Chapter 36 Baby Plans
The person who arrived was Linus's butler.
He gave a polite smile. "Mr. Linus would like you to come to the estate. He has something he wants to talk over with you."
Olivia suddenly had a bad feeling, though she couldn't figure out why.
The last time they were at the manor, they had pretended to be a loving couple in front of Grandpa. Could it be that Grandpa didn't believe them and wanted to question her again?
Olivia quietly speculated in her mind and cautiously asked, "Did Linus mention why he wants to see me?"
The butler gave her a meaningful look. "I'm not in a position to say much. You'll understand once you get there."
Olivia had no choice but to get in the car and return with the butler.
When they arrived at the manor, Linus was sitting at the table drinking tea. Beside him was a kind-looking woman in her forties.
Olivia didn't understand what was going on. "Grandpa, what did you want to see me about?"
Linus cleared his throat and smiled. "I'd like to introduce Jenna to you."
Jenna smiled and stood up. "Madam, my name is Jenna. I'm a professional nutritionist, and also a doctor."
What?
Olivia was confused. Why was Linus suddenly introducing a nutritionist to her?
Linus explained, "You and Luca have been married for a few years now. I know you're both busy with your careers, but some things are more important than work—like having a child of your own."
Hearing this, Olivia finally understood what was happening. She forced a smile. "Grandpa, I understand what you mean. But..."
Linus waved his hand. "Dr. Jenna is an expert in women's health and nutrition—she helps boost fertility through diet. Starting today, she'll be staying at the house with you. She'll put together a personalized meal plan and keep an eye on your health, so you and Luca can have a baby soon."
Olivia was startled and felt completely at a loss.
She couldn't possibly let Jenna stay with her because she was already pregnant!
Jenna, being a doctor, would easily notice something was off.
Besides, she was about to divorce Luca, so planning for a baby was out of the question.
Olivia didn't know what to do and stood there without responding.
Linus looked puzzled. "What's wrong? Is there a problem with my arrangement? Or is there some other reason you don't want a child right now?"
Olivia clenched her hands nervously.
After the family gathering, she and Luca would be getting a divorce. This was the perfect chance to shift the blame onto Luca.
He wouldn't want a child with her anyway, and even if he found out she used him as an excuse to refuse Grandpa, he probably wouldn't get upset.
Olivia quickly explained, "I'd love to have a child, but lately, work at the company has been so busy. Luca is completely focused on his projects, and I don't want to add the stress of trying for a baby on him…"
The smile on Linus's face faded.
Afraid he might get angry, Olivia added, "Why don't we let Jenna go home for now? Once Luca's project is done next month and he's not so busy, I'll start focusing on getting ready for pregnancy. Luca's barely been home—he's practically living at the office. Even if Jenna does everything she can to help me, I can't get pregnant by myself, right?" She gave a helpless smile.
Linus immediately understood—it was all his grandson's fault!
His expression turned cold. So, Luca isn't ready for a child yet? He's even staying at the office and not coming home! "Fine, I'll go along with your plan for now."
Olivia nodded quickly. "Thank you for understanding, Grandpa." Seeing how frustrated he looked, she felt a bit guilty but also quietly relieved.
Linus said, "You can go back now."
"Alright, we'll definitely prepare properly next month." She turned and left.
After the family gathering next month, she would no longer have any ties to the Vettel family.
By then, Luca could break the news of their divorce to Linus.
The pregnancy plan she agreed to now would never come to pass.
Meanwhile, Luca was standing at the door of an apartment, his face grim.
The floor was covered in water, the ceiling was still leaking, and all the furniture and daily items were soaked.
Windy, wrapped in a blanket, was drenched from head to toe. Her hair clung to her face in wet strands, and she looked utterly miserable.
Her eyes were red, and her voice was weak. "I'm so sorry, Luca, for troubling you again. I came home from work and found it like this. The workers said they can't fully fix it until tomorrow, and even then, I won't be able to live here right away. I—I don't have a place to stay for now." Windy lowered her head, looking small and lost, like a stray puppy. "What should I do?"
Luca felt moved by her helplessness. Suddenly, he remembered the time he'd fallen into the water by accident, and Windy had jumped in to save him. She must have been just as soaked back then.
His heart softened, and a sense of responsibility to take care of Windy surged within him. "Don't worry, I'll arrange something for you."
Luca grabbed his phone and called his assistant. "Reserve a room for Windy at the best five-star hotel downtown, right away. And get someone over to handle the flooding at her apartment."
Windy gave him a grateful smile. "Thank you, Luca."
Suddenly remembering her situation, she pulled at her wet clothes. "All my clothes are soaked and ruined. It's so late, the stores are probably closed, so I can't buy anything to wear. What am I supposed to do? I have work tomorrow."
Luca frowned as he listened, not expecting things to be this complicated.
Windy hesitated before asking, "Olivia and I have similar builds. I'm sure her clothes would fit me. Could I borrow some of hers for now?"
Borrow Olivia's clothes?
Luca frowned slightly, wanting to refuse. But seeing Windy still in her wet clothes, he didn't hesitate further.
It was just a couple of outfits. Olivia had plenty of clothes; losing a few wouldn't matter.
Luca nodded in agreement. "Alright, I'll take you there now."
Just as Windy was about to thank him, Luca's phone rang.
Seeing it was Linus calling, Luca was a bit surprised.
On the other end, Linus's tone was extremely serious. "Luca, I don't care where you are or what you're doing. Come to the manor right now!"
Luca felt a bit nervous.
Grandpa rarely spoke to him in such a stern tone. Something big must have happened.
"Alright, I'll be there soon." After hanging up, Luca apologized, "You go settle in at the hotel first. I'll have my assistant get you some temporary clothes. Grandpa has an urgent matter and called me back, so I can't go with you."
Windy quickly stopped him. "But Luca, I need to change into proper clothes first thing tomorrow morning for work. Don't you remember? There's an important meeting in the morning."
"Then what do we do?" Luca was getting a bit impatient.
Windy suggested her plan. "Can I go to your place now? If Olivia is home, I'll explain everything to her. For the sake of the company meeting, I'm sure she'll let me borrow a couple of outfits."
Luca, eager to get to the manor, agreed. "Fine, go there on your own then. Be careful on the way."
Windy flashed a bright smile. "Okay, I will."
After watching Luca leave, her expression gradually turned cold.
Half an hour later, Olivia arrived at the villa's entrance and noticed an unfamiliar car parked outside.
She opened the door to the living room and had just set down her bag when she heard footsteps coming from upstairs.
Then, her bedroom door was opened.
Windy walked out, wearing Olivia's clothes.
Olivia's face instantly darkened.
