Chapter 26 He Want To Make His Again

Chapter 26 He Want To Make His Again
I speak softly, “Nothing… it’s nothing.”

Before I can even finish, he suddenly comes toward me in one swift move, leaving me no time to react, and pulls me into his strong arms. There’s an intensity in his hold, as if he’s afraid of losing me, pulling me closer so I can’t slip away.

He gently lifts me and places me on the car’s bonnet. In the cold, crisp air, his eyes are fixed only on me. Looking straight at me, he asks, “Why don’t you seem as happy as before?”

I look away, my gaze dropping. Inside, a storm of emotions is raging, but I manage to answer softly, “Nothing… just a little tired.”

He immediately asks, “Tired? What kind of tired? Are you alright?”

I quickly reply, “Yes… I’m fine.”

Then, as if trying to stop him from worrying too much, I add, “Please don’t be so concerned… don’t overthink.”

He doesn’t say anything. Instead, he lifts his hand and gently strokes my cheek. The softness of his fingers reaches deep into my heart. Then, in a low but firm voice, he says, “I told you something… and you didn’t give me an answer.”

At that moment, everything comes flooding back the memory of his voice, his face, that moment… when he had said I love you to me.

My heartbeat suddenly races. I feel a flutter of panic. Breathing becomes slightly difficult. He looks into my eyes intensely, as if he wants to read every hidden truth inside me.

Then he speaks again, without averting his gaze, “I love you… very much.”

He pauses for a moment, then asks, “Do you love me?”

I can’t think straight. My heart and mind are speaking two different languages. I am unable to form words. All I do is lean forward slightly, pressing my forehead against his.

In that closeness, I feel the warmth of his breath. His scent envelops me, soothing and dizzying at the same time. The cold winter air, the silence of the snowy surroundings, and him being so near all of it overwhelms me. I remain still… yet my heart is screaming.

I am mentally very disturbed. There is a strange confusion inside me that doesn’t let me sit peacefully. Taking a deep breath, I hold Michael’s face with both my hands. My fingers brush against his cheeks, and then, slowly, I place my lips on his.

For a moment, he looks stunned. Then gently, he starts rubbing my back. His touch pulls me even closer, and it feels as if he has missed me passionately. His breaths mix with mine, and for a few seconds, everything else fades away the world exists only around us.

After a while, we slowly pull apart. We are both breathing heavily, our hearts racing. Suddenly, I feel something against my leg. I look down and see Ira standing there, watching us with her innocent eyes.

I try to lift her, but Michael gets to her first. He picks her up and sits her on the car’s bonnet. There is a strange playfulness and innocence in her eyes. I look at him in surprise and ask, “Why don’t you like children?”

He remains silent for a few seconds, then replies softly, “It’s not like that… I like children, but not Ira.”

My heart skips a beat. I look at him in shock and ask, my voice filled with doubt and confusion, “Why don’t you like Ira?”

With a hint of hardness in his eyes, he says, “Because she is Diana’s daughter. You don’t know Diana… she is a very bad woman. I don’t want to get emotionally connected to Ira. Diana forces her to come in front of me so that I get attached to her and end up marrying Diana.”

I stare at him, stunned. My breathing grows faster. In a low voice, I say, “But… she said that she is between us…”

He looks at me, honesty and a bit of softness in his eyes, and says, “She lied. She is very cunning. You don’t know her.”

Tears fill my eyes. I hold him tightly, yet a question keeps spinning in my mind why did she say all that to me?

He answers quietly, “Because she wants you to go away from me, so she can get a chance to come close to me.”

My eyes grow wet. There is a heavy feeling in my heart. I realize how big a mistake I was about to make.

I melt into his arms. My body is still trembling slightly. Clinging to his chest, in a very soft voice almost breaking I ask, “So… do you like children?”

He gently runs his fingers through my hair. There is no hesitation in his voice when he answers, “Yes… I like them. Very much.”

Hearing his words, a strange kind of hope rises in my heart. Slowly, I rest my head on his shoulder and start looking at little Ira. She is playing with tiny pieces of ice, looking around happily, smiling to herself. Her innocent laughter touches my soul.

In a very soft voice, a little scared, I say, “Can… can we keep Ira with us?”

Before I can even finish, he suddenly pulls me slightly away from himself. A seriousness spreads across his face. “Absolutely not,” he says firmly. “She is not our daughter. Diana has the right over her.”

My heart feels like it stops for a moment. I immediately speak up, “You know she hits her, right? She doesn’t take care of her at all. I’ve never seen a mother’s love in her… not even once. She doesn’t love Ira.”

He takes a deep breath. “I know,” he says, “But still, she is Diana’s daughter. That’s why you don’t need to get attached to her.”

His words pierce me from the inside. I don’t say anything. I just fall silent. Slowly, I turn my face away from him. Then I lift little Ira into my arms and, without saying a word, walk downstairs toward the house.

He follows me and calls out, “Sara, listen...”

But I don’t stop. I walk straight inside the house.

The house feels warm and beautiful from within. The freezing cold outside seems to disappear the moment I enter. I go and sit near the fireplace. The warmth of the fire touches my face, but inside my heart, a strange cold settles.

He comes and sits beside me and softly asks, “Are you upset?”

I don’t reply. I remain silent.

Little Ira starts playing with the lamp switch kept nearby turning it on and off and laughs to herself. Her innocent actions help steady my heart a little.

Suddenly, Michael lifts me into his arms in one swift motion. I look at him in shock. “What is this...?” I try to say.

He cuts me off, his voice filled with stubbornness, “I don’t want to hear anything. Today… I want to make you mine again.”

Hearing his words, I am left completely stunned.
