Chapter 72 FALLING

Chapter 72 FALLING
••Roman••

I can’t tell what Luci did to me, but I know that what we had tonight is something I’ve never experienced before.
The sex was different, she responded to my touch in a way that felt like a revelation. Her moans weren’t too loud or too low; they were just the right sounds to drive me crazy. Every time her body moved, every time she gasped or arched her back, I was more certain: this was the best night of my life.

It wasn’t just the pleasure, though; it was her. The way she opened up to me, the trust in her eyes. I’d never known anything like it. There was this rawness, but it wasn’t weakness. No, it was strength in its most beautiful form. And it was all for me.

Luci was more than just a woman to me now; she was my everything.

••Luciana••

The sound of clattering woke me from my sleep, pulling me out of the dreamlike haze. I rubbed my eyes, trying to adjust to the light in the room. Roman was standing at the edge of the room, his back facing me. And, of course, as usual, he was shirtless. There were droplets of water on his skin, evidence of a recent shower.
For a second, I just stared at his back, the way his muscles flexed with every movement. Damn, that tattoo of his... the way it ran down his back like it was carved into him... I couldn’t help but admire him.

My gaze wandered further down, and, naturally, I saw that he was completely naked. That asshole.

"Can’t you fucking put on something?" I shouted from the bed, half-laughing but mostly trying to pretend I wasn’t flustered.

I was pretty sure he had a grin plastered on his face even though I couldn’t see it. “Good morning to you too, baby,” he said casually, not at all bothered by my outburst.

I pulled the duvet over my face, trying to shield myself from what I had just seen. “Just wear boxers or something, bitch.”

Roman, still with that nonchalant attitude, replied, “It’s nothing you haven’t seen before, Princess.”

“Can you just not be an asshole?” I groaned, rolling my eyes.

He smirked, but I could hear the humor in his voice. “Sorry, Princess.” I thought he might comply, but then he dropped the bomb. “Do you want a proper view?” he goaded, his voice low and teasing.

Motherfucker.

I pulled the duvet down to peek, and he was standing there, tying a towel around his waist. I couldn’t help but smirk. The way he played with me.

"Thank you for keeping your little man under wraps," I teased.

"Oh, don’t fuck with me,” he said, turning toward me, his tone a little more serious now. “I know it’s even bigger than you must have expected."

"Are you sure about that?" I shot back, raising an eyebrow.

"Maybe you want to measure it again," he said, starting to loosen the towel.

I shot up in the bed, throwing my hands over my eyes. “Don’t!” I screamed, half-laughing, half-terrified.

Roman just laughed, obviously enjoying every second of this teasing. He had to have found whatever he was looking for in his drawer, because he quickly pulled on a plain white shirt and black trousers. I could only watch as he stood in front of the mirror, checking himself out.

"That one is nice," I said, pointing to the ash and black stripes tie he had on now. "It complements you."

He looked at me and smiled. "Thank you, baby."

When he was done dressing, he came over and sat beside me on the bed. His eyes softened as he studied me, his hand gently brushing against my cheek.

"How are you feeling?" he asked softly, his voice almost tender.

I didn’t want to look him in the eye, my cheeks flushed from everything that had happened. “I’m fine,” I said, trying to sound nonchalant. I wasn’t ready to face the vulnerability I felt right now.

“Are you sure?” He pressed, his voice still soft but with a hint of concern.

“Yeah. I feel okay. Just a little sore,” I admitted, my gaze finally meeting his.

“I’m sorry, baby. Do you need anything?” He asked again, his voice full of care.

I shook my head. “No, I’m good,” I said, offering him a small smile.

He pulled me into a tight hug and began to caress my hair. He seemed to find so much comfort in that, in holding me like this. And, if I was being honest, I did too.

“You mean a lot to me, Luci,” he said, his voice full of emotion. “I always want you to be happy. What makes you happy, makes me happy, hmm? I love you, baby.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead, then to my cheek.

“Thank you, Rom,” I whispered, my heart swelling in my chest.

“Why are you thanking me?” he muttered, confused by my words.

"Thank you for taking care of me," I said softly.

“I always will, princess,” he promised, squeezing me tighter.

“Now, I have to go. I’ll be back before evening, so take care of yourself,” he said, grabbing his bag.

“Bye, Roman,” I said quietly, watching as he left. He’d transformed into someone I never thought he could be. The silent prince had become soft, caring... everything I had needed without even knowing it.

I found myself falling for him, helplessly, and I didn’t want to stop.
