CHAPTER 13:
SOFIE
I can’t believe that the man I helped before was Don Ricardo, now all my questions have been answered as to why he chose me and that is because I was the only one who helped him and none of his family members helped him.
“ now I want you to know that Sofie Cruz will inherit half of my estate even though she will not become the Young Lady of Montequinto” I did not show any emotion and I just look at the people.
I can see the jealousy in their faces, I turn my eyes to Fatima, she was so happy and I saw a man beside her, is it Lucas? So that is how he looks. I smiled at him and he smiled back.
“ raise your hands if you have any questions,” said Don Ricardo.
I saw a woman who raised her hand but I was wondering who she is because I didn’t see her face in the Montequintos picture.
“ Who are you?” ask Don Ricardo. They all look at her
“ Sorry dad, I forgot to introduce my fiancé” we look at the man who talks, it’s the second son of Don Ricardo.
“ Theo! Who told you to bring that woman!” Don Ricardo was pissed.
“ Dad she will become a member of our family that is why she has to be here,” said Theo, my instincts were correct. He was an arrogant man
“ everyone meet Thalia my fiancé!” no one clap for her except me so they all look at me.
“ I think Mr. Theo Montequinto has a point but may I ask what your fiancé’s question is?” I look at her
“ thank you Young Lady but I just want to want to ask Don Ricardo, how sure are you that she is the one you are looking for,” asked Thalia.
“ hahaha! Poor girl, I think you don’t know me. I am not a man who just rushes into things because I hired someone to investigate and locate who it was and it won’t take this too long if I’m not sure about it. I’m telling you 100% that she was the one I’m looking for”. Said, Don Ricardo.
“ Dad it is not fair to give her half of your properties just because she saved you,” said Theo.
“ and why not? Did you try to help me before? Is there anyone of you who gave me food that time? No one! None of you helped me because you know that I was miserable at that time!
“ I gave you all that I have but you treated me like garbage, now that I became one of the richest men you suddenly come to me and want to get my properties. Hahaha! She should be the only one inheriting all of my properties and assets but because I have mercy on you I will still give what is right for you” he explained.
“ then tell us what are we going to inherit from you,” said Theo.
“ don’t worry because after Liam and Sofie get married, you will get what is right for you,” said Don Ricardo, and the people started whispering to each other.
“ wedding?!” ask Thalia, there’s something strange to this woman, I have to keep an eye on her.
“ Yes, wedding for my grandson Liam Montequinto and Sofie Cruz, and it will be held next year but for now, we have to focus on Lucas and Fatima’s marriage” the people are already quiet but I am still looking at Thalia.
“ Mr. Ronald I’d like you to investigate all of the details of the woman who talked”. I whispered to him.
“ yes Young Lady,” said Mr. Ronald
“ Miss Sofie, let’s go down for you to know them,” said Don Ricardo, we went down and they shake their hands with me until its Fatima’s turn.
“ Young Lady I’m happy to see you” she greeted me and hug me.
“ hello there Young Lady Sofie” I saw Lucas
“ Lucas” I smiled and hug him.
“ that’s enough, my brother’s eyes are already on fire” I silently laughed at what he said and look at Liam who was hiding in the glass made for him so that I won’t be able to see him.
“ unfair! You don’t hug me like that” said Liam.
“ hahaha! See? It’s only a hug but he’s already jealous” said Lucas so we laughed at him together with Don Ricardo.
“ don’t worry Liam after the wedding of your brother, Sofie can meet you and both of you will plan your wedding” we look at Don Ricardo.
“ really? I just have to wait for 1 month” Liam was excited.
“ Yes Liam,” said Don Ricardo, so I will be able to see Liam after a month.
“ yes! Yes! You heard that my lady!” I smiled
“ oh wait, you can see her at your brother's wedding because you two will be their best man and bride of honor” Liam got more excited.
“ I love you, grandpa! Madam can’t believe the reaction of Liam.
“ but promise me, always protect her” we look at Don Ricardo.
“ I will grandpa, I promise,” said Liam.
“ you should because if I heard that she cried because of you then I will be the one keeping her away from you even though you are my grandson” we were surprised by what Don Ricardo said
“ I am clear Liam?” asked Don Ricardo.
“ yes, grandpa” answered Liam.
The celebration went on. Someone caught my eyes, it’s Thalia with another man and I do not know who it is maybe one a new member of the Montequinto’s but I felt something weird while looking at them.
