Chapter 40 Forty
Her hands wrapped around his neck as she pressed closer to him. In that instant, the door opened and Liam pushed her away.
"What the hell is -" He stopped, his heart beat racing fast as he stepped away from her, turning towards the door.
Alexandra stood there, looking at him. Her eyes? He couldn't explain the emotions that filled them as she stared at him and then at Stella.
"I heard Liam was coming to your place to talk to you about the issues." She said as she stepped towards them.
"Yeah. He was pleading for me to help you. Pathetic." Stella curled her hair in her eyes, staring at Alexa with a cunning smile.
"You don't have to do that for me, Stella. If you think I pirated your designs. Feel free to spread the word and also please showcase all of your designs on the screen." Alexa said.
"So you mean, you are ready to take the blame for stealing?" Stella raised a brow and Alexa shrugged.
"If there is any blame to take,then yes." She replied.
"You are going to lose awards and you know what that can do to Velvet Vixen. It's your life." Stella smirked and Alexa smiled, stepping intimidatingly closer to her. Stella stared at her.
"Yeah. I can also know what revealing your deeds could do to SH Apparels. Be careful, I might use the fact that you sank my ship to destroy you." Alexa chuckled lightly as she turned, giving Liam one final look before she walked out.
"Don't ever." Liam gave a short warning as he rushed after Alexa, closing the door with a loud bang that made Stella shudder.
"Alexa! Alexandra, please just wait." Liam grabbed her hand but she pulled it away with force as she raised her second hand and gave him a dirty slap on the cheek.
He blinked and gulped, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let her do that."
"Do what?" Alexa squinted her eyes.
"Kiss me. I'm sorry about that."
"You think I'm bothered about the fact that you both kissed? Are you...." She chuckled, "Are you crazy?" She said seriously as she stared at him.
"What happens in Velvet Vixen remains a secret between I and my workers. I don't need you trying to be the hero in my life. You have never been and you won't start now. I can fix my problems myself. Don't portray me as weak, Mr Jordans, I don't...need your help." She said and turned, her eyes catching sight of Ryder as he stared at the end of the hallway, staring at them with his hands in his pocket.
"Can you...can you stop meeting him after this?" Liam stuttered.
"You can't tell me what to do." She said without looking back as she took a step and walked towards Ryder.
"It has started." Ryder smiled at her and she nodded as he helped her in.
Liam sighed, fixing his hands into his hair as his teeth chattered. His jaw tightened, as he closed his already glassy eyes. He won't stop.
"Where's mom?" Jade asked as they took a seat at the dark place of the hall.
"Mom isn't coming out now. She's only coming out after the dresses have been showcased." Cassidy said.
"What about dad?" Jade asked bright eyed.
"Jade, be quiet. The models are coming out." Jace shut her up and she frowned as she folded her hands, paying attention to the dresses.
"Unfortunately, SH Apparels doesn't have models for now." The Mc said and murmurs suddenly rose in the room.
"Did Liam seriously break contracts with them?" Cassidy muttered absentmindedly and Jade glanced at her.
"Dad?" She asked.
"No dear. It's nothing."
"However, they will be gracing this occasion with their designs on the projectors." He announced and a bright light shone, before the clothes started to be projected.
"Wow."
"It's really beautiful."
"Oh my goodness."
"When will this be released?"
"Oh my God. I never knew SH Apparels were capable of stuffs like this." Cassidy muttered.
"Isn't this mom's design?" Jace suddenly spoke and Cassidy blinked.
"I saw it in one of those blue prints book. She had three of the designs showcased here. They are exactly the same." Jace said.
"Did -" Cassidy scoffed lightly as she folded her hands, "Did SH Apparels steal Velvet Vixen's designs again?" She bit her lips tightly as she tried to control her anger.
"I need to call your mom." Cassidy said as she picked her phone and got up.
"Don't go anywhere. I'll be back." She said and walked out.
"Aunt Cassy. It's mom's turn...." Jade's voice trailed off when she noticed Cassidy had already gone far.
The Velvet Vixen shows started and the models walked out with their fashionable dresses.
"There are almost similar in designs but something is unique." One of the guests said.
"Velvet Vixen's designs are always the best. SH Apparels could never compare." Another said.
"I can't tell, there is something that makes this better."
"It's heavenly perfect."
"This is just the best."
"Oh my God. I can't seem to hide my feelings. I feel like we already got the winners of the fashion attires today and the models are killing it. I cannot lie, the best fashion of the Year goes to Velvet Vixen and Helix and Co." The MC announced and everyone gave an applause.
"Where's Aunt Cassy?" Jace asked, a worried look on his face.
"Look it's mom. Let's go." Jade said excitedly as she pulled Jace's hand and they rushed towards the podium where Alexa was receiving her reward.
"Mom." Jace called as they walked towards her and she smiled at them, motioning for them to come closer.
At that moment, Liam came out from the other side unintentionally.
"Dad!" Jade's voice resounded round the place and everyone turned.
"Alexandra and Liam?" Someone suddenly muttered in the crowd.
