Chapter 163 My uncle is my mate
Chapter 163 My uncle is my mate
Third Person POV
Lilian walked back to her room, her mind a whirlwind of emotions. The revelation Aurora had shared weighed heavily on her heart. Lucas, her twin brother, had been Aurora's first mate and had rejected her.
The pain Aurora must have endured and the reasons behind Lilian's own feelings of betrayal now made more sense. She sighed, running a hand through her hair, trying to process everything.
As she reached her door, lost in thought, she bumped into someone solid. She looked up, ready to give them a piece of her mind, only to be met with the intense gaze of a man she assumed to be her father.
"Dad?" she began, anger and confusion warring within her. "Why didn't you tell me you and Aurora were mates? Why keep something like this from me? You-"
Before she could finish, the man's eyes darkened, and he growled, "Mate." The word was a low, possessive rumble that sent shivers down her spine.
Lilian's eyes widened in shock. She stepped back, her back hitting her door as the realization of his words sank in. This wasn't her father. She barely had time to react before the man in front of her moved with the speed and precision of a predator.
He pounced, closing the distance between them in an instant. His strong arms wrapped around her, and before she could protest, his lips were on hers, kissing her with a fervent intensity that left her breathless. 2
Lilian's mind raced, trying to make sense of what was happening. The kiss was demanding, yet there was an underlying current of desperation and need. She felt her own body respond despite her confusion, her hands instinctively reaching up to grasp his shirt.
The kiss seemed to last forever and no time at all. When he finally pulled back, they were both breathing hard, their foreheads resting against each other. She looked up into his eyes, seeing the fierce, raw emotion there.
"Caleb?" she whispered, the pieces finally falling into place.
She had never met her father's twin brother, but she had heard of him. And now, standing so close, she felt the undeniable bond that linked them.
Her wolf leaped in her head chanting "Mate. Mate. Mate."
"Yes," he rasped, his voice filled with emotion. "I'm Caleb. Your mate."
Lilian's mind spun with the revelation. She stared into his eyes, so similar yet distinct from her father's, and saw the truth there. "Mate? But how...why now? You are my uncle"
Caleb's grip on her tightened as if fearing she might slip away. "I didn't know. Not until I saw you. The moment our eyes met, it hit me like a thunderbolt. You are mine, Lilian. My mate."
Lilian's heart pounded in her chest. The intensity of his words, the fervor in his eyes-it was overwhelming.
"But you're...you're my father's brother. This is...complicated. This is not right"
"Complicated?" Caleb echoed, his voice a mix of frustration and determination. "Yes, it is. But the bond we share-it's undeniable, Lilian. I've waited my entire life to find my mate. I didn't expect it to be you, but now that I know, I can't let you go."
Lilian's emotions were a tempest. She had always dreamed of finding her mate, but she never imagined it would be Caleb. She had heard stories of him-how he was different from her father, a bit of a rogue, yet fiercely loyal and protective.
Now, looking at him, feeling the heat of his body so close to hers, she couldn't deny the pull between them. She felt this pill in between her thighs. Something she has never felt before after her first time in highschool.
"Uncle Caleb," she began, her voice trembling. "This is...a lot. I don't even know you."
"Call me Caleb." He said with a groan, pressing his forehead to hers. His eyes are the only different things from her father. How is this possible?
"Then get to know me," he urged, his tone softening. "Give me a chance, Lilian. I promise I'll be everything you need."
She stared at him, searching his face. There was something about him--an honesty, a vulnerability—that called to her. Despite the whirlwind of confusion and the myriad questions swirling in her mind, one thing was clear: the bond they shared was real, and it was powerful.
With a deep breath, Lilian nodded. "Okay. But you have to give me time. This is...new." Caleb's expression softened, relief washing over his features. "I'll give you all the time you need. Just promise me you won't shut me out."
"I promise," she whispered, feeling the weight of her words settle between them. She didn't know what the future held, but for the first time in a long while, she felt a spark of hope.
