Chapter 38
“Aria, Blair, and you stay here for a while. You just met your parents after 18 years. Ethan and I will come and meet you or you can come to meet us as well. We both agree that you should be with them for the time being. You can call us through our link whenever you need anything. Mason told us.”
“I have already agreed with Mason on this, so just stay here with your family. We are mates and will be together for our lives, so you don’t have to worry about anything else. Stay by your family’s side. They are still recovering. They need you more than we do at the moment. Ethan insisted on knowing what Blair and I were thinking.”
Blair and I gave up trying to persuade them, knowing we couldn’t do anything about their decision. We wanted to be with our parents as well, but we were going to miss our mates so much as we had been there for each other these past few days.
“Okay, Blair and I will stay here but, you both have to come and meet us every day. I insisted.”
“Sure, Ethan and I will meet you every day. We will get going for now. Mason said, kissing me on my forehead.”
Ethan also kissed Blair on the cheek before they left.
Our rooms had been prepared beforehand so, we decided to go and settle in. Prince Caleb showed us our rooms. He was so happy that Anna could live with him from now on. He had already marked her as his. Everything was going well, there was happiness all around us.
We spent the rest of the day interacting with our families. At night, Mason and Ethan came to meet us, just like they promised. Our parents had already accepted our mates, so there wasn’t any problem. I fell asleep happily first time after those days.
It took a few more days for our parents to recover. 5 of them are all good now, and we are getting to know our family better with each passing day. Mason and Ethan are always there for Blair and me.
They would come to our rooms at night just to cuddle us while we slept. Our relationship became better than ever. We could understand each other without reading thoughts.
When Mason and Ethan were too busy, we went to meet them. We enjoyed their company more than anything else. They trained me to be a princess these months, and we were preparing for Prince Caleb's upcoming wedding. Just two weeks later would be Princess Amelia's wedding.
All of us were busy with the preparations for two weddings ahead. Prince Caleb’s wedding is the day after tomorrow. Mason and Ethan were helping us out with the planning as well. Father had already informed Prince Caleb and Princess Amelia’s fathers about their children's wedding.
They decorated the castle with flowers and leaves; we decorated the wedding hall with pink, red, and white flowers on a white background. We had done a good job. The hall looked stunning.
It is the day of Prince Caleb’s wedding. We went to Amelia’s room to help her get ready for the ceremony after being done with the decorations. Amelia’s mother greeted us as we got there with our things to get ready. We went to Amelia’s room, and she was just putting on her white satin gown adorned with pearls.
We helped her with the dress, buttoning it quickly after she put it on. Amelia helped her to put on her jewelry while I did her hair and Blair started with her makeup. Over time, all of us have become best friends.
We got ready as soon as we were done helping Anna. All of us were ready to go to the ceremony venue. Anna’s parents called us out. It was time to go and meet our mates. We head to the hall and Anna walks to Prince Caleb with her father. They both exchange wedding vows and rings, finally kissing each other, completing the ceremony.
We went to a party and dinner, and after that, everyone went home at night. Blair, Amelia, and I left the newlyweds at the entrance to their room. We wanted to meet our mates as well. As soon as I entered my room, Mason embraced me. He missed me as well. It seems.
Blair and I had accompanied Prince Caleb and Princess Amelia to inform their fathers about the wedding personally. Just in case they tried to do anything, we decided it was better to tag along with them. They had not reacted upon hearing the news. We just let them know and came back, not waiting for a response.
Weeks passed quickly and now both of my cousins were married to their mates and living their lives happily. 6 months have passed quickly with everything going on. I was still living with my parents. I wanted to be with Mason as a family. That dream would come true soon. His parents always treat me like a daughter and I am grateful for that.
Even if I leave my parents, my bestie will be there with me. We will be living together there and enjoying ourselves like we always do. I am looking forward to that life for now. I am going to cherish my time with my family.
Anna, Blair, Prince Caleb, Mason, Ethan, Princess Amelia, Theo, and I would meet at our old spot to train sometime. We taught Amelia to fight as well. Granny would join us at least once a month. I would visit my other parents while I go to our spot. They would be so happy to see me every time.
I was going to be a big sister as soon as Mom was pregnant. She is six months along. I was more than happy for them. My visits to make Mom her favorite meals were just frequented with that. I just loved to cook for my family. Sometimes I cook meals at the castle for everyone and they love it.
I was there with my mom when she gave birth to a cute baby girl. Holding her in my arms for the first time was the most wonderful moment. Dad was so happy that he cried tears of joy. All our friends and family visited them, showering the little one with love.
