Chapter 73
Today is the day of the ally summit so the hideaway has a very somber atmosphere. Everyone is quiet and in contemplation as they eat breakfast.
“What time do we need to be there?” Sadie finally breaks the silence.
“We should be there by 10 so we can make sure everything is ready and set for the meeting. We don’t know how many people so we need to be prepared for anything.” Jake replies.
“I think we should use one of the ball rooms so we make sure we have enough room for everyone.” Greg adds.
Everyone nods in agreement.
“Well let’s get cleaned up and head out then.” Sonya says to the group.
Jake gets up from the table and kisses Sonya’s temple. He picks up plates off the table and him and Jim do the dishes while Sonya puts the leftovers away.
Everyone goes into shower and get ready. They all come together in the living room after getting ready.
“I think we should take the armored vehicles today.” Jake says before they get up to leave.
“We should have Alpha Scott and anyone coming from the packhouse in the other one.” Jim says.
They all nod in agreement before Sonya texts Reginald to tell him to take the armored vehicle. Since they need to be there before anyone else they leave the hideaway right away to get everything set up. They are followed by 2 SUVs of elite guards.
It takes about an hour to get to Red Moon. Once on the pack grounds they make their way to the packhouse so they can get one of the ball rooms set up. Jim directs the elite warriors where to stand and what their tasks will be for the day.
“I want 2 guards at each door and 1 to direct people where to go from the front door. The rest of the warriors will be coming with Alpha Scott.”
“Yes, Gamma.” They all say in unison.
Jake and Greg start setting up and moving tables where they want them in the biggest ball room. Sadie, Sonya, and Claire start setting out chairs. Jim comes in after confirming there is no one around the packhouse and no direct threats. He continues helping with the tables and a podium area for any speeches necessary.
“I actually don’t think we should use the podium. We want this to be an allyship so it would make sense that we speak just normally and not make it formal.” Sonya says to the group.
Jake smiles and walks to her pulling her into his arms. “You are so right my beautiful Luna. Let’s get rid of the podium and let’s maybe circle the tables and chairs around so make it more informal.” Jake kisses Sonya’s lips and they make their way to help reorganize the tables and chairs.
“Perfect. Now we need drinks and snacks.” Sadie says. “Claire why don’t you and I go into the kitchen and see what we can come up with.”
“Lead the way.” Claire says with a smile.
Jim follows as well as a guard just in case. They come back about 20 minutes later with water, tea, and coffee as well as a wide assortment of breads, donuts, and cakes.
Sonya helps set up a few tables at the front of the room by the door with the food and drinks.
“We should have someone taking notes while we talk through everything. It would be a good idea to get contact info after the meeting as well. I think it would be asking too much to get it first.” Sonya says.
“I totally agree. Sadie and Claire can you both handle that?” Jake askes them.
“Yes, Alpha. No problem.” Sadie says.
“I would be honored.” Claire says. “Sadie you work on the notes only and I will take some small notes but I will mostly focus on contacts and who we can trust, etc.”
“That’s perfect.” Sonya says. “Now we wait. People should start arriving shortly since it’s almost time. Jake we should go to the front doors and wait.”
“Yes, my love. Greg and Jim I want you both in the hall until the first 2 people are here and then Jim I want you back in this hall.” Jake demands.
“Yes, Alpha.” They say in unison.
Jake nods and leads Sonya out with a hand on the small of her back. “I love you baby.” He whispers in her ear.
“I love you too. I’m so nervous. What if Hades finds out and shows up?”
“Then we will deal with him. It will be okay. Do not leave my or Greg’s side today for any reason. Even to go to the bathroom, you need to have one of us with you all the time.”
“Yes, my love. I promise.”
Jake stops them about halfway down the hallway and pulls her into a hug. “I will protect you and our pups. No one will ever touch you again my love.”
“Thank you for being so wonderful.”
“Thank you for being you. I love you.”
“I love you too.” They share a deep, passionate kiss but they are interrupted by Greg clearing his throat.
Greg looks at them with a smirk on his face. “I’m sorry, but it’s almost time. We really need to get you two to the door to welcome people in.”
They both chuckle before they nod and break apart finishing the walk to the front door.
