Chapter 68 A Hard Slap
"I think that is very weird but it's not important to me right now. Can you just tell me if Cara is here or not? I really need to talk to her like right now." Chris sounded desperate and pleadingly polite.
Andrew let out a sigh. "I don't know the full story so I'm not going to pretend like I do. Just make it quick, I'll call her out for you."
He poked his head into the shop and called out for Cara. Cara confusedly walked out with her boyfriend's arm around her shoulder and Rick and Camilla behind them as well and a small shopping bag. Her eyes squinted as they landed on Chris as if she wanted to confirm if she was hallucinating.
"Chris?!" Her eyes widened as she exclaimed, knowing that he was truly there. "What the fck?!"
"That's what I said except with an 'actual'." Andrew chirped in.
Chris' eyes fell on Romeo's arms around Cara's neck and he angrily gritted his teeth. He frowned. "Have you slept with him yet?" His brow arched.
"What the fck! Why would you even ask me that!" She angrily exclaimed. "What in this freakishly large world are you doing here?"
"To be honest... I came here to see you and I would really like for us to talk. Also, please take his hand off your shoulder." His words came out in a gentle tone but it was visible that there was hidden anger behind each and every word.
"He is my boyfriend and you do not have the right to tell me what to do, okay?! So please stop this nonsense and never try to see me again!" She barked angrily.
Romeo stood in silence, his arm still hanging around Cara's shoulders, and watched Chris as he spoke.
That man was more than what he thought he was. A dumb man, an indecisive fool, sure, he knew Chris was all that. But a stalker? A desperate man? A scary person? He had never thought of those ones.
He was like some creep in a thriller movie with a psychotic love for a woman who wanted nothing to do with him but being the psycho he was, he wasn't going to give up.
How long did it take him to find Cara at the exact location they were? How long had he searched? For how many days had he stalked her?
Those flared with rage nostrils, those pricked ears, those eyes burning with rage and something else... Not love... Greed.
"Cara, I think it's unhealthy for you to be around this man." The words left his mouth before he even arranged the thoughts properly in his head.
Cara looked up at him and was surprised to hear Andrew speak too. "I second that thought."
"Can you two not mind your own businesses?" Chris fumed. "And why won't you take your hand off of her?!"
"And why should he?"
They all turned around to the direction of where a woman's voice had sounded and Cara sighed tiredly as she saw Jessica walking towards them.
"Seriously, when will the cars get here?" She looked up at Romeo as she asked.
Romeo only pulled her closer to himself in a loving and also protective manner.
Jessica swayed her hips in rhythm to her feet as they kissed the ground. She stopped a few paces from her husband and stared at him with slight irritation.
"What are you doing here Jessica?" Chris angrily questioned.
"Oh but I should be the one asking you that!" She spat out. A soft sigh left her mouth. "For the last few days, we have had no problem whatsoever in our home but you decide to ruin it all by doing this? What will happen to me if she says yes?"
"Please," Cara spoke up. "I desperately beg you!" She pressed her palms together. "Do not even stress yourself with imagining such a scenario because it can never happen okay? Chris is your man and your man is yours to keep."
"Well it better remain that way or else!" Jessica barked.
"Keep your mouth shut, Jessica and don't even think of interfering in this situation." Chris strictly said to his wife.
"No I will not and you should--" a sharp slap on her face cut her off and the next thing she realized, she was lying on the ground.
Gasps erupted from all eyes that saw and Cara immediately crouched down next to her to make sure she was okay.
Jessica tasted the bitter taste of blood in her mouth and her jaw ached. She watched in surprise as Romeo gripped Chris by the collar and shoved him back.
"How dare you lay your hand on a woman you call your own!" Romeo growled, still gripping Chris by the collar.
Chris tried to throw a punch but received one instead that sent blood trailing down his nostril. He stumbled to the ground as Romeo shoved him back and hit himself rather hardly.
"What the fuck!" Chris yelled. "Why do you care?! Isn't she my own? She's my thing to treat how I like!"
"That's where you are wrong, Chris," Jessica stated as she brought herself to her feet. "And I'll gladly prove it to you." Shrugging Cara's band away, she stormed back to her car and drove off.
Cara held Romeo's hand and calmed him down. She stood over Chris and stared down at him who was still sitting on the ground and caressing his broken and bleeding nose.
"Listen to me, Chris, I will only say this once. This will be the last time I will allow such behavior from you. I will no longer tolerate all of the bullshit you are trying to do and if you don't stop... Then I'll have to teach you a lesson." Her voice was cold and chilling.
Chris had never heard her speak like that before. He glanced at Romeo who, though was standing behind her, seemed like her weapon and shield. The magic in him shone through his emerald eyes.
But Chris wouldn't give up just yet. Not like that.