Almost 10 months have passed, and the preparations for us to go to our mate's house had begun. Blair and I had packed the essential stuff beforehand. I am going to miss everyone here. We both are getting married on the same day. I can finally be with my mate officially.
Blair and I were anxious as we got ready for our big day in white dresses beautifully designed with lace and pearls.
“Your grooms are going to be awestruck when they see you today. Anna said, giving us a bright smile.”
Blair, my mother’s, and granny were teary-eyed. I was going to be escorted by my two fathers on this auspicious day. My heart was beating faster in anticipation of meeting Mason. Prince Caleb and Theo came and knocked on my room’s door.
“Are you ready Aria, and Blair? It’s time to go. Prince Caleb called us.”
“Yes, they are ready. Anna said, opening the door for them.”
“Prince Caleb, Princess Amelia, I am leaving this kingdom and my parents in your care from now on. I declared.”
“You can rest assured Aria. I will take care of my uncle and aunt for you. You don’t have to worry about your both parents. He told me while Amelia nodded in agreement with him.”
“Thank you, Prince Caleb, Princess Amelia. I am so grateful that you both are always there for me in need. I am grateful to everyone who has always helped me. Without all of you, I wouldn’t be where I am now. Take care of yourselves.”
“Come on, don’t start crying now Aria, Prince Caleb said looking at me as I was about to cry.”
I followed them with Blair and others. At the entrance, Blair and my fathers were waiting for us. We took their hand and walked down the path to our mates. True to Anna’s words, our mates were looking at us, their gaze filled with amazement. As Father gave my hand to Mason, I heard him through our mind link saying you look drop-dead gorgeous.
Blush crept up my face at his statement. We said our vows and exchanged wedding rings. Everything went well. The party and dinner were amazing, as they included my favorite chocolate cake and pancakes for dessert. We left with our mates after saying goodbye to our families.
We had completed our mate bond and life with our mates felt fulfilling. Our in-laws treated us like their daughters and showered us with so much love. Blair and I would regularly visit our families when we knew Anna and Amelia were going to be mothers.
Uncles have been good so far, everyone was so happy. I could see the people in our kingdoms happy. I always have wished for this and it came true. Prince Caleb had informed his father that he had become a grandfather.
Amelia, Anna, Blair, and I had become like sisters to each other. We spent a lot of time together when our mates were busy with work. Our parents had become good friends and frequently enjoyed some time, just like us.
One morning I woke up feeling sick. Blair was also sick for the past week. Mason and Ethan called for the doctors and had us checked. The doctors checked us and informed us that we both were in the early stages of pregnancy. We were one month pregnant, and Mason and Ethan were too happy to utter words.
Mason called Ethan’s parents and his parents to inform them about the good news. They were as happy as our mates. We decided to go and inform this news to our families. We will be visiting today either way as my uncles are going to be released.
The time of 18 months passed quickly, with various events around. Today we are back home to inform our parents that we will have little hybrids running around soon.
Today is the day we will release my uncles from the cells. I hope that they have changed for the better. I don’t want them to mistreat their grandchildren just because they are not pure-blood ones.
We patiently waited for Uncle Arthur and Evan’s arrival at the castle. They were uncuffed but, guards still had an eye on them. We could see them arriving. As soon as they arrived, they bowed down to us.
“I am extremely sorry for the way I treated all of you. Being locked up made me realize how important family is. I am sorry for taking everything for granted all the time and neglecting my duty as a parent and ruler of the kingdom. Uncle Arthur spoke.”
“I am very sorry as well. I promise to never look down on anyone again. Uncle Evan said, bowing to us.”
It seems like they are speaking the truth but, it's better to keep an eye on them for the time being. They apologized to their family members and even seemed to care for them as a father would. They have changed a bit, their imprisonment taught them things. Father was right when he decided to do this.
After we settled down for lunch with the whole family, Blair and I informed them that little hybrids were on the way. All of them were happy for us, even Uncle Evan and Arthur seemed happy about the news.
We left after lunch that day. Father or Prince Caleb would give me updates on Uncle Arthur's and Evan’s behavior. They had changed for the better. Circumstances indeed change people. They are examples of it.
They have started to treat everyone with equal respect, even half-bloods and humans. Uncle Arthur treated Anna like a daughter and played with his little grandson. Father was so happy to see this change in his brothers. He threw an enormous dinner party for everyone, including “Shifter’s Territory” and “Vampire Kingdom”. It was also a chance for unmated people to find their mates.
That night, we were having dinner as a happy family. Our happiness is finally complete. Joy was radiant all around as people enjoyed each other's company with a sense of freedom and peace surrounding them. All of us were enveloped in the warmth of love that gave us serenity.
