Chapter 27

"Get him away from me," he heard her say as she sat unmoving on the bed.

"Sweetheart," he whispered, putting his gun down and moving towards her, but she did not respond. She was still asleep, he realized as he looked closely at her.

"I am a good mother. I will never be like you," she said angrily. "Marcel, please get him away from me," she begged as tears ran down her cheeks.

"Who do you want me to get rid of for you, my love," he responded.

"My father," she whispered. "No, no, no, I am nothing like you!" She suddenly yelled. "I am a better parent than you ever were!"

Marcel knew right there and then the trigger for this nightmare.

"Nyasha," he said gently as he wrapped his arms around her, feeling her body relax as soon as he held her close. "Sweetheart, wake up," he coaxed gently as she opened her eyes, looking at him in surprise.

"I'm sorry," he whispered over and over again until she fell asleep once more.

Marcel's POV

I woke up to the scent of coco butter and smiled, feeling her slight movement as she shifted closer to me. After carefully debating with myself, I left her, heading downstairs to prepare some breakfast for her. After the rough night she had, staying off her feet would be my treat for her this morning. Plus, I had to acquire her forgiveness somehow, so why not start off by pampering her with a breakfast in bed, followed by who knows what. As I was spreading butter on some toast, I felt small arms go around my waist, a smile easily forming on my lips because I knew who it was.

"I'm sorry, Marcel," she whispered as I felt something wet on my back, making me turn around in an instant.

"No, no, no, love," I breathed out, wiping away her tears, tilting her head up to face me fully. She was my one true weakness, and tears staining her cheeks was something I hated, something that pained me.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have been reckless, especially with Debra in the mix," she mumbled.

"It's alright, baby. Nothing happened to you, and that is all that matters right now. I just don't want you around those two alone," I said the last part in a stern tone.

"Do I make myself clear?"

She smiled, nodding her head yes as a smile formed upon her lips.

"Good, or else you will not enjoy the punishment I will dish out for such bad behavior," I warned dangerously as her smile widened.

"Have I ever told you how I love this side of you," she asked in a sultry voice as her hands traveled down my chest just the way I liked.

"And which side is this, may I ask?"

"The bossy, possessive, overprotective side. Especially the possessive side because that means I can make you act like the beast that you are just for my pleasure in the end," she smirked as her fingers feathers over my bare skin.

"And how exactly will you unleash this beast within me," I asked, settling my hands on her waist.

"Well, picture this. We are attending that gala next week, and there will be many dashing gentlemen available for some fun," she said, regretting her words as my hold on her tightened slightly in warning.

-----

"You really are trying to test me, aren't you?" He asked with a deadly smile, his eyes showing all his emotions as he pulled her closer even though she fought to maintain some distance between them.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," she said, pretending to be lost a smirk playing on her lips.

"You know very well that any man that dares even lay a finger on you will lose that exact finger," he growled.

"But how am I supposed to dance?" She said in a surprised manner, knowing his next words.

"You will only dance with me, or not at all for all I care," he growled.

"But..." She said wide eyed.

"Nyasha, I swear, dance with anyone at the gala, and you will feel my wrath," he said through gritted teeth as a vein popped out of his neck. She tilted her head to the side as he looked at her looking appalled.

"But..."

"And if you so much as look at another man, I will f**k you so raw and hard that by the time I am done with you, you will need a wheelchair," he growled.

"You always make empty promises," she pouted. "Last time you said you would make me forget about Malcolm, but then again, he wasn't even in my system, so what was there to forget," she said in disappointment, trying to hide her smile as his eyes flared in anger.

"Then let me promise you this, my dear wife. If you so much as look in the direction of another man, you will regret ever doing so. I might even put you in a coma of bliss," he growled as she looked at him wide eyed before a smile formed on her lips.

"Very well. Now it's my turn," she said, taking him by surprise. This was not the reaction he expected as his heart rate quickened. He knew this woman was unpredictable, and he loved that about her.

"If you dare look at any other woman, touch them, kiss their hand or cheek in greeting for all I care, I will be the one screwing your brains out until I am the only woman in your system and on your mind. You know and I know that no one can do you like I do, and you can only imagine what it would be like if either one of us is angry," she said in a silky voice. "I will ride you until you are worn out, and trust me, I can keep up my dear husband. The question is, can you? So go ahead and kiss a few hands at the gala," she said, wrapping her hands around his neck, pulling him closer so she could whisper the next words in his ear.

"Or I can just hold out on all this," she said, molding her body to his as her hands played with his hair. "Then I won't be able to call you daddy," she smirked, feeling his arms tighten a little more but never hurting her.

"Fair enough," he smiled as she saw the raw desire in his eyes.

"Now, about breakfast?" She asked all of a sudden.

"You can't leave me like this," he growled as her gaze traveled down.

"If I had known negotiating with you was this fun, we could negotiate several times a day," she laughed as he lifted her up, placing her on the counter.

"Negotiating with you can always be more fun," he said in a husky voice as she wrapped her legs around him.

"What about breakfast," she asked.

"I'll feed you later. But for now, feed my appetite," he growled, kissing her as they left the kitchen.

--------

After getting an all-clear from Alex to go back to work, Nyasha felt excited to be finally out of the house, officially.

