Chapter 107 YOU’RE SO ANNOYING
••Luciana••
“Roman! Stop it!” I screamed, trying to shield myself as another wave of cold seawater hit my face.
“Don’t you dare pour water on my nightwear. It’s my favorite one, Roman!”
I was wearing a silk piece that I absolutely loved, and now it was clinging to my body, soaked and ruined by the salt.
But Roman didn't look like he cared at all. He had that mischievous glint in his eyes that usually meant trouble for me. Before I could even turn around to run back to the dry sand, I felt his large, strong arms wrap around my waist.
He hoisted me up over his shoulder like I was nothing more than a sack of grain.
“Put me down! Roman, I’m serious, put me down right now!” I shouted, pounding my fists against his back.
“You wanted to talk about rules, Princess,” he chuckled, his voice vibrating against my stomach. “Rule number one: Don’t threaten your husband with a fork.”
“I was joking! Roman, leave me!” I was screaming now, half-laughing and half-terrified because I knew exactly where he was heading. He was walking deeper into the surf, the water rising up to his knees, then his thighs.
“Roman, please! The water is cold!”
He didn't listen. He gave me one last wicked grin, lifted me higher, and then—splash!
He dropped me right into the water. I went under for a second, the shock of the cold ocean hitting my skin, and when I surfaced, I was gasping and pushing my wet hair out of my face.
“You son of a bitch!” I yelled, wiping the salt from my eyes.
Roman was already jogging back toward the shore, laughing his head off. I scrambled to my feet, my soaked nightwear heavy and dragging against my legs. “I’ll kick your ass, Roman! Just wait until I catch you!”
He turned around, walking backward and sticking his tongue out at me like a total brat. “I’ll kick yours too, Luci! You have to catch me first!”
“Fuck you!” I yelled, finally reaching the shallower water and sprinting after him.
I didn't get very far. Roman stopped suddenly, turned, and ran back toward me. Before I could even swing at him, he grabbed me by my wrists, pinning them together and smirking down at me.
We were both panting, our chests heaving, the sun now fully up and warming the water around us.
He looked around the secluded beach, his eyes dark and lingering on the curves of my body that were now clearly visible through the wet silk.
“We haven’t fucked here yet,” he said, his voice dropping into that low, gravelly tone that always made my knees weak. He looked around the empty, beautiful expanse of sand and sea. “What do you think, Princess?”
I stared at him, my jaw dropping. “What? Fuck out here? In the open? Roman, you are insane. I hate you.”
“You don’t hate me,” he teased, pulling me closer until our wet bodies were pressed together.
“If you think I’m going to have sex with you for the rest of our vacation, you are delusional,” I snapped, though I couldn't stop the blush creeping up my neck.
“That’s your punishment for throwing me in the water. No more sex.”
Roman let out a deep, boisterous chuckle. “Oh, please. You’re even more sex-obsessed than I am, Luciana.”
“I am not!” I argued, trying to pull my wrists away, but he held firm.
“No?” He arched an eyebrow, a knowing smirk on his lips.
“Do I need to remind you about the day before yesterday? I was in the middle of a high-stakes conference call, working my ass off, and you came into the study. You started rubbing your hands all over my body, whispering in my ear until I finally had to hang up because I couldn't concentrate. You distracted me until we ended up on that desk.”
I felt my face heat up even more. “I only wanted some attention, Roman! One thing led to another, it wasn't a plan.”
“Sure it wasn't,” he whispered, his grip softening as he moved his hands from my wrists to my waist.
“We are all alone here, Luci. Don't worry. I rented the whole stretch. There isn't a soul for miles.”
And he was right. There was no one there. No guards, no staff, just the blue water and the white sand. My heart was racing, a mix of the cold water and the heat radiating from him.
As Roman started pulling off his clothes, tossing his linen shirt onto the sand, I found myself watching the muscles in his back ripple. The anger from being thrown in the water was vanishing, replaced by a familiar hunger.
“Can you just hurry up?” I said, trying to sound impatient.
Roman stopped, one hand on the button of his trousers, and laughed loudly. “See? Remember when I said you were sex-obsessed? You can’t even wait two minutes.”
I ignored his comment, looking away toward the horizon, but I couldn't hide the smile on my face.
When he finally pulled me down onto the sand, everything else faded away.
The feeling of the warm sun on our backs and the cool water occasionally washing over our ankles made everything feel so much more intense. It was raw, it was wild, and it was ours. Every touch felt like it was branded into my skin.
After it was all over, we lay there in the shallow surf, catching our breath. The water was gently bubbling around us, and I felt more relaxed than I had in years.
Roman propped himself up on his elbow, looking down at me with a teasing glint in his eyes. “I thought you said no sex until the end of the vacation, Princess. What happened to my punishment?”
I groaned, reaching up to cover my face with my hands. “Why do you always have to ruin every moment by being right? You’re so annoying.”
Roman laughed, leaning down to stop my rambling with a firm, lingering kiss. “I love you, Princess.”
“I love you too,” I whispered back, my heart feeling full.
As I lay there, I couldn't help but think about how much I had changed. I was doing everything I thought I wouldn't do, having sex on a beach like some crazy person. If the old Luciana could see me now, she wouldn't recognize me.
Roman seemed to know exactly what was on my mind. He leaned in, his nose brushing against mine, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
“We can do it again if you want,” he grinned. “You know, since you're so obsessed.”
I splashed a bit of water at him, laughing. “Don't push your luck, Asshole.”
