Chapter 20 The Woman Who Rules Wilson Empire

Chapter 20 The Woman Who Rules Wilson Empire
I tell him softly, "No... nothing happened. I'm fine."

He doesn't move away. He keeps holding me, letting me stay in his arms. I slowly rest my head on his shoulder, seeking the comfort I don't know how to ask for. He remains still, protective, as if he's afraid that if he lets go, I might break.

After a while, he speaks in a calm, gentle voice, "We have to attend a party this evening. Will you come with me?"

I look at him in surprise. "A party?" I ask, disbelief clear in my eyes.

He nods his head, a quiet certainty in his expression.

I hesitate, then say softly, "But... with you? People will talk. They'll make stories."

He looks at me firmly, yet with warmth, and replies, "Don't worry about that. Leave it to me."

His words don't erase my fear completely, but they make me feel a little safer like, for this moment, I don't have to face the world alone.

Evening settles softly into the room. Warm, gentle light spreads across the space as I stand in front of the mirror, getting ready. I adjust my hair slowly while watching my reflection. My long hair falls in soft curls today, as if the wind itself has shaped them with care. I am wearing a beautiful long red gown that makes my presence feel more graceful, more complete.

As I look at myself in the mirror, a quiet nervousness stirs inside me. It feels as if my heart keeps asking the same question again and again, do I look good enough?

Suddenly, I sense someone behind me. I lift my eyes and look through the mirror. Mr. Wilson is standing there in a black suit. He is staring at me in silent surprise, not blinking even once. There is a deep shine in his eyes, as if he wants to say something but words are failing him.

Feeling shy under his gaze, I lower my eyes slightly and glance at myself again before asking softly, "What happened? Don't I look good?"

He doesn't answer. Instead, he walks toward me slowly. His silence makes my heartbeat quicken. He gently holds my arms and, without saying a word, places a soft kiss on my forehead. Then he looks at me for a moment longer, as if he is feeling every breath I take.

With a faint smile, I ask, "Shall we go?"

Instead of replying, he reaches into his pocket and takes out a small box. He opens it slowly. I look at it in surprise. Inside are the most beautiful diamond earrings, sparkling the moment the light touches them.

He takes one earring and carefully puts it on my ear, then places the other in my second ear. The light touch of his fingers sends a quiet shiver through my heart.

Smiling, he says, "Perfect. Now let's go."

I look at him. Truly, he looks incredibly handsome. The black suit makes him appear even more strong, confident, and classy. He holds my hand firm yet gentle and leads me out of the room.

As soon as we step outside, his bodyguards move around us. It feels a little strange, but being with him makes me feel safe. He takes me out of the hotel. Snow is falling outside, white flakes drifting slowly through the air.

It is cold, but he immediately wraps a shawl around me. Because of his care, I don't feel the cold at all. He opens the car door for me. I quietly sit inside. Then he takes his seat on the other side. The driver starts the car, and it begins to move forward slowly.

I turn my gaze to the window and begin watching the snow fall outside, lost in my thoughts.

The car stops right in front of a grand palace. Light spills out from inside, glowing all the way to the entrance, as if this place is meant only for the rich and the powerful. As soon as the driver parks the car, I slowly open the door and step out. The moment my feet touch the ground, my heart starts pounding hard.

He steps out of the car as well confident, composed, dressed in a black suit. Without saying a word, he takes my hand and begins to lead me inside.

The people standing outside security, staff, guests, suddenly freeze. For a moment, all their eyes are fixed on me. I don't understand why they are looking at me with such shock and curiosity. My steps almost falter, but his grip on my hand is firm, steadying me.

As soon as we enter, the glass doors behind us slide shut, The sight inside steals my breath.

A massive hall opens before me, adorned with crystal chandeliers and soft golden lights. Luxury is everywhere. The party is in full swing. Powerful business tycoons, celebrities, and high-profile guests fill the room.

And the moment we step in, Every single gaze turns toward us.

A wave of embarrassment washes over me. I feel like sinking into the floor.

He calmly removes his sunglasses.

Nervously, I take off my shawl. He takes it from my hands and silently passes it to a bodyguard. Then he holds my hand again.

The warmth and firmness of his grip keep me grounded; otherwise, I feel like I might lose control.

We walk forward. With every step, it feels as if all eyes are still following us. I try to keep my gaze lowered, but I can feel the weight of judgment in every stare.

He stops near a round table. Pulling the chair back slightly, he gestures for me to sit.

"Sit," he says softly.

I sit down quietly. He then takes the seat across from me, That's when my eyes fall on the sign placed on the table.

VIP

I freeze.

Are we... VIP guests here? My mind fills with questions.

Suddenly, a voice echoes through the hall.

"Ladies and gentlemen..." Everyone turns toward the stage.

A man stands there holding a mic "My name is Mr. Kevin," he says, "and first of all, I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Michael for being here tonight."

My heart skips a beat.

Mr. Kevin continues, "I would like to invite Mr. Michael to the stage to announce the deal we are about to finalize."

He rises from his seat beside me.

The moment he stands, the entire hall erupts into applause. People begin clapping enthusiastically, some even standing.

I watch him walk toward the stage, He takes the microphone and speaks in a calm, authoritative voice, "Thank you, Mr. Kevin."

Then he continues, "First, I'd like to inform you that this deal is based on blue diamond jewelry. Through this collaboration, Mr. Kevin and Wilson Empire are launching a new market strategy that will make blue diamonds far more accessible."

Soft whispers ripple through the hall. He pauses for a moment. Then he says, "But I want to make one thing very clear to all of you..."

The entire hall falls completely silent, "The CEO of Wilson Empire... is not me."

People exchange shocked glances. The murmurs grow louder, With a faint smile, he adds, "Please welcome, with a round of applause... the CEO of Wilson Empire..."

His eyes lift, locking directly onto mine, "And my wife... Mrs. Sara Wilson."

My heart feels as if it's about to burst out of my chest.

Suddenly, a bright white spotlight falls on me. The entire hall turns to look in my direction. Every single eye is fixed on me.

My hands begin to tremble. My fingers grow cold. For a moment, I can't even tell if I'm breathing or not.