"No, you go inform him," she said as she looked up from her paperwork; some of her workmates were fighting over who would go who knows where.

"You should ask her," one said.

"No, I can't. She might refuse," they argued.

It was becoming irritating because they couldn't even whisper and were so undecided.

"Could someone explain what is going on?" She asked.

"Ma'am, there has been a system malfunction," one of them said as she looked at them in confusion before turning back to her papers.

"What exactly do you mean?"

"Someone tried to hack us, but the IT guys stopped them before anything could be obtained."

"Have you informed Mr. Martinez?" She asked.

"Well, he...he...we are afraid to go there," one stuttered, and she sighed, getting up.

"Follow me," she said, leading the way towards the elevator.

----

Just as they reached Marcel's door, it swung open as a young lad walked out clutching files haphazardously looking like he had got a beating dropping some as he saw them scrambling to gather them and quickly leave.

Walking into the office without knocking, he spun around, ready to yell, but he instantly relaxed when he saw that it was her.

"Sweetheart, what brings you here?" He smiled slightly, frowning when he saw the two gentlemen with her.

Turning to face the two gentlemen behind her, she told then to start speaking as she kept an eye on Marcel. Seeing him clench his jaw harder.

"Find out who tried to hack us. And upgrade all systems," he said as the two bobbed their heads in agreement.

"You may go," Nyasha said in dismissal as they quickly left.

Locking the door, she walked over to him as he looked outside once more, deep in thought.

"That's enough for one day," she whispered, taking his hand.

He obliged her, simply following her as she led him to a seat.

"And I need you relaxed at today's gala," she whispered as she straddled him, his arms instantly going around her. "Plus, I missed you," she whispered into his ear before gently biting on it. "And you need to thank me for the security upgrade I insisted upon for such matters," she murmured as he remained silent, paying attention.

"I missed you too," he finally spoke as she slowly worked out the knots in his shoulder muscles as he leaned back, closing his eyes before he felt her shift to move away from him. "Don't," he pleaded, pulling her back towards him.

Shifting her position, she ended up sitting on his lap, and he held her listening to her heartbeat.

"We need to go get ready for tonight," she murmured as she played with his hair.

"Let's just stay like this for a minute," he said, closing his eyes.

A minute turned into an hour as she shook him awake as exactly five-thirty.

"Darling, we have to go," she said as he loosened his hold on her.

"Do we have to go?" He groaned, standing up.

"Yes," she smiled, leaning up to kiss him awake.

He looked at her wide eyed, fully awake, a goofy smile on his face.

"Don't shave," she said as her hand played with his stubble.

"Anything else?" He asked with a cocky grin.

"Well, you could always go commando, because I know I am," she winked.

"Why do try to kill me like this, woman?" he groaned, grabbing his bag as she took their coats, chuckling to herself.

"Then wait until you see my dress."

----

"Remind me, why are we here again?" He grumbled underneath his breath as they reached the venue.

"It's a fundraiser for the multiple orphanages in the city," she said as the door opened. "How can you not know anything about a fundraiser you are throwing?"

"I have people to do all that," he grumbled.

Marcel stepped out first and held out his hand to help her out.

"I swear if you nothing underneath that coat, I will act like a caveman and carry out over my shoulder and back in it this car," he growled, looking at her coat.

"Relax, darling. What wife would I be if I came naked to a party," she purred as they made their way past the flashing lights into the venue.

He grunted as they passed through the security check easily as the manager rushed up to them.

"May I take your coats, sir, ma'am," he said as Marcel shrugged his off, stopping the man from helping Nyasha out of hers.

Handing over her purse to the manager Nyasha allowed her husband to help her, a knowing smile on her face as she heard him curse underneath his breath.

"You look stunning, ma'am," the manager gushed, earning a glare from Marcel before he quickly scurried away.

"So?" She asked, awaiting his approval.

His eyes roamed her frame with lust oozing from his look as he remained silent before she realized his mind was already elsewhere.

"Marcel," she whispered, seeing a look she knew all too well.

"You look ravishing, my love," he said, looking at her with raw passion. "If not for the fact that we are in public, I would bend you over and make you work out those pretty lungs of yours crying my name over and over again," he said in a husky voice.

"Marcel," she scolded as several pairs of eyes were looking in their direction.

"What? Do you think I care who hears us? Because tonight the neighbors will know my name, but the time I am through with you," he growled as she looked away from him before he went any further.

"Behave," she warned.

Wrapping his arm around her, they walked towards the crowded room.

Getting separated along the way after seeing old acquaintances, they kept a lookout for each other.

But Marcel made the mistake of greeting a business partner’s sister with a kiss on the hand. He felt eyes on him as he collided with hers before a smirk played on her lips.

Taking their seats, she did the least expected as she did not seem angry with him in the least bit.

"Would you care for a dance, Mrs. Martinez?" a young man said, making Marcel glare at him. But this man-child pretended to not see, paying more attention to Nyasha.

"Why I would love to," she said, running her eyes over the gentleman's tall frame. "Be back soon, darling," she murmured with a smile as she left him.

His eyes followed her, never once leaving her as she laughed in the arms of another man.

The timing could not have been any more perfect as his eyes met with those of Malcolm and Debra, who were clearly looking at his wife. Something was definitely going down.
