Chapter 98 I've Been Looking for You for Five Years
"Abandon my husband?" Olivia sneered, her wrist aching from his tight grip, but she stubbornly tilted her chin up. "Luca, are you out of your mind? We signed the divorce papers, and it's legally recognized. I have nothing to do with you now!"
"Nothing to do with me?" Luca's knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists, his bloodshot eyes burning with anger and a hint of pain she couldn't understand. "Divorce paper? With my power, turning it into a worthless scrap is just a phone call away."
His words pierced Olivia's heart like a needle.
She knew too well how influential Luca was. If he said he could do it, he would.
But the more she realized this, the angrier and more helpless she felt.
"You're shameless!" Olivia trembled with rage, her eyes turning red. "Back then, you were the one crying and begging for a divorce. You signed the papers. And now you're going back on your word? You think the world revolves around you? I spent ten years caring about you, loving you in secret, three years married to you—and for what? All you ever cared about was Windy. You believed every lie she told and didn't even hesitate to end things with me!"
All the grievances she had buried for five years exploded at that moment.
Luca froze, staring at her reddened eyes. His heart felt like it was being squeezed tightly, the pain making it hard to breathe.
"I've been looking for you for five years," Luca's voice suddenly dropped, carrying a faint tremble she could barely notice. "After you left, I used every connection I had to search for you. Do you think I'd do that for no reason?"
Olivia's heart skipped a beat.
He looked for her for five years?
This realization left her mind blank, her emotions a tangled mess.
There was shock, confusion, and a tiny flicker of something she didn't dare admit to herself.
But soon, that flicker was drowned out by anger and bitterness.
"Looking for me?" She let out a cold laugh as tears finally spilled over. "Looking for me so I can come back and watch you and Windy flaunt your love? So I can be the stepping stone for your relationship again? Luca, are you sick?"
Just as the tension between them reached a breaking point, the air almost suffocating, Olivia's phone suddenly rang.
Jason's name flashed on the screen.
Luca's gaze turned icy in an instant. Seeing that name, jealousy and rage erupted in his chest like wildfire.
This man was always thinking about his woman, every single moment!
"Go on, answer it. Why don't you dare?" Luca's voice dripped with mockery. "Afraid I'll hear you two sweet-talking?"
Olivia wanted to answer, but Luca pinned her wrist down so tightly she couldn't move.
"Luca, let go of me!" Olivia struggled with all her might.
"Let go of you so you can cry to him about your troubles?" Luca sneered. Before she could react, he suddenly leaned down and kissed her hard on the lips.
The kiss was fierce, full of possessiveness and frustration, with a hint of madness. He forced her lips apart, taking her breath away without mercy.
Caught off guard, Olivia's mind went blank.
The familiar scent of cedar enveloped her, the heat and dominance of his lips making her instinctively resist, but her strength was no match for his.
She could feel his trembling, the pain and anger in his kiss, and her heart turned into a chaotic mess.
In the confusion, her fingers accidentally swiped the screen, and the call connected.
"Olivia?" Jason's gentle voice came through the phone, echoing clearly in the small space.
Olivia's heart raced in panic. She tried to speak, but Luca's kiss muffled her words into incoherent whimpers.
"Olivia? What's happening over there? Are you okay? I hear a man's voice. Are you in danger?" Jason's tone grew more anxious.
Hearing Jason's voice, Luca kissed her even harder, as if venting his jealousy or staking his claim.
He wanted Jason to know that Olivia was his woman, and no one could take her away!
Olivia felt both frantic and furious. Tears streamed down her face, mixing with the mess on her lips, making her look utterly disheveled.
With all her strength, she finally pushed Luca away, gasping for air as she reached to end the call.
Luca tried to stop her, but his fingertips accidentally brushed her cheek, touching her tears.
The warm sensation made his heart tighten.
Olivia seized the moment to hang up, glaring at Luca with eyes full of anger and disgust. "Luca, you've gone too far! You're insane!"
"Insane?" Luca licked his lips, still tasting her, his gaze burning as he looked at her. "Yeah, I'm insane. Insane for letting you go for five years, insane for searching for you for five years, insane with jealousy when I see you getting close to another man! What's really going on between you and Jason? Are you actually together?"
Olivia was backed into a corner, her back pressed against the cold door, her grievances and anger boiling over.
"Yes! We're together!" Olivia lifted her chin defiantly, deliberately provoking him as tears continued to fall. "At least he's not domineering and selfish like you. He doesn't hurt me like you do. He doesn't make me cry like you do! He cares about me, respects me, and shows up when I need him. He's a thousand, no, a million times better than you!"
Those words shattered Luca's last shred of control.
Seeing her defend another man, seeing the tears in her eyes, jealousy and pain twisted together in his chest, stripping away all his restraint.
He reached out to grab her shoulders, his eyes wild with possessive madness. "I won't allow it! You can't like him! You can only be mine!"
Olivia stared at his approaching face, at the crazed look in his eyes, and couldn't hold back anymore. She raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face.
The sharp "smack" echoed loudly in the tiny space.
Luca's head turned to the side from the force, a red mark instantly forming on his left cheek, stinging painfully.
He froze, staring at Olivia in disbelief.
Olivia was stunned too, her palm burning from the slap, but the anger in her heart eased a little.
She took a deep breath, straightened her back, and looked at him with firm, resolute eyes. "Luca, I'm warning you one last time. Stop harassing me! Otherwise, I don't mind letting everyone know that you, the president of Vettel Group, are a liar who can't keep his word and only knows how to cling to his ex like a pathetic jerk!"
With that, she pushed open the door and walked out quickly without looking back.
Luca stood there, not chasing after her.
He watched her determined figure disappear, the pain on his face nothing compared to the ache in his heart.
He touched his stinging cheek, his expression incredibly complicated.
Anger, pain, frustration, and a trace of relief he didn't even notice himself.
Relief that she was back, relief that she was alive, relief that he still had a chance.
He had waited five years; he didn't mind waiting a little longer.
As long as she was still in this city, as long as she was within his reach, he would find a way to bring her back to his side.
Olivia hurried out of the restroom, her heart still pounding, her chest a mix of anger and chaos, tears falling uncontrollably.
