Chapter 165 Unexpected Action
Chapter 165 Unexpected Action
ZAVIYAAR SHEIKH
“Just get that old dude out of the way, Boss. Do it sneakily,” Hashir gave me the worst idea possible.
“And repeat the whole process which happened with Asim? No, thank you,”
“If she is married then why are you going? Let’s go back, nothing is left anymore,”
“No. There is something,”
‘Still I didn't know why, I wasn’t able to convince myself.’
Maybe because it was too painful? Too unbearable? So unbelievable, at lea0st for me.
That it eradicated my remaining hope and another heartfelt yearning of mine was left unfulfilled…
Just like everything in my life.
“You will gain nothing, Boss,” He sighed in disappointment.
“I know,”
I had five days left before my flight. I hope I could get a chance to hear from her again because I doubt I would work with Zariah.
The next day, as expected, I went but didn’t find her car.
Was she absent? Did she come with someone?
Should I wait? Or ask?
When I was lost in my thoughts, I heard a girl whining behind, causing me to glance from my shoulder as I saw a fifteen years old girl.
“We are getting late, Mama.”
“It’s your fault. You should have told me the function isn’t happening here. Shit, I can’t find any cab,” Her mother sighed.
“I am sorry. Papa has left too. How can we reach on time? Please, I have my disappointment, I don’t want to disappoint Ma’am Aalifa,” She spoke, on the verge of crying, probably her student.
And at her mention, my body acted on its own as I used my most charming demeanor and walked up to them.
“Hey, you look troubled, little miss. Do you need help? I know her. My name is Zaviyaar,”
I didn’t use her name because I had no idea what her last name was. Was she using her last name or that man’s?
“We have a function and I just came to know it was supposed to happen at a hall,” She told me sorrowfully, not sure whether to trust me.
“How do you know her?” Her Mother asked.
“Her dance teacher is my acquaintance, she was quite popular in my country. Known as Noor-e-Jaan, which means light of life, she had done a lot of shows for me too,”
I grinned. Telling her about the time where she was non-existent for me.
Where I had no idea that the love of my life was performing in my own shows… Ah, destiny.
“Really?! She was popular!?”
“Yes. So can I help you? I offer you a ride,”
“Sure. Thank you, Sir,”
She nodded happily and instructed me the way as I dropped them at the auditorium they were supposed to reach.
Apparently, some mean girl gave her wrong information and she almost missed her chance but thankfully, I could help.
“There we are. Take care,”
“You won’t come? Ma’am would be happy to see you. She has worked for you, right?”
She must be busy, I didn’t want to disturb Aalifa. That was why she left me hanging yesterday too.
“Well, yes, but I am not sure. I don’t think I will be allowed,”
“It’s okay, you can come with me. Please, Sir, you have helped us,” She insisted, earning a chuckle from me as to how I could miss this chance?
We took me with her, I was hesitant. I stood away, not wanting to give a wrong idea and contemplated the hall.
“She is in the back. Let’s go and greet her,” She beamed, taking me along.
I was unsure but she took me to the back stage where among the crowd, my eyes fell on the stunning figure.
“Ma’am!”
“Ah, Jessie, there you are! Where were you?” Aalifa turned and rushed to her side but froze when she saw me.
“Zaviyaar?”
“Ma’am, look, your friend help me,”
“May I witness the apprentices of the famous Noor-e-Jaan?” I asked politely, placing my hand over my heart to bow a little.
“Why didn’t you tell us that you were famous?”
“Because that is against the policy and if you want me to keep my job then be quiet about it, okay?” Aalifa scolded her, not removing her unfathomable eyes from mine.
“Okay, sorry,”
“Good. Your performance is in a few minutes, get ready,” Smiling, she patted the girl’s head as she rushed to get ready.
I continued to stare at her, drowning so beautifully in her eyes to never find a shore again. She narrowed her eyes, wanting to speak but couldn’t.
Ending in a sigh, she paused, averting her gaze and murmuring.
“You shouldn’t have come here,”
“I didn’t intend to either, she took me here to express her gratitude,” I replied softly, closing the gap which made my heart skip a beat.
“Look, Zaviyaar, I truly want to see you for something but this is not the right time or situation,” She replied in the same tone, coming closer, doing something eerily beautiful to my soul.
‘Come closer, so close that our shadows would lock and nothing could unlock it- Aargh! Shut up.’
“I know. Of course, you have this event, your student. You must have a lot of work. Don’t worry, I will watch as a spectator and leave,” I reassured her, moving my hand in the air.
I almost turned but my steps refused to leave her proximity, it was too difficult to walk from her.
“Thanks for understanding,”
Gulping down my emotions, I kept my forced smile, resting my hands in my pockets like how I had contained my feelings.
“But, before I go? Can I tell you something?”
I turned to leave but stopped before I could walk again.
“What?”
“Each time we leave each other, I feel extremely frightened to fathom if I will get a chance to see you again or not,”
“Don’t worry. We will,”
“Probably for the last time too,”
Realizing my words and a second of horror on her face, I paused. The realization of my statement induced a strange pain.
And failing to bear it, a tear reached her eyelids as we both attempted to correct those words but worsening things-
I had no idea that her hus- that damn guy was here too who barged in violently, probably hearing and seeing us so near.
“Aalifa- What the fuck are you doing with him?!”
Shattering my rhythm, I inhaled sharply to not create trouble for her and force my numb legs to maintain my distance.
“Ahmer, listen,”
She gasped, not moving an inch with a tear of pain converting into… dread.
“Shut the hell up! You have been meeting with him behind my back. How dare you!”
To his yelling, she tried holding his arm which he yanked away, causing me to narrow my eyes.
“This is not what you think-”
“I said shut your damn mouth!”
Before my mind could register, before everyone, he slapped her across her face, earning a series of gasps.
My jaw dropped, “What the-”
“Ahmer, I am sorry, listen, please-”
Not hearing further, he forcefully dragged her with him while we all stood flabbergasted to perceive what the fuck did just happen.
