Sam pulled over in front of her house and he stared at her. She noticed his engine wasn't turned off, it simply meant he wasn't ready to talk.
"Thanks." She said disappointedly and opened the door, getting out. She closed the door and walked into the gate of her apartment, closing the gate before she stopped. She heard the revving of his car and then, he was gone. Peeping through the gate, she saw the rear of the car dissappear down the road. He wasn't ready to settle things. Maybe, she could stop trying.
"Hey." Alexa flopped on the chair in Cassidy's house while she walked around, looking like a ghost.
"Are you okay?" Alexa frowned.
"Where are the kids?" She ignored Alexa, taking a pack of popcorn and sitting beside her. She turned the TV.
"School. They'll be finishing their exams today. I can't wait. The moment the world fashion is over, we are all going to Hawaii." Alexa said excitedly.
"Are you for real? Hawaii?" Cassidy looked interested and Alexa smirked.
"I know you want it. Let's all go. You, me, Doreen, and the kids. My mom is bluntly refusing to go on any journey that requires her leaving the state." Alexa shook her head.
"What about Liam?" Cassidy asked, raising her brow. Alexa shrugged, throwing a popcorn in her mouth, "Dunno. If he wants to come along." She said.
"Alexa. You love Liam and you know it. He loves you too." Cassidy placed a pillow in her laps, sitting up.
"I know." Alexa replied.
"If not those threatening letters, you guys would have been like glue." Cassidy said again and Alexa nodded interestingly, staring at her with one eye raised up.
"So if you want him to do something, go for it. If you want him to go, you tell him to leave whatever he is doing and go with you. He owes you that much."
"Do you think handling Glamour Holdings is that easy? I mean, they are practically the money house in the country." Alexa tilted her head.
"Look, handling anything is hard. So he can help you no matter what. You know men, it's just a matter of the mind. But women, use your head and your actions." Cassidy touched her head.
"So are you using yours right now?" Alexa asked seriously and Cassidy's furrowed her brows.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I get that friendship isn't easy. It has a lot of ups and downs. It's not always rosy. Nothing is." Alexa said.
"But you can't risk your happiness for my friendship. I'll be selfish to let that happen." Alexa shook her head.
"What are you talking about?" Cassidy asked.
"I'm going to talk to him. You know who I mean." Alexa said.
"No. You are not talking to Sam. What he did was unforgivable. He destroyed your marriage."
"And my happiness." Alexa pointed out, "So I won't let you experience the same thing, happiness is life." She said.
"No. I can't date someone I know you won't be comfortable with." Cassidy shook her head , getting up.
"And who on earth said I won't be comfortable with him?" Alexa asked, "if he thinks that, he better think again, Cassidy. As long as he makes you happy, that's the point. I can see what he did just to make his sister who he loves happy. If he truly loves you, then he'll do more and more than that. It's simple logic. Whoever would treat you that good is the best for you." Alexa said. A tear escaped from Cassidy's eyes as she turned back to her best friend.
"This is what you always do. Trying to help me all the time even if it is to your own expense." She said admist tears.
"And this is what you always do." Alexa got up, "You keep things from me and that hurts." She pulled Cassidy into a tight hug and let the girl cry hardly on her shoulder.
"Sam isn't Stella, Cassy. He is Stella's...brother. so you can hate him because of his family." She muttered.
"I've heard you." Cassidy whispered her response and Alexa smiled, patting her back.
"Now girl. I came to binge watch, cos tomorrow, the real work starts." Alexa said and pulled Cassidy to the couch while they started watching movies.
"So that is all of it. I hope you like it?" Alexa concluded her speech and the number of people available gave her a round of applause.
"I think it's perfectly beautiful." Mr Otan, the minister for fashion and beauty said and Alexa smiled.
"Thank you so much, sir." She glanced at Liam, "Mr Jordans, don't you have anything to say?" She asked.
Liam stared at her for a while, chuckling secretly as he relaxed back on his chair, his eyes pinned on her.
"Its beautiful. We couldn't expect less from you, Ms Chapman. I hope to work more with you in the future." He said, his eyes still trained on her.
Alexa bit her lips, cunningly, "You don't think there's anything we need to add?"
"It is perfect the way it is." He wasn't talking about her designs, he was talking about her, "There's no one who wouldn't love it."
"Hmmm." Otan cleared his throat skillfully and the secret banter stopped as the two turned their attention back to him and other members of the design faculty.
"We would like to see the designs physically. When could it be ready? We also have to have the models put them on. Also, the trainings for the models, Mr Jordan, I hope you are on it."
"I had to leave the rest of companies under Glamour just to watch Gazette personally. It's going on fine." He said.
"That's good." Mr Otan replied and looked at Alexa.
"Oh..."
"Why don't I and Alexa talk about that personally? You would see the final result about two weeks to the show." Liam interrupted her.
"Are you okay with that?" Otan asked and Alexa nodded her head.
"I am."
