Chapter Thirty-Three

“Domino!” Jaden growled.

The scratch was pure pain, more painful than any other scratch I’d experienced in my life. The scratch burned like someone peppered little flames on it and I could feel my cheeks slowly swelling.

“Are you ok?”

My pain from my cheek took too much of my attention for me to reply back to Jaden.

Unexpectedly, he turned around and pounced on the vampire the way he did on the prey previously.

The vampire let out a screech again, while Jaden growled at him. I stopped running and I raised my front paw to my cheek. The blood still kept dripping and it hurt even more.

I looked at Jaden and I wanted to help and not just sit at a side, watching them gnaw at each other.

I was about to help when Jaden slammed his paws on the screeching vampire's chest, bringing his teeth up to its neck and he tore it off. The vampire's body throbbed just before it turned into dust and vanished into thin air.

“Domino, are you ok?”

I ran up to him, a bit freaked out by all that happened.

I didn't understand what he was doing, but he rubbed his neck against mine. It felt good, feeling his fur against mine.

“You’re okay baby.” He assured.

Dazed, I nodded slowly.

“Good, did he scratch you?” Jaden asked. I didn't know if he was mad or relieved but I nodded.

“Let me see.” I tilted my head slowly so he could see it.

“Does it still hurt?”

I nodded.

“Stay still.” Jaden took one step closer me and I could feel his warmth. I shivered a little. He leaned in and licked my wound gently.

My chest tightened as I felt the sparks and tingling from the impact of his tongue against my own body. The burnings sensation on my cheeks persisted. I didn't know if it was weird or comfortable feeling his warm tongue against my skin.

He licked my wound again. This time, my stomach squeezed tightly and my breath quickened as his tongue’s hot trail lingered in the air.

When he stepped back, I felt lightheaded.

Breath Domino! I had to remind myself to breath before I collapsed.

“Are you tired?”

I notice that some of the pain went away. I smiled as I nodded.

“The sun is rising anyways, let's sleep.”

“Where?”

Jaden didn't reply, all he did was walk off, I just followed him. Every few moments, I turned back to see if there are going to be any more vampire attacks.

“Relax, they are not going to come back.”

I blushed, I felt like he could read my mind perfectly when I couldn't even hear his thoughts or feel his emotions.

We kept on walking into the forest until we found a perfect spot that was completely covered with clean glass. I sighed and laid down.

Jaden laid down next to me, turning so that he would face me. I blushed in return before turning my back towards him.

I quietly watched as the sun slowly rose.

Some of the scenes from today flashed in my memory as I smiled in approval or frowned in disgust.

But I didn't know why I couldn’t sleep. Was it because he was right next to me or because the way he made contact with my cheek and neck?

It could also be due to the fact that the day was very intense, interesting and different.

I kept on thinking about him when suddenly, I realized that he could be listening to my thoughts if he was awake. My heart rate increased.

I quickly turned around to see if his eyes were closed.

“Jaden?” I asked, as my paw touched him to see if he would react to that. And just by that little contact, my whole body tingled and warmth spread through me.

“Are you awake?” I asked softly.

He didn't say anything. He was asleep. I smiled to myself in relief.

I was about to turn around and sleep when I decided to stare at him for a moment. Soon, I started to feel sleepy.

“Jaden, I just wanted to thank you for today because it was beautiful and I would surely treasure this day for the rest of my life.”

“Jaden, I am really sorry for what I did to you to make you mad at me. I really didn't mean to make you mad. I’m so sorry.”

“Why didn't you just tell me what I did wrong , instead of the cold shoulder? So that I would know and we could move past it. Leaving me to figure it out wouldn’t fetch us any progress.”

“Remember that promise ring you gave me? I want it back Jaden, I want you to keep your promise. I really, really want you to.”

“Or maybe you don't have to anymore because I think it is coming true now.”

“Jaden, I don't know when this happened and how this happened, but it did. My feelings are really starting to get stronger and stronger. It's so strong, it scares me and I can't ignore it anymore.”

“It's like there in my chest and it will always be there, it can't and won’t go away. And I want to tell you right now, always wanted to, but I know that you would think otherwise.”

“I know that I will never be your type, even if I’m your mate. But, I really want to tell you how I feel, I want to tell someone how I feel about you. I really, really like you, Jaden.”

“Jaden, I think I might even be falling in l-”

A sudden wave of sleepiness hit me and I blacked out, unable to complete the statement. I drifted off into oblivion.

“What, Domino? Say it Domino… please say it.” He replied but I was long gone.
