God Killer
God Killer
Abigail’s POV…
I had no idea what Feran could really do. And honestly, I didn't care. I'd already torn through his guards. I'd escaped his prison. I'd survived everything his empire had thrown at me. What could he possibly do that would stop me now?
Power crackled between my fingers as I stepped closer to the throne. Feran remained standing, his spear held firmly in both hands.
"You cannot win," he said.
I smiled. "You should know this by now. I'm not trying to win anything." I raised my hand. "I just want to kill you."
His expression hardened. "Many have tried. They all failed because they misunderstood what I am."
He lifted his spear. "I am a god and you cannot kill a god."
I laughed. "Who told you that, Idiot? Gods can die."
He didn’t like that I said that quite much. Feran charged. His spear came straight for my chest. I fired a bolt of electricity. He ducked beneath it. The spear swept toward my head. I moved aside. He attacked again. And again.
I bobbed and weaved around every strike, watching the weapon pass inches from my body. Then I disappeared. Feran stopped. His spear remained raised as he looked around the throne room. He couldn't see me. He couldn't hear me.
But I could see him, and I could certainly still hear the beating of his heart. It even accelerated.
He was searching. I appeared behind him. Before he could turn, I seized him with my mind. His body froze. His feet lifted slightly from the ground.
Feran struggled. "What—"
I smiled. "Remember your promise to me? I do! Now let me remind you of mine."
I raised my hand. "I told you I would peel your skin from your bones."
I was about to begin when—Feran disappeared. My grip slipped. He vanished from my telekinetic hold and immediately appeared behind me. His spear swung toward my head. I ducked. The weapon missed by inches. I stumbled forward, stunned.
He could teleport. Short distances. But quickly. Very quickly. As fast as the blink of an eye lid…and I should know. I have four of them.
He came again. Then disappeared. Then appeared beside me. Another strike. I moved. He vanished. Appeared behind me. I turned.
I wasn’t quick enough. His spear sliced across my arm. Pain exploded through me. I screamed. My right hand hit the floor. For a moment, I simply stared at it. My hand was ripped from my wrist. Clean off.
Feran stood several meters away, breathing heavily. He smiled. "Now you understand."
I looked at my arm. Blood poured from the wound.
"You've lost." He raised his spear. "It's time to finish this."
He started walking toward me. "Your heart and brain will be enough. The Keepers will extract what they need, and your existence will finally serve a purpose."
I looked at him. He continued. "You will die."
He raised the spear. "And you will be forgotten."
He swung. The fool thought he had me. Not knowing that his proximity to me granted me more access to his body. I caught him. My mind seized his body before the weapon could reach me. Electricity exploded from my remaining hand. Right into his frame. Feran screamed. His body convulsed. He couldn't blink away. Not while I had him this tightly.
I slowly stood. I looked at the stump where my hand had been. Then I watched. The flesh began growing. Muscle. Bone. Skin. Fingers. Within seconds, my hand was restored. Feran stared at me. His confidence disappeared. I smiled.
"You called yourself a god."
I raised my hand. "But if you're a god..."
I lifted him off the ground. "...then I'm a god killer."
Feran's body rose higher. He tried to blink. Nothing happened. He tried again. Still nothing. My grip was too strong. "You wanted my heart so badly."
I closed my fingers slowly. "Then I'll take yours."
Feran gasped. His hand moved toward his chest. I focused. I wrapped a mental hand around his heart. I could feel it. I could sense every beat. Every contraction. Every moment of blood being pushed through his body. I tightened my grip. His face contorted. The throne room disappeared from my attention. There was only Feran. And his heart.
I was going to crush it. I was going to end him. Once and for all.

Jarox’s POV…
I stood behind the massive doors of the throne room. I'd waited long enough. This was my moment. I slowly opened the door. The first thing I saw was my father. Suspended in midair. His body twisted helplessly as he struggled against Abigail's power. His face was contorted with pain. She was killing him. I knew immediately that I couldn't approach her normally. She would sense me.
Even if I became invisible, she would probably know I was there.
And the dampener cuff wouldn't help if I couldn't get close enough to put it on her. There was only one option. My power.
I closed my eyes. I reached into her mind. And then I felt her. Her consciousness was enormous. Powerful. Almost impossible to comprehend. But I didn't pull away. I pushed deeper. I focused on her thoughts. Her emotions. Her intentions. Everything.
Then suddenly—White. Everything became white. The throne room disappeared. The palace disappeared. My body disappeared. I opened my eyes. I was standing in an endless white void. There were no walls. No ceiling. No floor. Nothing.
Just whiteness stretching endlessly in every direction.
I looked around. Then I saw her. Abigail stood several meters away. Her back was turned toward me. I took a step. Then another. She didn't move. I kept walking until I was close enough to see her clearly. She slowly turned around. Her eyes met mine. For a moment, she simply stared at me. Then she smiled faintly. "I'd almost forgotten about you."
She studied me. "But you're still here."
She tilted her head. "So tell me, Jarox..." She took one step toward me. "...which one are you?"
Her expression hardened. "Are you an ally… or an enemy?"
