Chapter 121 Mrs Kincaid

Chapter 121 Mrs Kincaid
MIA

She is dressed in red pajamas and her hair is tied in a pony, standing there and staring at me with that same disgust.

"Mrs Kincaid," I called.

"What are you doing out here?" she asked.

"Jay Jay was thirsty so I had to um.... bring him here to give him some water."

She moved her eyes to Jay Jay and then to me.

She snorted, walking past me. I closed my eyes and opened them.

I turned to her.

She is opening the fridge.

She took a bottle of water, closed the fridge, and grabbed a glass.

She walked towards the island, placed the glass on it, and opened the bottle.

She filled up her cup and put down the bottle.

"What are you still doing there?!" she snapped.

I almost jumped.

"Um...I uh....I don't know if you and Jay Jay have gotten the opportunity to bond yet."

She scoffed. "Excuse me?"

God, that was not what I wanted to say. I wanted to compliment her.

"I mean he is uh.... He is your grandson."

She walked towards me, making my heart pound faster.

She stood in front of me.

Jay Jay said his talks.

Hush, Jay Jay.

She stared between Jay Jay and me.

"Listen, you tramp."

I furrowed my brows.

"I don't know where you found the freaking guts to speak to me but let this be the last time you do so."

"But..."

"Shut up." She snapped.

I swallowed as I stared at her.

"Just because my son picked you doesn't mean I have to like you. He chose to be a stupid man. That's on him. But stay the hell away from me. It is bad enough that he made his stupid mind up about you. Don't show up in my face all the freaking time to get me angrier, do you understand me?"

I lowered my gaze.

She moved closer, making me look at her.

"I asked, Do your white brain understand me?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Good. The same goes for the Hispanic kid." She said, making me freeze.

"Keep him away too. And don't call him my grandson ever again, do you hear me?"

What?

She averted her eyes from me and walked back to her water.

Did she.....

I looked at Jay Jay.

He is licking his fingers.

I returned my eyes to her.

She is approaching.

Her hateful eyes rested on me as she approached.

She walked past me, lowering my gaze as I thought of what she just said about Jay Jay.

I looked out of the kitchen where she had just walked past.

She hates Jay Jay too?

Why is that?

Aren't mothers supposed to be happy about their child bearing a child?

Grandparents are the happiest.

I don't get her.

Jay Jay went on with his talks, making me look at him.

He is sucking his fingers and letting out saliva as he speaks.

"Ignore her, okay? She doesn't mean what she said. She is just upset about me."

He said more meaningless things.

"Let's get you to bed." I walked out of the kitchen and headed towards the stairs.

I got to the stairs and was about to head up when.....

"Mia, ma'am." A familiar female voice called.

I looked back.

It was Naomi.

She is still in her maid uniform, cleaning her hands with a hand towel, and smiling at me.

That smile gave me a chilly discomfort.

"You are still awake. You and the little boss." She said, moving her eyes to Jay Jay.

I looked at Jay Jay, holding him tighter.

I moved my eyes to her.

She is still smiling.

"I came to give him water."

"Do you need me to help you with something?" She asked.

"No thank you."

"Alright then. Good night," she said, walking back to where she had come out from.

I furrowed my brows.

Where is she awake too?

And still in her uniform.

I shook the thought off as I continued my journey up the stairs.

Jay Jay picked up his talks.

He isn't even sleepy.

It is going to be a long night.

AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER.....

Walking out of the bathroom, I tied my hair in a messy pony as I walked towards the bed.

Big Kai is lying on his back, shirtless and under the duvet.

His braids rested on his forehead, making him look breathtakingly hot.

I smiled as I stared at him.

His mother came to mind, killing my smile.

Sighing, I walked towards my side of the bed and got under the duvet.

I shifted closer to Big Kai and lay on his chest. He moved, holding me closer.

I smiled at his sweet possessive hold.

"Shawty," his sleepy voice felt like music.

"Our lil man asleep yet?"

"Yeah."

"Sorry, I couldn't wait up."

"It's okay."

He kissed my hair, holding me tightly as he returned to his slumber.

I moved my fingers on his abs. His mother's words filled my head.

It is clear she doesn't like but she shouldn't take it on Jay Jay too.

I don't just understand. Jay Jay is her blood.

Why does she hate him?

Hispanic kid? Really?

"What's wrong?" Kai asked, making me freeze.

I looked at him.

He is looking at me.

"What?"

"I got a feeling something is wrong."

I furrowed my brows slightly. How did he.....

