Chapter 29 Darkness At The Toy Section

Chapter 29 Darkness At The Toy Section
The next morning, I open my eyes and feel someone holding me tightly. I look down and see little Ira clinging to me, her chubby hands gripping my shirt. Her soft, innocent breath brushes against my neck, and my heart melts.

Just then, my gaze falls ahead. Michael is standing right in front of me. His eyes are filled with anger. He is staring at Ira as if she has committed some serious crime.

In a harsh voice, he says, “Hey! Move away. She is my wife. Stay away from her.”

Ira doesn’t understand him at all. She simply shakes her chubby little head in no and holds onto me even tighter. I am left stunned. Only one question echoes in my mind what kind of husband gets jealous of a tiny child?

I sit up and softly say, “Mr. Wilson?”

He immediately responds, “Sara, stay quiet. Look at how this girl is clinging to you. Tell her that only I have the right to be close to you. Move her away.”

His words make anger rise inside me. I lift Ira into my arms and look straight into his eyes as I say, “You’re crossing a limit. You’re jealous of a little child?”

Without hesitation, he replies, “Yes. I feel jealous when anyone comes close to you.”

I take a deep breath, then say in a low but sharp voice, “Oh really? Then you should also be jealous of the baby growing inside me. That baby is the closest to me.”

Hearing this, his anger slowly fades. He stays silent for a few moments and then says, “Yes… that child has a right. He is my baby.”

I step closer to him, my voice turning even softer, “Then can’t Ira become our daughter?”

His face hardens instantly. He says firmly, “Absolutely not. I’ve already told you before. Please don’t argue on this topic.”

He grips my hand tightly and starts pulling me outside. As I step out, I look around at the world covered in snow. With a little hope, I ask, “Can I play in the snow for a while?”

Without even looking at me, he says, “No.”

I look at him in shock, “Why? You brought me here so I could enjoy.”

While helping me into the car, he replies, “Yes, but at that time I didn’t know you were pregnant.”

I glare at him angrily. He quietly sits on the other side, starts the engine, and drives off at a fast speed leaving me with questions in my heart and pain in my silence.

We are walking on the road, and right now we are on the street. I sit in the car seat and softly say, “Stop the car, I want to do some shopping at the mall.”

He looks slightly surprised and says, “Do it later.”

I add a little insistence to my voice and say, “No, I want to do it now. I can’t go repeatedly, I get tired.”

He tilts his head and stops the car outside the mall. I lift tiny Ira into my arms and step out. He follows happily, walking with me, sharing this little joy.

As soon as we enter the mall, all the workers greet us. One worker, who seems responsible, asks, “What do you need?”

I smile and say, “I want a cute dress for Ira and one for myself.”

He doesn’t say anything, just listens to me. I speak gently, with a teasing tone, “Weren’t you supposed to go to your meeting? You should go.”

He smiles faintly and says, “No, I won’t leave you alone.”

I get a little irritated and say, “What are you saying? Am I running away somewhere? I’ll just go straight back to the villa from here.”

He still insists, “No.”

I take a deep breath, staying patient, and say, “Please, go. Give me a little space. I’ll shop on my own.”

He says nothing. I breathe deeply and understand that he’s a little upset. I start walking slowly and calmly into the mall, holding Ira in my arms.

Then Ira, in his sweet, tiny voice, says, “Aunty… doll.”

I look at his little finger and realize he’s pointing at a doll. I smile and ask, “You want a doll?”

He nods, “Hnn.”

We walk toward the toy section, and I become surprised because, right in front of my eyes, Diana is standing there.

My heart starts beating a little faster. She stares at me quietly, and I realize there’s some new scheme in her eyes.

As soon as we enter the toy section of the mall, my eyes fall on Diana. She’s standing there, and in her eyes, I can clearly see that new scheme and her devilish, wicked smile. She slowly speaks toward me, “I knew… you would come HERE.”

A mix of anger and shock rises in my eyes. I say in a sharp, slightly scared voice, “Diana! Get out of my way! I don’t want to talk to you. You’re a liar!”

She lets out a sharp, devilish laugh. She claps suddenly, as if celebrating her own victory. Her laughter carries a strange mix of fear and arrogance, sending a cold shiver down my spine.

Then, a few men in black suits, wearing masks, silently appear. They join in her laughter, standing around me and little Ira. An odd sense of dread rises inside me. Ira holds tightly to my hand and clings to my lap, and I hold him even closer, as if I’m protecting him no matter what.

My throat feels tight. My heart beats faster, and my breath catches slightly. Maybe I’ve made a mistake by telling him to leave… maybe this situation is far more dangerous than I imagined.

Diana moves closer, her eyes cold and calculating, and suddenly presses a handkerchief firmly over my mouth. My head spins uncontrollably, dizziness overwhelming me. Panic grips my chest as I struggle to breathe, but everything fades. Darkness engulfs me, and within seconds, I lose consciousness, powerless and terrified, falling silently.
