Chapter 85 85
They pulled away from each other when it became hard to breathe easily. Their chests heaved up and down in sequence, their lips red and swollen. Liam placed his forehead on hers, his thumb rubbing the side of her face slowly while he stared at her.
"I love you, Alexa." He muttered.
She gulped, nodding her head. He understood. No matter how long it took for her to repeat those words back to him. He would wait.
Few minutes later, Liam pushed the wheelchair across the garden while she plucked flowers she loved.
"They form a beautiful chemistry together, don't you think?" She asked, smiling beautifully. Liam removed one from her fingers and placed it one her hair.
"Yeah." He replied, staring at her face, "They form a perfect chemistry with you." He smiled.
"What was that?" She glared at him, "I'm not 22 anymore." She scoffed.
Liam gulped as he looked at her, "But we'll be the same right, even if the ages change, we don't have to change." He muttered.
"Humans all changes. The ages literally just have little to do with it." She said and he clicked his tongue.
"I won't change. Or rather, my love for you will never change, Alexa. I promise that."
Alexandra blinked, a shade of red rushing to her cheeks. This was unusual. He had never been this open minded with his thinking and his sorts of words. He was the type of person whose actions spoke louder than his words.
"I realized too late that communication is a key part in a relationship. So I'm going to be brutally honest from now on. Expect that." He said, knowing what she was thinking. She bit her lips slowly.
"Who said we were in a relationship?" She asked.
"Did you forget? Our divorce papers are null and void." He said and she scoffed lightly.
"That doesn't work for me. Whatever is signed is signed." She said.
"You are hurting my feelings by saying that." He confessed.
"I want another wedding. Not just a court wedding with just our family there. I want a happy wedding where lots of well wishers would attend. Call me extravagant but it's what I want." She said.
Liam stopped the wheel chair at once and walked to her front, "Are you saying you'd like to remarry me?" He asked, his eyes portraying his seriousness.
"I'm just saying what I want my dream wedding to look like. It could not necessarily be you. I have tons of options, you see." She shrugged.
His brows narrowed, his eyes squinting, "Don't mess with me, Alexandra. You won't try to choose someone else." He said.
"My choice." She said adamantly and rolled from his direction, pushing her chair herself.
"Ale....come on, are you mad?" He asked and immediately rushed after her, getting hold of the wheelchair again.
"What the hell is this?" Someone watching them from the garden chair muttered, with a boring expression on her face.
"They wouldn't let us breathe in peace. Ever since she woke up. It's been love after love. I'm pretty sure he would feed her soon enough."
"Who else will?" The first person replied.
"Doreen, she can eat herself." The other replied.
"She can't." Doreen shook her head, "She is sick. It's his job as her man to do everything for her. The only thing I'm against is this giggling of love and running around in the garden. It's childish and ticklish." She hissed, turning to face her front. They had actually bent over the chair just to watch Liam and Alexa.
"You can't obviously relate. You haven't been in a relationship before." Eugene smirked and she immediately turned to look at him.
"Are you messing with me? I've been in so many relationships that I can't even count!" She snapped. He was shocked, turning to look at her with his mouth agape.
"Are you for real?" He asked.
"Hmph. All the guys in my highschool had a crush on me. I was the diva of the school. You can't compare." She blew her hair into his face, making him cough and quickly push it away.
"I get. But do you want me to eat hair?" He muttered and got up immediately.
"You are so annoying to be with." He said and walked away.
"Whatever." Doreen shrugged, turning to watch Liam and Alexa again. She sighed, clicking her tongue as she muttered some words.
"One day."
She felt a pull on her hand and she looked up, to see Eugene pulling her along.
"Let's go, or they'll find out you've been watching them." He said and she laughed.
"Nut job." She muttered.
TWO WEEKS LATER.
Flashlights bombarded her from every single place as she skillfully and majestically catwalk up the podium.
"I'm glad to be here. Few weeks ago, when the trucks flash lights on my eyes, I thought it'd be the last thing, but here I am. I was wondering who I would leave my kids for. How they would cope without me but I'm grateful because I'm seeing another day. And because I am hale and hearty." She said, her eyes glassy and a small smile on her face.
"It is with this joy that I am here today to take my place back from the theif who had tried to steal it. I'm resuming my duty back from next month as the CEO and owner of Velvet Vixen. Also, we are putting together in earnest beautiful materials for the world fashion run way which experienced and new models all over New York would be participating under Gazette's influence." She glanced at Liam who was at the back of the press media. A smile appeared on her face and the reporters immediately turned, capturing Liam quickly. The news were going to be wildfire and readers and watchers would have a field day on this.
"I want to relay my thanks to the CEO of Glamour Holdings, Liam Jordans, for without him, I guess Velvet Vixen would not be rescued now. Thank you." She said and walked down, series of applauds following her.
"Would you like to check the samples out before going?" Doreen asked immediately they got out but Liam was waiting at the end of the hallway, his back on the wall as he pressed his phone.
Alexa brought out her phone and captured a nice picture of him. Hearing the sound of the click, he turned and his lips widened into a smile.
Doreen was beginning to hate him. He looked weak in the brains when Alexa was involved. Was that how love works? And what more, he was still cold to every other person but perfect for Alexa. She should find her own cuddle bunny soon.
"Ma?" She called sharply, calling Alexa's attention back from her lover.
"Why don't you check the dresses out?" She said, gritting her teeth.
"I have a date with Liam right now. So.... where's Grace? She can do it, right?" Alexa collected her bag from Doreen, "Goodbye."
"Boss. You are slacking off!!!" Doreen's voice followed after her, then she released a sigh, resting on the wall as they dissappeared.
"Is this loveee......." She shook her head slowly as she walked away.
