Chapter 31 Thirty one
"Jade, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" He asked, cleaning her tears.
"Mom is angry at us." Jade cried more and Liam sighed, staring at Alexandra. She rolled her eyes as she cleaned Jade's face and took her from Liam, putting her into the car.
"Jace, take care of your sister. I'll soon be back." She said and Jace nodded, going in, before she closed the door.
"We have to talk." She said and walked away, while Liam stared at the kids through the window, before following her.
"Is there an issue? You look really pissed off? What's wrong?"
"I don't appreciate your concern towards me. If you don't know, it's annoying." Alexa shot.
"I was just concerned about -"
"Exactly what I said. I don't... appreciate it." She said and he took a deep breath, biting his lips.
"Alexandra, I know that you hate me but you have to trust me when I say that I'm really sorry for everything. I don't...I'm sorry. Please, forgive me. Do I have to kneel down to beg you?"
"Even if you do kneel down, I won't still forgive you. For the sake of the kids, I'm letting you in their lives but that doesn't mean you can interfere. You might be their father but you are no longer my husband and the full rights of the kids remain mine."
"Why can't I have a say in the kids life?"
"Where were you five years ago when they were born? Do you really think you can appear out of nowhere and then start making unfavorable decisions? These are my kids, until they get to the legal age, I have full control over their lives."
"The kids want us back together. Do you see how Jade lights up when she sees me?"
"Your pride." She scoffed, muttering underneath her breath.
"For their sake, can't we just be together again? Please, let's give them the loving family they deserve." Liam said and she scoffed lightly as she licked her lips.
"Those words sound really enticing but NO! I'm not a fool to trust you anymore, Liam. I saw your fiancee today, she came to my office to tell me shit I didn't want you hear. About how unfaithful you are and how you'll always run back to her. It's pretty obvious and not a new thing, I mean, you have done it before." She paused as she sighed,
"Don't try to beg me, Liam. I'm not going to forgive you anytime soon. I'm planning my revenge and you'll regret the fact that I reappeared in your life cos I'm going to turn it upside down. I believe I've already started from Stella. Try to fix your relationship if you can." She bumped into him and walked towards her car.
She drove out before Liam could get to his and follow after her.
A sigh left her lips and she looked in the mirror, Jade was looking outside the window without even glancing at her.
"Jade." She called but there was no reply.
"Jade, are you okay?" She looked back a bit and her body was looking really pale.
"Jace, touch your sister." She said, looking back on the road.
"Mum, Jade's hot." Jace said as he touched her forehead. She was burning up and also sweating badly. Alexa pulled the car to a stop as she turned around and checked Jade's body.
"We have to go to the hospital." She said and at that moment, Liam's car pulled up beside hers. He came down from the car and rushed towards hers, knocking on the window. Jace winded down.
"Is anything the problem?" He asked.
"Jade is burning up. We have to get to the hospital."
"I'll drive. Open up." He said.
"No, I'll-"
"Please, Alexandra. She's my child too." He cut her off and she sighed, opening the door and she moved into the back seat. She took Jade in her arms while the little girl snuggled and Liam rushed towards the hospital.
"Bring her." Liam took her from Alexandra's arms and rushed her into a ward where the doctor came to check on her.
"Fortunately, she's just having a slight fever. She'll be alright very soon. She needs enough rest." He said.
"Thank you." Liam said.
"Is it possible to take her home right now?" Alexandra asked.
"She's still sleeping but you can take her the moment she wakes up." The doctor explained.
"Mon, I want to see my sister." Jace pulled her dress and she opened the door for him.
"You can go in, Jace. But be quiet, Jade is sleeping. We don't want her to wake up yet." She said and he nodded, tiptoeing into the room. He got on the chair beside the bed and sighed, staring at her.
"Get well soon, Jade." He muttered.
Alexandra released a deep breath as she sat down on the chair in the hallway and stretched her hand. Liam held it and she furrowed her brows.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Comforting you. Jade would be fine, you don't need to be agitated." He said calmly and she pulled her hand away.
"I know she'll be fine. What I wanted was my car keys." She said and Liam gasped,
"Ooh. I'm sorry." He said as he gave her the key.
"How will you get to your car?" She asked.
"I can ride with you, you'll drop- I'll take a cab." He changed his words when he saw Alexandra glaring at him.
"Thank you for the ride." She muttered.
"We are really strangers now, aren't we? You are thanking me for bringing my child to the hospital. Not fair." He muttered and she rolled her eyes.
"What you did that day was nice." He suddenly said.
"What?"
"I noticed SH Apparels stole your designs. It was Stella's fault and not Mr Hills though, he didn't know until I informed him." Liam said.
"I don't like the ways you talk about Stella. Id you are not coming back to me, at least, take care of the next person." She said.
"I don't love Stella anymore."
"Since when?" She asked as she looked at him and suddenly her phone rang.
"Doreen?"
"Ma'am, there's a problem. I just heard that the container for the materials sank into the sea, hence the delay."
Alexandra blinked in shock as her mouth fell open, "W-what?"