"Tell me."

"Nothing is wrong."

"Are you sure?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

"Aight."

I leaned in and kissed his lips, caressing his cheek and smiling at him.

He rubbed my back.

"Good night, Big Kai Kincaid."

He huffed.

I chuckled.

"Good night, baby."

I lay my head on his chest and he held me closer.

He loves me. I am a hundred percent sure of that.

But I wish his mother would like me.

And Jay Jay too.

We all could be a very big happy family.

But things hardly go the way you want, do they?

I let out a sigh.

Well, I have a genuine man who loves me like I am the only woman in this world.

I am happy.

So happy.

I can't wait for next month. I wanna be his wife so badly.

I bit my thumb as my heart fluttered.

God, I can't wait!

TWO DAYS LATER......

IN THE KITCHEN....

"He wants cereal today," I said, sipping my orange juice while seated on one of the barstools.

"Really, little guy? Cereal?" Coco asked Jay Jay who is seated on the island with his pacifier in his mouth and staring at her.

"But he had that yesterday," Vicky said, seated next to me and eating her breakfast.

"He wants it again today," I said.

Coco heaved a sigh, walking towards the top shelf at the end of the kitchen.

"Just so we know, he has exhausted almost all the cereal he has," Coco said, taking out a pack of cereal from the top shelf.

"He doesn't care. His dad will fill it up in no time. Right, Jay Jay?"

He said his talks.

"See? Even he knows it." I said.

Coco snorted, making me laugh as she walked towards the counter.

"Here is a cookie, Jay Jay," Vicky said, handing over a cookie to Jay Jay.

Jay Jay took it from her.

He took out his pacifier and moved the cookie to his mouth.

I scoffed. "Say thank you, buddy."

He looked at me.

I raised my brows at him.

He lowered the cookie and said things.

I nodded. "Okay."

Vicky chuckled.

"Mia, ma'am." That familiar female voice took our attention.

Naomi.

Her again.

That smile again.

This has been going on for days now.

She walked closer to the island.

"I didn't think you were here," she said, still smiling.

"Where do you think she would be?" Coco chipped in, killing Naomi's smile. Naomi stared at Coco.

She moved her eyes back to me.

Her smile came again.

That chilly feeling filled me.

"I uh....I am done with my morning chores. Is there something you'd like me to do for you?"

That question again.

Why does she keep asking him that?

"No." Coco chipped in again, claiming Naomi's attention.

"She doesn't need you to do anything for her, Naomi. I am here for her and the kids. Thank you." Coco said.

Naomi stared at Coco sternly.

I looked at Coco.

Coco gave her a not-so pleasant smile.

"Okay, Coco. No problem." Naomi said, making me look at her.

She smiled at me. "Next time then."

"Not a chance." Coco chipped in.

Naomi's smile fell again as she looked at Coco. And then at me.

"Excuse me." She said, walking away.

"Bitch." Coco muttered, turning Jay Jay's cereal.

I looked at the entrance and leaned closer for Coco.

"I told you, Coco," I whispered, looking at the entrance again and then at Coco.

"She has been acting like that towards me for days now."

"She is up to something. Her and the witch, Imani." Coco said.

"They don't scare me anymore, you know."

"Which is good." She said. "But you still have to be careful. Just because you are not afraid of them doesn't mean they can't try any....."

My phone beeped, interrupting her.

I picked it up.

It is a text from Big Kai.

"Oops, he just sent a text," I said, getting on my feet. "I need to go to the range right now."

"The range again?"

I shrugged. "My fiancée wants me to be a female James Bond."

She scoffed. "Seriously?"

"Yeah," I said, kissing Jay Jay on his forehead and then Vicky too.

"I will be back in a few hours, guys," I said, heading for the entrance.

"But.... "

"Bye!" I sang, heading out before she could complete her statement.

TWO HOURS LATER

AT THE RANGE HALL......

"You ain't hitting it harder, shawty."

I huffed. "I am trying, okay?"

"Nah you ain't."

Sighing, I raised my hands in red boxing gloves and punched the boxing bag in front of me.

I got sweat on my face and body, my hands and legs ache, and this boxing bag is so annoying!

I punched it again.

"Stop stalling."

I looked at him.

He is seated at his desk, staring at me.

"I am not stalling."

"Hit the shit harder, girl."

"Can I at least get a break?" I asked.

"You already had six breaks in two fucking hours. The last break was ten minutes ago."

I heaved a sigh, placing my hands on my hips and looking away.

