Epilogue 4 - 10 Years Later

*10 Years Later*

"You're doing great," I encourage her. "Now try to hold it there. Take deep breaths, and focus on your sensations inside."

The massive body of water between us trembles. The shape is changing in irregular shapes, little drops falling on the floor, but nothing alarming. She's doing amazing, considering the size, and slowly moving it across the area. I see her frowning a lot, her fists clenched, almost glaring at that huge bubble she's holding together. It keeps moving, floating in the air until it is almost above the half-empty pool.

"Alright, now slowly release the pressure, slowly. Just let go as if you were opening your hand..."

I hear her breathe out, and I try to feel her magic. Her pressure is strong, but she's too scared to let go. She gently releases the pressure, but she's still holding on, and the water falls too faintly, a few drops at a time.

"It's okay," I encourage her. "Trust yourself, you're doing great. Just a bit more..."

She listens, and soon, the water starts falling back into the pool, several liters dropped one by one, making splatters but still going where we want them. I see her smile on the other side, witnessing her success. I say nothing and just let her go on. She suddenly gets a bit too confident, and as soon as she looks up to glance at me, all the water suddenly falls, splashing both of us in the process. She gaps, and runs over.

"I'm so sorry!" She exclaims. "I lost focus, I didn't think it would fall like that..."

"It's okay," I chuckle, wiping my face. "You still did pretty great! Don't worry, it's just water, and it will dry in no time. But you did amazing! See? You just need to focus on your power, and trust yourself with it. Really, you're doing great for your age."

"Thank you, Mara... I wouldn't have done it without all your help, and your advice... I feel so much better than before now, I'm really so glad... C-can I hug you?"

"Oh, sure."

She hugs me right at the end of my answer, tightly. I smile, and hug her back. She's a sweet kid, just a bit lost... and a great future witch, I can tell. After a while, we part, and I wipe her tears of her cheeks.

"Thank you so much..." She cries.

"It's alright, stop crying!" I chuckle. "That's enough water for the day. But promise me, the next time you get angry, just dive into the pool, alright? No need to try and drown everyone around with a water bomb."

"I promise," she replies, half laughing and half crying.

"And you keep training, okay? With time, this will be nothing. You'll be able to help a lot of people around you, with your power. So don't waste your time with teenagers like that being mean to you. Just move on, and grow stronger from it. Even witches can't change people's opinions, but we can act like we want regardless. Be a strong witch, and be yourself. Don't be scared to be different, okay? One of my best friends said Weirdos are cool."

"You're the coolest," she smiles.

"Thanks," I chuckle.

She takes a deep breath in, definitely wiping her tears.

"Do you have to leave?" She asks with a sorry expression.

"Yes, I got my family waiting for me... but don't hesitate to call me if you need, okay? Humans don't have magic, but technology is still useful. and you can chat with other witches like I told you, too. You'll see, everyone has issues, but we're stronger together."

"Thanks, Mara. Thank you for everything. I promise I'll get better at all that."

"Train," I nod. "But keep studying! Make memories at school, and become someone great. We need more cool witches."

I take a few steps back, and wave at her, my magic circle appearing beneath me. She keeps waving from afar, crying again a bit, but soon, she's gone.

I let out a long sigh and close my eyes, letting my circle bring me home. What time is it in Silver City? It's probably pretty early... I can help but smile, a bit excited to go home. It's always the same, no matter how long I leave, a few hours or a few days. As soon as I'm gone, I'm looking forward to when I'll be back.

I arrive in our living room, as usual. The furniture is actually set so I have space to arrive, just in case I'd land a bit further than planned or something. Although, I've used this spell so many times I can do it without thinking now. I take a deep breath, and stretch. The sun is up already, but the house is so quiet. It's a saturday after all... With everyone sleeping, I feel a bit lucky to be awake already. I make a quick stop by the bathroom, to dry my hair and put away my wet clothes before I soak the whole house... I glance up at my figure in the mirror. No dark circles this time, but my hair is going to be a nightmare later... oh, well. I push a few white strands out of my face. I'm really getting used to it, now. It looks like a real witch thing...

I grab a pair of sweatpants and a shirt from my dressing room right next to it. I'm tempted to cross it and get into our bedroom, but I want to go somewhere else first.

I smile, and go back into the corridor to sneak into the first bedroom on the left.

The little crib is hidden in the dark, just a few phosphorescent stars shining above it, and the thin light filtering through the curtains. I quietly walk up to the little bed, and lean over. Moon Goddess, he is so cute... Sleeping with his body spread like a star, his little mouth open, Milo is deep asleep. His little hand is still holding Spark's tail, just like when I left him. I chuckle quietly, exchanging a glance with my cat, curled up in the corner with his golden eyes glowing.

