Chapter 161 Alpha King and Queen

Chapter 161 Alpha King and Queen
Alpha Caden's POV

Returning to the palace after our week in South Africa felt surreal. That time had been a

sanctuary, a retreat where Aurora and I could rebuild our bond away from the pressures of our roles.

But now, the weight of the throne and the reality of court politics bore down on us as we approached the palace's grand entrance.

Aurora stayed close to my side, her hand gripping mine tightly. The palace, once a place of familiarity and routine, now seemed cold and oppressive after our brief escape.

My thoughts were consumed by the upcoming coronation and the disturbing news Caleb, my newly discovered twin brother, had brought to light.

Caleb had appeared out of nowhere, a living reminder of the family secrets and past deceptions that seemed to plague our lineage.

His resemblance to me was uncanny, but his demeanor held a hardness that set him apart. Despite the shock of discovering a twin, it was his revelation about Alexander's treachery that had driven us back to the palace sooner than planned.

As we entered the main hall, the atmosphere was charged with tension. Advisors and elders whispered amongst themselves, their expressions grave.

Caleb stood apart, his presence commanding attention. He caught my eye and nodded, beckoning us into a private chamber away from prying eyes. I know Aurora was shocked seeing how much we look alike but she was quiet.

"Aurora, Caden," Caleb began, his voice steady but urgent. "We need to talk. Alexander's plotting runs deeper than we imagined."

Aurora's grip on my hand tightened, a silent show of support. I turned to Caleb, trying to keep my emotions in check. "Tell me everything," I said, my voice calm but firm.

Caleb outlined Alexander's scheme in detail. It was a web of bribery, deceit, and manipulation, all aimed at discrediting me and seizing the throne for himself. He had been paying off influential elders and planting false evidence, all while maintaining a facade of loyalty.

Aurora listened intently, her eyes flashing with anger. "How did he think he could get away with this?" she demanded, her voice trembling with controlled rage.

Caleb's expression was grim. "He's been planning this for years. He thought his network of deceit was impenetrable. But we have the evidence now, thanks to an elder who refused to be bought."

I nodded, my mind racing. "We need to act fast. The coronation must go ahead, and Alexander must be exposed. We can't let his treachery undermine our rule."

Caleb agreed. "We have allies among the elders and the warriors. They will support us. But we must remain vigilant. Alexander will not go down without a fight."

The plan was set. We would proceed with the coronation to solidify my position as Alpha King, while simultaneously exposing Alexander's treachery to strip him of his power and influence.

Later that evening, I found a moment of peace with Aurora. We had retired to our chambers, the weight of the day's revelations heavy on our shoulders. I pulled her close, her warmth a comforting reminder of our bond.

"We'll get through this. I'm glad you are back," I whispered, kissing her forehead. "Together, we're unstoppable."

She looked up at me, her eyes filled with determination and love. "I know we will," she replied softly. "And once the coronation is over, we can focus on our future. Our child will grow up in a kingdom ruled by justice and love."

I smiled, feeling a surge of hope. The road ahead was fraught with challenges, but with Aurora by my side, I knew we could overcome anything. As we drifted off to sleep, the burden of our responsibilities felt lighter, buoyed by the love and trust we shared.

The next morning, preparations for the coronation were in full swing. The palace was a hive of activity, anticipation hanging in the air. I stood before the mirror, adjusting my ceremonial robes, feeling the enormity of the moment.

Aurora appeared beside me, radiant in her own attire. She placed a reassuring hand on my arm. "You're ready," she said, her voice filled with conviction.

I nodded, taking a deep breath. "We're ready."

Walking towards the grand hall, the cheers of our supporters echoed through the corridors. The time had come to claim our destiny and ensure that our kingdom was protected from those who sought to destroy it.

The coronation was a blur of vows and rituals, each step solidifying our commitment to the kingdom and to each other. When it was over, I stood before our people, Aurora by my side, feeling a sense of triumph and unity.

With the coronation complete, we turned our attention to Alexander. The evidence was presented, and his deceit was laid bare. The elders, swayed by the truth, stood with us. Alexander's power crumbled, and he was taken into custody.

As the dust settled, I looked at Aurora, my heart swelling with pride and love. We had faced our greatest challenge and emerged stronger for it. Our future was bright, and with Aurora and our unborn child by my side, I knew that we could conquer anything.

Back in the privacy of our chambers, I pulled Aurora into my arms, holding her close. "We did it," I whispered, my voice filled with emotion.

She smiled up at me, her eyes shining. "Yes, we did. And now, we can focus on our future."

I kissed her, a promise of all the tomorrows we would share. In that moment, I knew that no matter what came our way, we would face it together, united by our love and our unbreakable bond.
