Epilogue
All of the best moments in my life I'd spent with Emre, but then all of the most heartbreaking ones were with him too.
Love is a double-edged sword, I thought as I helped to cart off everything from the yacht.
What a trip! I would never forget this trip in my entire life.
Life was so insane—a few days could change everything and everyone around you.
Even your perspective about people can change, I thought as I saw Pelin looking at Zayn behind his back.
Eric came up to me. "I can drive you back if you want."
"No, it's okay. I can manage." I knew everyone would offer me a ride back, and I sure as hell wasn't going back with him.
"I wanted to talk to you." He looked sheepish. "Clear up all the misunderstandings between us actually."
"Eric, there isn't anything between us—not even misunderstandings," I was very clear in my answer, so he would take the hint. He wasn't going to get anything from me ever again.
Probably not from Pelin either.
Thankfully Emre called me over. He had my lost sunscreen in his hands.
"You found it, thanks!" I made to take it from him, but he resisted, catching my hand in his instead.
"Are you going back with Eric?" he asked me.
"No, I'm not insane," I replied.
"Why are you going?" he asked me.
"What do you mean?" What a strange question.
"Stay, stay with me."
My eyes widened. "On your ship?"
He nodded.
"But I don't have any clothes," I whispered.
"You won't need any," Emre replied, then shook his head and continued, "I mean, you can wear my clothes. It never used to bother you before."
"I… can't." I didn't know what to say.
"Why?" he asked me.
Thankfully, Mert interrupted us before I could say anything.
Ashton came up to us and dragged me by the hand towards where everyone was assembled.
Mert and Emre followed.
"You know I'm still angry at you, right?" I asked Ashton.
"I know, I know. I'll work on it. I'll say sorry so many times you'll have to forgive me," he replied.
I knew I couldn't stay mad at him for long. We had become too close.
I thought about what Emre had said as everyone thanked Emre and said their goodbyes. Melisa hugged me and asked me if we could have a girl night soon. Pelin interjected and asked us if she could be invited too. Melisa widened her eyes at me and accepted.
Pelin then took my hand and asked me, "No hard feelings?"
"Please?" she added when I didn't reply.
I nodded and she smiled.
Wow, that was a change.
The beginning hadn't been great, but at least this trip was ending better.
Everyone started to leave in groups, mostly couples, and I was left to decide.
As Mert picked up a box to carry to his car, he asked me, "You wanna ride with us, Sarah?"
Before I could reply, Ashton said, "No, she's coming with me. I'll drop her on my way."
"Where do you live?" Pelin asked me, "Maybe I could drive you back?"
Is she trying to make amends? I wondered.
Before anyone else could offer me a ride, I quickly replied to everyone at once.
"I don't need a ride home," I said, looking over at Emre, "At least not now. Emre has graciously offered to show me one of the famous coves I've always wanted to see."
"So you're staying? With Emre?" asked Mert teasingly.
"Yes, I'm staying with Emre…" I said, not caring what anyone thought.
"Oh," Pelin said and then smiled, "Have a good trip."
Only Zerrin and Eric looked shocked and didn't say anything.
Emre took my hand and kissed the back of it. "We will," he said.
Zayn let out a wolf whistle, and Melisa smiled at me.
"So we'll leave you two alone then," Ashton teased us.
We waved off everyone amid some teasing and well wishes.
"So you decided to have mercy and forgive me?" Emre asked me.
"I decided to give us another chance."
I let out a scream as Emre scooped me up in his arms, then carried me onto his yacht.
"Now, tell me? Which cove did you want to see?" His expression was curious.
"I made it up," I confessed.
"Well then, I'll take you to a cove I like."
"Which one?"
"My bedroom! To finally finish what we started this morning."
"Emre!"
"Right here, baby…kiss me?" He didn't wait for an answer, just caught my mouth in his and carried me into his room.
