Nova's POV
The car continued to drive along the familiar rocky road. Tall, dense trees cast dark shadows along the roadside, but I could sense that this place was more than just an ordinary location. Each turn and incline brought a nostalgia that was hard to explain, as if this place held forgotten memories.
The atmosphere inside the car grew tense, with the sound of the engine vibrating amidst the silence of the forest. I observed the small details around me—the roots of trees protruding, thick foliage, and sunlight trying to break through the branches.
Although I didn’t know where we were headed, there was a feeling that this journey was towards something important. Something that would change everything. With each passing second, my curiosity deepened, and the tension in my chest became more palpable. It felt as if we were stepping into a mystery greater than just this journey.
Minutes later, the car stopped in front of a large, dark stone building. It looked sturdy yet slightly covered in moss and wild plants. I stared at it in confusion, then glanced at Diego, who was already out of the car.
“Get out,” he said briefly.
I raised an eyebrow but complied and opened the door. The morning breeze greeted my face as I stepped out, bringing the damp aroma of the surrounding trees. The atmosphere here felt different, as if something mysterious enveloped this place.
“Where is this?” I asked quietly, my voice almost swallowed by the rustling wind.
Diego glanced at the building for a moment before answering, “A place where I can think clearly. And now, you need to know something.”
His words piqued my curiosity even more. I examined the details of the towering building before me. The rough, dark walls seemed to hold many stories, while the small windows glimmered faintly under the rising sun. A sense of anxiety filled my heart. What did he want to say? Why was this place so important?
Diego stepped forward, opening a heavy door that creaked as it swung open. He walked in, and I followed him with hesitant steps. Inside, the atmosphere felt darker, with light only filtering through the gaps in the walls. Dust floated in the air, adding to the sense of abandonment.
I followed his steps further into the building. Inside, it turned out to be warmer than it looked from the outside. The cold stone walls were adorned with a large fireplace glowing dimly, providing a soft light that warmed the atmosphere. The scent of burning wood and old book dust created a strange yet comforting combination.
Several old bookshelves lined the sides of the room, filled with seemingly aged books. The titles were faint, some even covered in thick dust. I felt as though I were in a place brimming with knowledge and untold stories.
Anxiety and curiosity blended within me. I knew that whatever he was about to say would change my perspective. With a pounding heart, I prepared to listen, realizing that this journey might take me to a side of myself I had never seen before.
“This feels like a secret room,” I murmured, trying to lighten the mood.
Diego didn’t respond. He walked toward one of the shelves, pulled a hidden lever, and suddenly a small door opened, revealing stairs leading down into the ground. The creaking wood echoed in the room, adding to the mysterious atmosphere.
“What… is this?” I asked again, my heart starting to race.
Diego turned to me, his eyes serious.
“This is where I keep everything that must not be known by anyone. And starting today, you will know.”
I swallowed hard, staring at the dark staircase before me. Everything felt like a turning point. No matter what truth I would discover down there, I knew… my life would never be the same again.
With a steady step, I continued down. The sound of our footsteps echoed in the narrow corridor, creating a tense atmosphere. Each second felt heavy, filled with hope and fear.
I took slow steps down the stone stairs, each footfall reverberating in the cold, narrow hallway. Old lamps hung along the walls, casting dim yellow light. It felt like entering another world, far from the glittering castle above, resembling a secret place full of mysteries.
Each step brought mixed feelings—tension and curiosity. The cold stone walls seemed to hold many secrets, and I couldn’t help but wonder what I would find at the end of this corridor.
Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, I stood silent. The room was spacious and filled with strange items. There were tall wooden shelves holding glass bottles with suspiciously colored liquids, old scrolls, and metal objects whose functions I didn’t recognize.
In one corner, a large table was covered with maps, documents, and faded photographs, some even singed at the edges. The dim light from the old lamps highlighted strange details in the room, casting moving shadows on the walls.
I stepped further inside, feeling the cold air surrounding me. Every object here seemed to tell a story, recounting a forgotten history. The glass bottles glimmered in the light, promising secrets that might be dangerous. The scrolls looked fragile, as if they could crumble with just a touch.
On the table, the scattered maps showed unfamiliar locations. Some documents appeared to be signed by famous names, while the faded photographs depicted faces I also didn’t recognize, yet something made me feel connected.
My curiosity deepened. This room was not just a storage, it was a place holding truths that could change my life forever. Carefully, I approached the table, ready to investigate further, knowing that every piece of information I found here could be the key to understanding who I truly was.
“What is this…?”
I murmured softly, my eyes fixed on everything that looked like it belonged to a wizard or a mad scientist.
I approached one of the tables and saw an old journal lying there, its pages filled with neat handwriting and strange symbols. Each symbol looked intricate and mysterious, as if it held deep meaning.
