Chapter 150 This Gift
Joshua stepped in front of his father, "my dear brother-in-law, don't listen to my dad, I insist on accepting this gift from you. My dad is so ignorant, he doesn't know how things are done these days."
Romeo nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah, that's what I think too. Dad, you don't have to do that for me, you've given me a debt no money can ever repay, your daughter. I'm afraid I can never do enough to pay you back for getting married to a woman like her. Please, I insist you accept this gift."
Kenneth nodded his head, trying to focus on what they were saying. "Uh uhm yeah, yeah I think... Okay. Let's do that since you keep insisting."
A smile drew on Romeo's face. "Good then, would you like to have something to eat before we hit the road?"
"I know there will be more than enough to eat at the hotel, let's hit the road and forward the coordinates to Aria's parents." Joshua stated.
They all agreed to his suggestion and started to leave Cara's apartment. Cara drew Romeo back and whispered softly, "so tell me, how much really is everything?"
Of course, his fiancee could tell that he had been lying earlier. He smiled softly and responded, this time, honestly. "Just a small sum of fifteen million dollars. But don't get my intention wrong, I wasn't trying to mock your parents or anything.
"I didn't cut the price because I thought they couldn't pay it, I would never try to insult your parents in that way. I just thought that if your dad kept insisting on paying me back then the least I could do was accept half the price."
Cara smiled softly, obviously not angry by his intentions. "I know, besides, it's too much for my dad to pay. I could afford it but someone like my dad or Miranda would see it as a waste of money and honestly... So would I."
Romeo let out a soft chuckle. "I got the best suites cause I wanted to treat them to the best in the entire city. They'll like it."
"So do people actually book those kinds of expensive rooms?" She questioned, quite surprised. She did not know how much one room would cost but it was obviously around the range of five million dollars.
"Like I said earlier, it was fully booked. I had to plead with them to go elsewhere and refunded them." He explained briefly.
"Which means..." She gasped softly. "You lost fifteen million dollars because of us!" Her voice was higher than she had expected it to be.
All eyes turned back towards them, "fifteen million?" Miranda asked. "Because of us? How?"
"Oh it's nothing mum," Romeo said with a gentle smile. "It's just a line from a movie teaching on how to run a proper business."
"Oh..." She smiled softly. She always liked it when he called her mum rather than ma'am.
Romeo called her whatever came to his mouth while trying to be as respectful as he could be.
With a smile, she nodded her head and turned around back.
A soft sigh left Cara's mouth. "Thank you..." She whispered softly.
They all got into their cars and drove off to Romeo's hotel. Their suites had already been cleaned and properly set up.
Joshua had anticipated something relating to royalty themed, but it was far more better than what he had anticipated. There were no words to describe the beauty of each rooms, they were incredibly spacious and the beds were impossibly soft.
The bathroom was better and more exquisite than the living room of their house. How could that even be possible? How did he do it?
Romeo was pleased that they were satisfied by what they saw. It was time to say goodbye and get to work.
In the car, he explained the process to her. "The restriction order is ready and I'm going to get it tomorrow when I get a call from you. Along with me, two police officers will be there to make sure he cannot do anything funny.
"Also, your security matters most to me in this world, so I hired a team of bodyguards. It doesn't make any sense to me that you go around on your own."
She added sharply, "but you go around on your own too, I mean this isn't some TV show or something and I am not the president's daughter--"
"You're right," he cut her off, "it isn't some movie or TV show, it's real life, the more reason an escort is very important. Also, you are not the president's daughter, you are my wife, an Armani, you are far more important."
She sighed, knowing her fiance would definitely do as he had said. That was the kind of man he was, he stuck to his words always.
"Okay fine, I'll take the escort. To be honest, I'm a little afraid myself, Chris is more psychotic than I thought he was and the thought of him doing something crazy just keeps popping into my mind."
Romeo reached out and took her trembling hands in his, "Chris might be a psycho, but I'm an Armani. Not to brag but I hold more power than a crazy person which is why I am making use of that power now to make sure you are kept safe now and always. Okay?"
She nodded her head, her lips spreading into a slight smile.
They drove back to Cara's place where they intended to spend the night. There were still some little preparations for their wedding needed that kept them on their phones but such distraction was well needed.
It helped take the thought of Chris harming her off of Cara's mind and all she focused on, all she could focus on was her wedding just a day away.
After so long, she would be united with the one she truly loved and she could finally start her own family.
Nothing was going to spoil that for her.