"I'm fucking spoiling you and it is affecting your training."

"What do you mean by spoiling me? I am a woman, Big Kai. I don't need all this."

"Hit that shit harder, girl."

An idea popped into my head.

I smirked at him.

He raised his brows.

"Did you just say harder?"

"Shawty...."

"Oh, that is what you said," I retorted, taking a slow seductive step towards him.

"Go back to the damn bag." He ordered calmly.

I stood between his legs, wrapping his hands around my waist and holding his face with my two hands.

His eyes rested on mine.

"Maybe if you bend me over and hit me harder, I might hit the bag harder." I winked.

"The fuck you take me for, shawty?"

My smirk fell.

"For the last time, go back to the bag," he said calmly.

I scoffed.

"Seriously, what is with you?!" I snapped, moving away from me.

He kept staring at me.

"I said I am tired. I need a freaking break."

"Tired huh?"

"Yes."

"But you want me to bend you over."

"So?" I folded my hands, looking away.

I heard his phone beep.

I looked at him.

He is looking at his phone.

Sighing, he got on his feet and walked towards me.

I held his gaze as he got closer.

"I'm heading to the hood."

I averted my eyes from him.

He gripped my neck, pulled me closer, and gave me the hottest quickest kiss ever.

My heart raced.

My core throbbed.

He stared at my lips and my eyes.

"Fine. Have your break. Tomorrow we go again." He said.

"Make it next week "

He scoffed, leaning in and kissing my forehead.

My heart fluttered.

"See you tonight" he said, taking steps back.

"Maybe bend you over like you want me to."

I blushed.

He chuckled, heading out.

Naughty man.

I chuckled.

AN HOUR LATER......

Walking along the hallway, I am refreshed and dressed in my green knee-length dress, heading towards my former room.

That training was the hardest I have ever had.

I hope he listens and makes my next training next week.

It can't be tomorrow that first. I am not preparing for war or something.

Or am I?

I got to my room door and was about to reach for the doorknob when......

"Oh, ma'am," a female voice called.

I looked in her direction.

It is one of the cleaning maids.

I don't remember her name.

"There you are. I was coming to call you," she said, approaching me.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

"It is Coco. She needs you in the kitchen immediately. It is about Jay Jay."

My heart picked up.

"Jay Jay?"

She nodded.

"What's wrong? Is he okay?" I asked, walking past her.

"I don't know, ma'am."

I hurried towards the stairs. I descended them and ran towards the kitchen.

"Coco, what is wrong with....." I trailed off the minute I didn't see anyone in the kitchen.

I furrowed my brows.

"Coco?"

No response.

No Jay Jay either.

I looked behind me and outside the kitchen.

I don't see the maid who gave me the info.....

A whimper sound from the kitchen caught my attention.

"Coco?" I took steps further into the kitchen.

The next thing I saw made my heart leave my body entirely.

Big Kai's mother is on the floor in a pool of her blood.

I covered my mouth with my palms, staring at her as she choked while holding her bleeding belly.

I hurried towards her.

"Mrs Kincaid." I knelt next to her. Her eyes moved to me.

"Wha.....how...." I couldn't form words as I moved my eyes and I saw a knife next to her filled with blood.

I picked it up, staring at it.

It's a kitchen knife.

She choked, letting out whimpers.

"Wha.... what have you done? Why did you do this?"

She opened her mouth to speak as she stared at me. She can't form words.

I placed my hand on her belly to stop the bleeding.

God, she is losing a lot of blood.

"Mrs Kincaid, what happened to you?"

"T....t...the....ma.....mai...."

"How interesting."

I froze, looking ahead where the familiar female voice came from.

Naomi is standing at the entrance with a phone up in her blood-filled hands like she is.....

God, she is recording me?

I looked at the knife in my hand.

I dropped it, looking at her.

She lowered the phone, smirking at me.

The smirk.

Her bloody hands.

The phone.

"What did you...."

A chuckle chipped in and Imani appeared, chuckling continuously and standing next to Naomi.

My heart dropped again.

I looked at Mrs Kincaid.

She is out.

A clapping sound caught my attention.

Imani was clapping and smirking at me.

My legs weakened.

"Splendid, Mia."

I shook my head slightly as tears approached my eyes.

She smirked again.

She maintained eye contact as she leaned closer to Naomi.

"Did you get it?"

What?

"Yes, ma'am. I did" Naomi answered.

Terror washed me.

"Good. Send it to my brother."

"No!"
