Chapter 51 Mouth That Bleeds Fire
Godiva POV
“What’s all this drama?” I asked, looking confused. “You’re a hoe just like your mother, why are you still forcing yourself on Jerald?” she thundered.
Dina and I locked eyes as I smirked. It was Dina’s unspoken rule to step up only when the situation wasn’t in my power, and she definitely knew I had this under control since Mama’s name was mentioned.
“On what basis are you saying all this bullshit?” I said, climbing up the table where she was standing. The crowd went wild, people cheering and waiting to witness what was about to happen.
“You... why did you swap groups to be in the same group as my man?” she said, stuttering.
It only took my laughter to make the hall go quiet yet again. I didn’t stop laughing until the hall was pin-drop silent. “Did I just hear you say ‘man’?” I asked, laughing hard. “You call that a man?” I thundered, pointing at Jerald. “Why didn’t you mark this stupid territory with your friends before they went on the school trip, huh?” I barked, almost pushing her off the table.
“Wha… what do you mean?” she stammered.
“Okay, I guess they forgot to tell you how your so-called ‘man’ was laying all of your minions one after another,” I said, laughing, ignoring all of the murmurs and commotion happening. I couldn’t feel any better since I had silenced Lis’s running mouth.
“Stop accusing them,” she thundered, still in the denial stage.
“Me? Accuse them? Hell no, I have no reason to. Ask your ‘man’ and these pigs,” I thundered, pointing at Abigail in a disgusted manner.
I was about to drop down from the table when I sighted Jerald looking distraught and giving me a threatening look. I suddenly turned back as though I had forgotten to say something and continued, moving closer to her. “You call that a man?” Laughing my ass out, “someone who gets beaten like an animal is who you call a man?” I teased as I dropped from the table and walked back to mine, with Dina giving me a high five.
The reaction that followed from the crowd wasn’t one I expected. Everyone began laughing while hitting their tables hard.
“Why do you guys even believe this cheap slut and man-thirsty bitch?” Leo’s voice rang all of a sudden in the midst of the chaos, making the hall go quiet yet again.
“What is the lie in all I said?” I asked, standing up from my seat.
“Everything,” he replied.
“I won’t stress myself with you. Birds of a feather flock together,” I said calmly, taking my seat.
“The only difference between you two is that Jerald is a little more humane than you and definitely more handsome than you,” I mocked him, standing up again.
“Look who is calling me ugly?” he thundered, stuttering. “You don’t dare call me ugly.”
“The only thing you can use to get even with me is only poverty or whatnot,” I replied, laughing hysterically. “Weak vessel,” I added, taking my seat for the umpteenth time.
“That’s enough for today,” Dina said, trying hard to stop herself from laughing.
For the first time in a long while, I didn’t feel any sense of guilt after all I did. I had wanted to talk about his trauma with women, but I knew that was going to be a very cheap thing to do, which was why I only spoke about his father’s abuse on him as my little revenge.
“An eye for an eye makes the world blind,” Hakeem said, standing in front of me, looking totally unbothered like a best friend should.
“Well, let’s all be blind then,” I thundered, looking him in the eye.
I quickly took my eyes off him the second Dina began humming “so this is love.”
“Shut up,” I said in a panic, pressing my hands over her lips.
“I’m proud of you, girl,” Dina said, shaking hands with me as we trekked to church for the choir rehearsal. “I really didn’t expect you to destroy them with your words. You know I was expecting a combat or something like that,” she continued.
“A combat is almost impossible because I’d be penalized since I have a black belt,” I said, nodding my head in disagreement to what Dina just said.
“I don’t give a shit about no black belt. When the person was being shameless, didn’t he or she think we’d possibly be good fighters? Or maybe they think wealth is physical strength,” she added, laughing very loud, drawing attention to us.
“Wow,” Dina and I both chorused at the beauty of the hall the second we stepped into the beautifully decorated church. Every corner of the church was adorned with red roses, red stickers, and red lights in preparation for our Valentine service happening in two days, which was about four days away from the actual Valentine’s Day, February 14th.
Rehearsal that day, unlike other days, was very interesting and full of love. All of the songs we rehearsed that day were songs that preached God’s love.
“Can I have a minute of your time?” Riley said, standing right in front of us. Since we told her about the affair and they got back together again, we did our best avoiding them.
“Thank you for telling me about Dan the other time,” she said. Without giving us room to say what we had wanted to say, she continued, “Next time, mind your business. That’s what your age grade should do.”
Dina and I stood mute for a few minutes after the warning. We were both surprised and shocked at the same time because we thought we were getting a genuine thanks. We least expected the plot twist. The way we both burst out laughing simultaneously was as though we had planned it.
“Isn’t that Jerald?” Dina asked, pointing in the direction of the notice board that sat in front of the church.
It felt like Jerald came here for trouble, "what the hell is he here for?" I asked hysterically.
