Chapter 51 Fiancée
Anger caused her to clench her first till her nails dug into her skin yet she wore a smile on her face like she wasn't even bothered in the slightest way about what she had just witnessed.
"Alright, alright, you love each other, we get it." Rick rolled his eyes. "Can we just get on the freaking cruiser now? I've grown old while waiting for you guys."
"Every time I look at these two, it makes me wanna barf." Andrew rolled his eyes as he said.
They all started towards the cruiser while a few men walked over to their car and started unpacking their load.
Camilla walked with her arms around Romeo and he placed an arm over her shoulder.
He turned to look at Cara and smiled at her. "Let's go."
She nodded and followed them. "Uhm but wait, Romeo?"
Romeo stopped and Camilla next to him still hugged him tight, her head on his chest.
Cara felt awkward to even have a conversation with him with the dark eyed woman around. She pointed at their bags, "our things... Uhm... Will they...?"
"Oh you don't have to worry, they'll pack everything completely, they know well enough not to make anything go missing." He assured her with a smile.
She nodded her head and continued towards the ship. She let out a heavy sigh as she walked ahead of them, not wanting to see even their backsides as they acted all lovey dovey.
Arriving on the ship, she drew a surprised gasp as her eyes landed on the magnificent setting of the place. She was sure renting the ship for the weekend cost more than the apartment that she owned plus her parents house too.
Things like that reminded her of how wealthy Romeo was and the things he considered little things were extravagantly huge in the eyes of others.
Maybe it was better how he had a woman he loved, that way, she could finally open her eyes to reality and understand that she would never have fit in with a wealthy family like his in the first place.
Take Chris for example, she ended up as a divorcee even after giving it her best.
It almost brought tears to her eyes but she managed to keep control over her emotions.
"Uh... Camilla, can you help me show Cara to her room?" Romeo asked and the woman nodded and finally unwrapped her arms from around him.
"Come on," Camilla interlocked her arm with Cara bride and groom style and led her down the enormous hall with a gentle smile on her face.
The girl was what they called clingy. Cara would give her that.
"So, Cara right?" Camilla asked with a wide grin on her face. "I've heard a lot about you from Romeo. Don't tell them though, he doesn't talk about you with them because... Well, he doesn't like to talk about girls with other men."
"He talks about me?" Cara's thin brow arched as she asked. Her eyes landed on Camilla's ring finger and a diamond studded ring wrapped around the finger. Her eyes widened.
"Yeah he does, he--"
"Oh my goodness, is that a wedding ring?" Cara exclaimed, eyes still lingering on the ring.
"Oh, yeah." Camilla smiled. "Finally, I have waited so long for this moment. He didn't want to propose to me before but he finally realized that I was a rare gem and he would be a fool to lose me."
Tears pricked at Cara's eyes. "Oh my God... When-- when did he propose?"
"Last week. He's impatient to get married actually, our wedding is just a few weeks away. January." She smiled at her ring.
Cara wanted to burst into tears, but why? Why would she react like that for a man she was never with.
"Wait, are you that close to my fiancé? He hardly talks to people but this gang is important to him. We are his family."
Cara simply nodded.
They arrived in front of a brown door and Camilla stopped. "This is your room, Romeo chose the best for you. I'm jealous." She said with a smile.
Cara almost rolled her eyes. Why choose the best for her when his fiancée was on the ship? His freaking fiancée? Why didn't he tell her? Why make a fool out of her? She would have never gone on the stupid trip if he had told her about his fiancée.
He proposed to her last week and still didn't tell her anything about it! How could he be such a jerk to her?
But she smiled and released herself from Camilla's grip.
Camilla smiled back. "The helpers will bring your things to you soon. Don't worry, all your things are completely safe."
"Hmm..." She moaned softly in response.
Camilla held her hand. "I'm glad I met you. Thank you for making Romeo happy again."
Cara held back her tears. "That's not my job anymore." Without waiting for a response, she opened the door to her room and went inside.
For the rest of the day, she locked herself in her room and laid on her bed. The helpers had carried her things to her room but she couldn't even unpack because she was not in the mood.
She laid on her back and stared up at the ceiling of her room. She was too sad to be sea sick. She didn't even remember that she was on a vast collection of water.
She had hoped for him to come and check on her, for someone to at least know if she's okay. But hours had passed by, day had become night, yet no one came.
"He is probably having fun with his real friends and fiancée. I'm no more than a business partner." She told herself.
She felt a single droplet of tear trail down her face. She sat up abruptly and wiped the tear away. "No, don't! Men like him don't deserve your--"
A drum roll of knocks cut through her words. "Who is it?" She demanded angrily.
"Cara? Are you okay?"
She heard Romeo's voice from the other side of the door. A deep frown sat on her face. Getting to her feet, she walked to the door and opened it.
Her eyes widened as she saw Romeo looking wasted. "Romeo..."
He smiled.
