You Promised To Not Hurt Me

You Promised To Not Hurt Me
But before her fingers could even unsheath the dagger, his eyes flew open and in the blink of a heartbeat, she was thrown to her back with him above her.Elora’s breath hitched. She stiffened as she felt his fingers wrap tightly around her neck, his body pressing her down to the bed. She managed to push the dagger under her body and placed her hands on his chest in a frail attempt to push him off her. And when she lifted her gaze to meet his, she felt her soul leave her body.Fear wrapped tightly around her like a vice at the sight of his eyes.“Yo…your highness.” She trembled. He looked unlike the man she was used to these past days. One eye was a dark shade of red and the other remained in its silver blue color. His fangs bit at his lips and heavens, he was staring at her like food. His silver hair fell around her.Elora gulped down the lump in her throat.“Yo…your highness,” she breathed. “Your eyes.” It scared her the most. She further tried to push him off her when his fangs extended and his head pushed closer to her neck. His nose trailed from her upper neck down to the lower, the sound of his sniff filling the entire chambers.A cry tore off her lips when he pushed her head to the side, revealing the fair skin of her neck even more. Her body was weak compared to his and even though her entire strength was channeled into pushing him off her, it rendered futile. At this, she dropped her hands beside her, her eyes becoming teary.A shiver ran down her spine as his lips trailed her skin this time. She didn’t know if it was from fear or the feel of his warm lips on her.She gasped when his fangs lightly pierced her once and then twice. Blood drained from her face. She froze. Her heart somersaulted in her chest. His hold on her neck was too strong and just one move might cost her her life. Was it intentional? Was he finally going to murder her?“You promised to n…not hurt me,” she stuttered in trepidation. “Your high….Rafael, ahh,” her cry of pain rang out as his fangs dug into her skin. In an instant, he shot off her and out of the bed.“Hell, are you okay?”She sat up on the bed, her breath ragged and her chest heaving up and down. Her fingers moved to the painful spot on her neck and her eyes widened when she felt the wetness.“Shit. Let me see.” Rafael stepped forward.Elora shirked and moved to the other side of the bed, her tears beginning to stream down her cheek. He paused halfway and dropped his hand. “Forgive me.” His words came out low and strained.“Yo…your eyes.”“What?”“They’re scary.”Immediately, he turned his back to her as if to relieve her of the horrible sight. His jaw clenched and his clawed hands curled into a fist, the sharp edges piercing into his skin.“Forgive me,” he repeated. “This won’t happen again. I’ll send in a human physician.”With that, he shot out of sight and only the whoosh of air that stung her face was the evidence that he’d ever been there.Elora let out a breath of relief once he was out. She brought the blood-stained hand to her face and stared at it. There was something off about the Prince, she noted. Something she couldn’t put her hands around. All throughout the remaining hours of the night, she tossed and turned, unable to catch a single ounce of sleep. Even after the human physician came and went, she continued tossing. The bed suddenly became cold, even the comforter could barely protect her from it. It was only after the dawn of day did she finally closed her eyes to sleep. She slept through the morning and once it was afternoon, the knock of the servants on the door broke her sleep.Lia and Hula walked into the room to her bedside.“My Lady, are you okay?” Lia helped her up from the bed.“Your highness, did you get hurt?” Hula questioned in worry. “We’ve been restricted from coming near you all day. Did his highness have an episode ag…” She immediately clamped her mouth shut.Elora’s eyes flew to hers immediately and she commanded. “Speak now.”Hula shifted uncomfortably and after a second of thought, she continued. “It…it’s just that his highness would snap out of control once in a while and…and get all dangerous. It’s been years since it happened and it…it’s strange that it’s happening again after all these years. It’s bad. Really bad.”Even as the servants led her to the bathroom, scrubbed her until her skin tingled, and put her into a stunning dress, she still couldn’t concentrate. Her mind, her heart, and her soul were fixated on one person. One man.
