Chapter 93
She needed to know if there was something more going on, something that could explain all of this madness.
But Kalus didn’t answer.
He simply sighed, a low, almost dismissive sound, and turned his back to her.
"Release her," he said calmly, directing the order to the guards who were stationed near the door.
The guards, who had been silent observers up until now, moved with mechanical precision.
Stephanie’s frustration boiled over.
“What do you mean by ‘release her’? I’m not done talking to you!”Stephanie yelled.
Her voice cracked, but she didn’t care.
She wasn’t going to let him off so easily.
Kalus didn’t even flinch.
He walked away from her, his heavy boots echoing in the silence as he moved toward the door.
Without a backward glance, he spoke again, his voice muffled as he spoke to someone outside the room.
"I need some space to think, take her back to her cell"
The door clicked shut behind him with a finality that sent a chill down Stephanie’s spine.
She stared at the closed door, the anger and confusion building inside her.
How dare he ignore her like that?
How could he just walk away after saying something!
But before she could think any further, the guards moved toward her.
One of them approached her directly, a grim expression on his face, and began cutting through the ropes that bound her wrists.
Stephanie tensed at the touch of the sharp blade, but she didn’t fight it.
Instead, she used the moment to steady herself.
The pain in her hands was sharp, but it wasn’t enough to distract her from the lingering questions.
She needed to know what Kalus had meant.
She needed to understand the truth behind his cold, taunting words.
The ropes fell away, and she rubbed her wrists, trying to restore circulation to the numb limbs.
The guards didn’t speak, their eyes fixed on her, unwavering and silent.
Stephanie took a deep breath, trying to gather her composure. She wasn’t going to let them win.
Kalus might have walked out, but this wasn’t over.
Not by a long shot.
As she stood, her legs shaky from being restrained for so long, she glared at the guards.
“What is he planning?” she demanded, her voice still rough but gaining strength with every word.
“What does he want from me? Why did he say we gave the same birth mark?”
The guards remained silent, their faces impassive.
One of them gestured toward the door, signaling for her to leave.
It was clear they weren’t going to answer her.
They weren’t here to talk—they were here to follow orders.
Stephanie paused for a moment, considering her options.
She could try to push past them, demand answers until they gave in, but she knew it would be futile.
Kalus had already shown her that he was uninterested in her questions.
So she had to find her own answers.
She stepped forward, slowly, her legs still weak from the prolonged restraint, but her mind was already racing, plotting her next move.
As she walked out of the room, the guards followed her in silence.
The air outside the room felt different—fresher, somehow, but still thick with the tension that surrounded Kalus.
There was something more going on here, something she didn’t fully understand, but she would find out.
The hallway stretched ahead of her, the stone walls silent witnesses to her every step.
She was determined now.
Kalus had made a mistake by dismissing her so easily.
And Stephanie was done being a pawn in his game.
She would find the truth, and she would make him face it.
But for now, she had to find a way to move forward—somehow, someway.
The iron door of her cell opened and the guards led her into the room, before closing the door.
Chiara face lit up as she saw Stephanie and she quickly rushed to meet her.
"Stephanie!!"Chiara called, happily
"Chiara, I fucked up"Stephanie said
"You don't have to worry about that, we'll have to plan again, I'm glad you're back to me"Chiara replied, hugging Stephanie
The both of them sat on the cold floor in the cell.
Silence enveloped them.
But Stephanie heart swirled with a lot of questions about what Kalus said to her.
"Chiara is right, we'll plan and find mom"She muttered to herself
"And for what Kalus said, I will definitely get an answer soon"She added.
She wasn’t going to let Kalus win.
Not now.
Not ever.

As Alessandro, Cristiano, and Angelica entered the cozy hut.
Hellcat served them with her usual flair, offering freshly baked brownies.
Alessandro took a bite and sighed contentedly, savoring the rich flavor.
"So delicious," Alessandro said, savoring the last bite of his brownie.
Hellcat smiled, pleased by the compliment, and quickly began gathering the plates to clear the table.
Alessandro, meanwhile, reached over to collect the baby from Angelica's arms.
The baby cooed softly, snuggled against him, as he cradled the child gently.
A few minutes later, Hellcat returned to the room, a playful glint in her eyes.
She teased Alessandro, who was still holding the baby, saying,
"You can't do without carrying the baby, can you?"
Alessandro smiled wistfully, looking down at the baby in his arms.
"The baby reminds me of Stephanie," he replied, his voice tinged with a mix of tenderness and longing.
"We have a bad news for you master"Angelica said
"Bad news?"Hellcat asked, stunned
"Yes"Cristiano replied
"What's that?"Alessandro asked
"Gabriel is becoming the Patriarch tommorow"Cristiano replied
"What!"Hellcat exclaimed
"That can never be possible, he can't take the place of my son"she said
"Federico has no choice to sign the Mafia document, Gabriel literally threaten him with his family, since Alessandro has been missing in the estate for three weeks now, then they have to choose a new patriarch"Cristiano replied
"I would be showing up in the estate tommorow"Alessandro said
"What! No master, your wound hasn't healed up properly, you can't"Cristiano replied
"Please son, you still need rest"Hellcat pleaded
"Forget about me mom, I won't seat back and watch Gabriel become the Patriarch, never"Alessandro thundered.
"What are you planning to do master?"Angelica asked
"Leave that to me, I know what to do"Alessandro replied, a sly smile playing on his lips.
