His Invisible Obsession

Mira has spent half of her high school years being invisible. After her father's arrest destroyed their family name and her body changed, she became the girl everyone either ignored or targeted. Then she took a babysitting job to help pay her mother's bills and walked straight into the home of Nathaniel Martinez. The golden boy and the boyfriend of the most popular girl in school. What begins as cold indifference slowly becomes something neither of them has a word for. ***** I thought I was invited to a party, but I was actually walking into my own execution. The music stopped the second Kem snatched my unlocked phone. She read my most pathetic, obsessive diary entries about Nat out loud to the entire room. The boy I had secretly loved for four years just stared at me with pure disgust. Then came the pie smashing directly into my face, followed by a bottle of sticky liquid poured over my head while everyone howled with laughter. I was the fat, pathetic joke of the school. I walked home dripping in humiliation, swearing I’d never look at him again. Until the next day, when I showed up to my new nanny job... and Nat walked down the stairs.