"Thanks for watching him," I mutter with my lips.

Spark lets out a cute little meow, and puts his head down on my baby's belly. I smile, and go back to watching Milo sleep. I love his frizzy black hair, and his golden skin... and those cheeks! I could squeeze them all day long if he didn't hate it. Plus, he inherited his dad's eyes behind those closed eyelids. All his aunties and I are certain: he will be unbearably handsome when he grows up. However, for now, he's still an adorable toddler, with a very heavy sleep, and a dangerous appetite of a little wolf when he's up... He's got his little pajama 'Watch out: Baby Wolf' that Selena gifted him last christmas. I pull up his blanket back to cover him, and put a little kiss on his cheek, provoking a little pout on his face. It's cute, and not enough to wake my little Milo up. I exchange a wink with Spark, and quietly walk out of the bedroom, closing the door without making a sound.

I get back into the corridor, but don't dare enter the other bedroom. Unlike her little brother, she'd wake up right away for sure... So I quietly sneak into our master bedroom, opening it once again as quietly as possible.

Oh, Moon Goddess, what a sigh...

He forgot to close the blinds again last night, which he always does when I'm not here. I guess he hasn't gotten used to it yet, it's only been two months since we moved here... I won't complain, though. In fact, I have the chance to witness my adorable husband, half-naked, sleeping across the bed like his son, disheveled with the lines of his abs hit by the sunlight... I bite my lower lip, a bit too excited. Oh, I could devour him right now. Instead, I chuckle and slowly climb on the end of the bed, trying not to wake him up.

He's snoring faintly, and it adds to his charm. He's wearing the patterned pajama pants... Still no top of course. I have a matching set, which I only wear on week-ends, when we have to watch out for those little ones barging in the bedroom. The rest of the week, it's sexy black lingerie only. For now though, I'm not wearing either of these, but it doesn't stop me from climbing over my husband. Although he doesn't open his eyes, I can tell exactly when he wakes up, as I feel his inner wolf excited by my presence. I put a kiss on his lips, and he immediately pouts his to ask another. I chuckle, and happily indulge.

"Good Morning, my wolf."

"Good morning, my witchy wife... How did it go?"

"The usual. Troubled witch teenager almost drowning her classmates... How about you?"

"The usual.... Our daughter tried to charm her godfather, our son tried to bite everything... including his dad and his mom's cat."

"Oh, poor Sparky... So you spent the evening with Ben?"

"He brought the twins, too. Kelsi kicked him out, she's still working on her essay thing... I don't know which one between him or me missed his wife the most. Although the pizza party was fun."

"You had a pizza party with my babies without me again?" I chuckle. "They must love when mommy isn't here..."

"They still miss you, though. Milo cried for a bit... and Cynthia asked when you'd be back like, three times."

"I'm sorry, Babe. I thought it would go faster."

"It's okay."

He wraps his arms around me, and I chuckle, hugging him back. Oh, I missed him... he smells just like my Liam.

"I missed you too," I sigh.

"Me too. ...Aren't you tired?"

"A bit. But it's alright, I'll nap later. Are we still going at Nora's this afternoon?"

"Yep. Still, you should rest. You're always running left and right these days..."

He pulls the blanket over me, and I happily snuggle against him. It's true I am tired, but with the sun already up, I don't feel like sleeping now... and I want to enjoy my time with them.

"I'm worried," he sighs. "You're always leaving left and right on top of your work here. You're going to over-exhaust yourself again."

"Don't worry. I promise I'll stop and let some of the other older witches if I'm really tired. The older ones are starting to get real good now, a handful can even use the teleportation spell... I just went this time because I've been following that girl for a while, she's really got no one to help. Next time, I'm sitting out and staying with my babies, I promise."

"Mh. Good, then. ...but what about your husband? I have been feeling super lonely too. Very, very lonely, you know. I'm super pitiful."

I laugh, and give him a bunch of kisses on his cheeks to apologize. Oh, my Liam... I hope he never stops being playful and childish like this. It really helps me stay focused on what matters, and relaxed. He's like my inner strength. I just need to go home to him, and everything else can be blown away.

"...I'm sorry," I sigh after a while.

"What? Why?"

"I feel like I'm a bit... you know, always leaving you with the kids. You have your job at the police station, the werewolf stuff, the house and stuff, while I'm... super focused on witch stuff. I just feel a bit bad..."

After a while, he suddenly starts laughing. Why is he laughing? It's not funny! I'm really trying to be sincere here... I slap his shoulder, a bit annoyed.

