Chapter 34 Thirty four
She explained things to them and Jade nodded her head as she walked down the stairs to the living room. They turned on the lights and they all sat on the sofa.
"I think I've found another path, mom. I want to become a private investigator." Jade said and Alexa nodded, now she knew Jade wasn't serious.
The young girl got down from the chair, her hands folded behind her back as she walked to and fro, before turning to look at Jace.
"What I you think, Jace? I feel like this sounds and smells fishy." She said.
"Don't tell me it's because the materials fell into the sea? So you think it smells fishy." Jace said and Jade looked at him, clicking her tongue as she shook her head.
"How did you become the smartest in you class?" She asked.
"I was just kidding okay." Jace shot and she shrugged indifferently, "Mom, I don't think there's anything weird in this. Businesses have risks and all that, let's just say this is one of the risks we didn't see coming. But you have to get other materials as quick as possible for the fashion week. You can't lose CEO of the year. My classmates are talking about it and I told them my mom would win." Jace said.
"Mom would win, that's for sure. And Jace is right,.you have to get other materials."
"I know that already." Alexa replied, "Doreen is working on getting some suppliers."
"That's good then but first," Jade picked up a pen and a book, "Is there anyone you suspect who might have done this? Anybody who is trying to get back at you?" She asked and Alexa was about shaking her head when she remembered Stella.
"Stella?" She called and the kids looked at each other, before Jade wrote the name down.
"Who's Stella, mom?" She asked.
"Heir to SH Apparels. I recently made a show-"
"Ohh, she's the lady aunt Cassidy talked about. She would be our main suspect then." Jace interrupted.
"You guys think so?" Alexa asked seriously and the kids nodded together.
"I remember you working so hard to get a good supplying agency. They don't have a record of not getting the goods to the customer, so why now? Besides, your goods never sank before. Why now?" Jade asked.
"And it was just few days after you made that show and exposed the fact that her company have been stealing your designs? Besides, it was there she found out about your collaboration with Helix and Co. Fashion house. It's really suspicious." Jace added.
"I never thought of that." Alexa said as she stared at the kids.
"You see, this is why you need us." Jade raised up her hands and Jace hit his with hers, before they both stretched their hands for the payment.
"How much?" Alexandra asked.
"A thousand dollars each."
"What do you need-"
"Private investigations are really cost, mum. Don't you watch movies?" Jade frowned and Alexa gasped. Her children were ripping her off.
"Alright." She said and placed a thousand dollars on both of their hands. Jade counted hers and helped Jace count his before he could even talk.
"I didn't need your help." Jace argued.
"Ten dollars for helping you count." Jade stretched her hands and Jace gasped.
"But I didn't-"
She took the ten dollars and stretched her hand again,
"My allowance for being your sister." She said and Jace scoffed as he looked at her.
"Use that ten dollar note you took." He said and rushed up the stairs.
"You are cheating." Jade screamed as she looked at him and he brought out his tongue, running up fully.
"Mum, you should ask the supplier if they found the ship. Let them check if there was anything wrong with it. If it suddenly malfunctioned, them that simply means someone tampered with your goods." She said and gave a fake bow that made Alexa chuckled.
"Good night, Ms Chapman!" Jade screamed and rushed upstairs, leaving only Alexandra in the room.
Alexandra sighed as she concluded that she'll call Mr Johnny early the next day. She went to her room to finally have a nice sleep.

The car engine stopped and Stella stood up from the balcony where she had been sitting patiently, waiting for Liam.
"Liam," She called slowly as he got down from the car and he stared at her, his hands in his pocket.
"Stella, what are you doing here? I thought I made it clear-"
She rushed to him, hugging him tightly as she let her head rest on his chest. Liam pursed, his jaw set as he left his hand in his pocket, not bothering to hug her back.
She pulled away and was about to kiss him when he removed his hands, pulling her away from himself.
"What the hell do you think you are doing, Stella?"
"Liam,you just-"
"Get out from my house please. I don't want to see your foot on my property anymore."
"Are you mad at me because of the lies Alexandra filled you with? Those kids are not yours, I'm pretty sure about it." Stella said and Liam scoffed lightly, staring at her.
"Stella, just shut the fvck up. Those kids are mine, I won't let anyone disrespect either them or their mother in front of me. Alexa is not what you paint her to be."
"What about me? I'm not what she painted me to be." Stella said desperately.
"Alexandra never said anything about you or even if she did, she didn't lie. It was obvious you stole her designs and I find that at, totally despicable. But Stella, that wasn't the reason why I broke up with you. Infact, it's not your fault, okay. It's mine. I just....I want to settle with my family. It doesn't matter how many times I beg her or how many times she rejects me, I'll keep on going back to her. So please, Stella, this is my last act of what was between us. Let's end this."
