Chapter 149 7 Million Dollars
Romeo felt like he was on a vacation, it had been a while since he got the chance to relax like that. Of course he had to tend to emergency calls from work but apart from that, he felt so loved and welcomed by Cara's entire family.
But alas, it came to an end. Just as everything in life does. But he did not feel like he was saying goodbye to them, after all, they were all returning back together for the wedding.
Just a day standing before him and his so long anticipated wedding with the woman of his dreams. But that day in between was not a day he was looking forward to.
Cara would finally come straight with Chris, not that she had not done so before, but she would spell the words out loud and clear for him. All he could do was hope that it would go well. She planned on giving him a restriction notice, just to make him aware of how much she wished to keep him away.
But all that was not what he needed to focus on just yet, everything was prepared expect for the discussion with Chris itself. Instead, he focused on finding accommodation for his in laws.
They all arrived at Cara's apartment and settled in. Unlike Cara had suggested, they all could not stay at her place, she did not own enough rooms for her father, Miranda, her brother and his wife as well.
Also, Aria's parents would be coming as well and they would need a place to stay.
As big as her apartment was, it was a small apartment with two rooms.
"What about my wife and I get a hotel? Dad and Miranda can stay here with you." Joshua suggested. "Don't worry about the funds, I can rent a good place for us and get somewhere for my in-laws as well."
Romeo smiled softly. "That won't be necessary, I just needed some time to set things up properly. I don't any hotel can give you a treatment as good as ours."
"Ours?" Joshua's brow arched in confusion.
Romeo nodded his head softly. "I have a hotel in my name, soon to be in Cara's name after our marriage. I think you can stay there for as long as you want. I only had you come here so i could clear out some rooms for you, apparently, the entire place was booked."
Their jaws dropped. "You own a hotel too?" Miranda asked, not hiding the surprise on her face.
"I knew it..." Joshua added softly. "Come on Miranda, it's the Armani's only heir we are talking about here! What don't they own? They literally own more than half of the world."
A soft chuckle left Romeo's mouth but he said nothing to counter his brother-in-law to be. After all, he was only off by a little.
"Oh my goodness!" Miranda exclaimed. "The world! Not the city?!"
"Miranda," Joshua put a hand over her shoulder. "Don't be so old fashioned. Back in the day, people weren't allowed to own properties like that but now, you can buy the entire world as long as you have the money!"
His eyes trailed to Romeo. "Brother-in-law, not that I was stalking or anything but the other day, I made a little research about you and i found out that you own a property or two in almost all the countries in the entire world!
"Some of them are non profit making establishment, he helps the poor and the needy a lot, Miranda. Dad, you should be like him a little bit, don't be so stingy."
Kenneth made a gesture like he wanted to hit his son and they all shared a soft laugh.
"Then..." Kenneth said softly. "How much does a night cost in your hotel? We definitely cannot leach off of you just because you are getting married to our daughter."
"Of course," Romeo said. "Business isn't done like that in the Armani family. Payments have already been made so it can't be booked by anyone else."
Kenneth was confused and he was not the only one. "It's already booked? How?"
"Your family member already paid the deposit for a week." Romeo simply responded.
It made them even more confused. "Family?" Miranda's brow arched. "What family is that?"
"Did Cara really pay for all of us? Six people?!" Joshua questioned, somewhat surprised. "How could she afford such expensive service? Is the company really doing well?" He inquired.
Cara was just as confused as the rest of them. "The company is doing well but I didn't book any rooms."
"Come on guys," Romeo called out. His lips formed into a pout. "I am actually a little disappointed in all of you, am I not considered as family just yet?"
"Oh...!" Miranda clapped her hands. "i am so sorry my dear,"
They all shared a soft laugh.
Kenneth stepped forward. "As much as I feel so honored by your gesture, I do not think i can accept it. I want to refund you, how much do we owe you?"
"Dad? Are you out of your mind?" Joshua said to his father, not to insult him though. "Do you think anyone can pay back the Armani? When they offer a help to you, all you have to do is take it because it means it is wayyy out of your reach!"
Romeo immediately waved his hands. "Oh no! No not at all, please I am in no way trying to insult you."
"Not insult, I know." Kenneth responded. "Just tell me, how much do I owe you? I will pay back if I can, i don't want to start our relationship like this."
Romeo let out a soft sigh. "You don't have to..." He felt so defenseless. His emerald eyes turned to look at Cara but all he got in response was a shrug.
Bringing a smile back to his face, he decided to tell them part of the price since Kenneth was so fixed on paying him back. Half the price maybe? "Just... Seven million dollars?"
"Seven... Seven!" Miranda exclaimed. "Oh my goodness..."