"Stop laughing!"

"Sorry... Damn, I love you witch!"

Before I can even react, he suddenly overpowers me and makes us roll on the bed, him getting on top of me.

"You're not funny..." I grumble a bit, annoyed that he's not taking my apology seriously.

"You're the funny one," he chuckles. "My wife is sorry about being a super badass and busy witch while I get to stay home and play with our babies? Excuse me?"

I sigh, but he shakes his head, and puts a quick kiss on my lips.

"Mara, I'm super proud of you. You're doing a ton of stuff at the same time, and unlike what you're thinking, you're here for our family, okay? That's why our kids notice if their mom is gone even for one night. Sure, it was a bit hard at times, but we always decided and did things together. And we have a big family exactly for that, so we can rely on our pack when you and I are both busy. Don't apologize for being a kick-ass mom who's helping tons of little witches without a mom out there. Cynthia understands, and she is super proud of her mom too. And Milo... Well, he'll just keep biting his dad and pulling Spark's tail for now, I guess."

This time, I chuckle, and surrender, putting my arms around his neck. It sure was hard sometimes... Although I did take real breaks when our babies were born, or when the family needed us. Silver City is still my home, after all, wherever I go, I'll come back to this place. Moreover, it's not like we didn't get to enjoy ourselves... Liam and I traveled a lot together before we finally decided to move out and have a family on our own. Even Kelsi got a taste of motherhood before I did with her twins... Although her pregnancy wasn't really planned, as it happened when she was still studying. It wasn't so easy for me either. Liam and I had a full two years of focusing on our careers and other things before I finally got pregnant. Now we have our two babies, our new apartment, the cat and even our daughter's magical turtle...

Suddenly, we both turn heads as we hear running from the corridor. There she goes...

"Dad! Dad I lost Gem again!"

Cynthia barges in, still in her pajamas, her hair in an utter mess and looking panicked. She frowns when she sees the two of us, hugging with Liam on top of me on one edge of the bed.

"Miss Cynthia, what did we say about running into a room without knocking?" Growls her dad.

"Mama!"

I smile and push him away to open my arms as my daughter dives into the bed, and into my embrace.

"Hi, my Baby girl!"

We laugh and hug for a while, Liam completely left on the side. I hug my daughter and sit up, facing her. I try to brush her hair a bit while she excitedly starts talking.

"Mama, when did you come back? We had pizza last night! Uncle Benny came and the twins too! And we had fun playing tag with Spark! Oh, and Milo bit dad again, and then he cried a lot, too... Oh, and I put nail polish on Gemma!"

I frown.

"Baby, I'm not sure about putting nail polish on your turtle... Also, where did my seven years old daughter get nail polish?" I ask, turning to Liam who shrugs.

"Have you already tried keeping three girls out of their mom's nail polish drawer? Because Ben and I tried everything, I swear..."

I sigh, and turn to Cynthia, only now noticing that pink nailpolish on her fingers. Oh, I would never wear that one anyway... I chuckle and show her my dark blue nails.

"Alright, how about you and mommy go and buy some appropriate nail polish for your age, and we try to keep it off poor Gem, okay? I know your turtle is very fashionable, but this and trying to take baths with Spark is probably not a good idea, Cynthia. Alright?"

"Okay... But then can we also get makeup?"

"I'm sure there's going to be makeup for little girls," I nod. "Actually, how about you ask your cousins this afternoon? I'm sure Aurora and Lily have some they can lend you."

"Oh, yes!"

We keep chatting for a while, Cynthia being a real wordmill... Meanwhile, Liam comes to hug me from behind, leaning his head on my shoulder without a word, probably snoozing before the real trouble starts...

"Oh," suddenly says Cynthia.

Indeed, we can hear her little brother's tantrum from the other side of the apartment. She jumps out of the bed and runs to Milo's bedroom even before us. Liam sighs, and puts a quick kiss on my shoulder.

"I'm glad we waited before we got Milo," he sighs. "A five years gap should be a minimum, for any parent's mental health..."

I laugh.

"Says the husband who couldn't stop asking for another baby as soon as we got Cynthia?"

"Cynthia slept her full nights when she was two weeks old! I didn't think her brother would make me wake up at four every day for nine months... I was the only guy at the police station who would gladly take on the early morning shifts. They still remember."

I chuckle, and give him a quick kiss on the cheeks.

"Well, baby alarm clock still likes to wake up early... let's go see before Cynthia decides to put something on his nails too."

He nods, and we get up, hand in hand, to go and free poor Spark.

It's a morning like any other in Silver City... and I hope it goes on for a long time.
