Chapter 63 Luna
Chapter 63 Luna
Lucienne’s Point of View
The air buzzed with anticipation as the pack gathered beneath the silver glow of the half-moon. The courtyard of the pack house had been transformed into a vision of ethereal beauty—magical Fae lights draped from the trees thanks to Aunty Avril and Aunty Alise, their glow soft and warm against the deepening twilight. The scent of fresh roses and lilacs filled the air, mingling with the crisp, earthy scent of the forest.
Tonight, I would become the heart of the Howling Moon Pack, their Luna. My heart raced as I glanced around, taking in the familiar faces of my friends and family, along with some of the pack members I had met. Most were warriors, but since I encouraged everyone to train, I was coming to know all of them.
My parents stood near the front of the gathered crowd, regal and proud. My father would preside over the ceremony, a rare and significant honour. Beside him, my mother, looking every bit the Queen she was, offered me a soft, reassuring smile.
On either side of me stood Marc and Cole, my mates, my partners, my anchors. Our unbreakable bond hummed with warmth and love. They looked at me with pride and adoration, their presence grounding me as the ceremony prepared to begin.
When my father stepped forward, the crowd fell silent. His commanding voice echoed through the clearing, strong and steady. “Tonight, we gather under the light of the Moon Goddess to celebrate Lucienne’s ascension as Luna of this pack. This is no ordinary ceremony, for Lucienne is no ordinary Luna. She is a warrior, a protector, and a leader. She is the Goddess-given fated mate of your Alphas, Marc and Cole, and together, they will guide this pack into a future of strength and unity.”
My father’s words filled me with both pride and a deep sense of responsibility. I stepped forward, meeting his eyes as he continued.
“The Luna vows are sacred, a bond between the leader and her pack, a promise to protect and serve. But tonight, these vows are different.” His gaze shifted to Marc and Cole, who nodded in silent agreement. “Tonight, we affirm that Lucienne is not just a Luna who serves her Alphas. They have asked that she be recognised as their equal, their partner, their guide. Together, they will lead as one.”
The murmurs of approval from the crowd were a balm to my nerves. I could feel the weight of tradition and change blending seamlessly in this moment.
“Lucienne,” my father said, his voice softening, “do you vow to protect this pack with all the strength, wisdom, and compassion the Moon Goddess has bestowed upon you? Do you vow to lead with courage and fairness, to guide your pack in times of peace and stand as a shield in times of war?”
I lifted my chin, my voice steady despite the lump in my throat. “I do.”
Marc and Cole stepped forward, each taking one of my hands in theirs. Together, we knelt before my father, who placed his hands on our joined ones.
“Marc and Cole, do you vow to stand by Lucienne as equals, to share in the burdens of leadership, and to honour the bond the Moon Goddess has blessed you with?”
Their voices rang out in unison. “We do.”
My father raised his hands to the moonlit sky. “Then, by the will of the Moon Goddess, I name Lucienne Luna of this pack.”
A cheer erupted from the gathered wolves as my father stepped back, and Marc and Cole rose beside me. Marc pulled me into a tight embrace, his warmth steady and reassuring. Cole followed, his touch light but filled with unspoken emotion.
Knowing that Ellis had let it slip that Marc and Cole had shifted to become Lycans, there was a muted surprise when they shifted into their half-form, towering over me. Since I was Luna now, I could feel each and every reaction. It was affirming that the pack was truly excited for them.
As the ceremony transitioned into celebration, the courtyard filled with laughter and music. Omegas flitted about, serving food and drink, while the younger wolves danced near the bonfire.
I heard questions from pack members asking Marc and Cole about their new forms. The answers made me smile. “Yes, we did become Lycans when we marked our Luna.” “Yes, she is a Lycan and a member of the Royal Family.” “Yes, apparently, we are Princes, but we’re still your Alphas, first and foremost.”
I continued to smile as I mingled with my pack, accepting their congratulations and well wishes. The bond I felt with them was stronger than ever, a tangible thread connecting me to each and every one of them.
——
After the last toast had been made and the pack began to disperse, Marc and Cole led me back to our suite. The room was dimly lit, the stillness a stark contrast to the lively celebration we’d just left behind. The muffled sounds of laughter and music drifted from downstairs, fading as we closed the door behind us.
Marc’s hand lingered at the small of my back as he turned to me, his voice gentle, filled with the kind of warmth that only he could carry. “How are you feeling, Luna?”
The title made my heart flutter, the weight of it both grounding and uplifting me. I smiled, letting the warmth of the day settle in my chest. “Grateful,” I said softly. “Happy. Whole.”
Cole stepped closer, his fingers brushing a strand of hair away from my face with a tenderness that made my breath hitch. “You were incredible tonight,” he said, his voice a mix of pride and admiration. “You’re incredible every night, every day.”
“Buttering me up, Alpha?” I smirked.
“Is it working?” he teased.
“It’s certainly looking that way,” I continued the banter.
Their love and support radiated so brightly that it was almost overwhelming. The steady rhythm of their hearts, the sincerity in their eyes—it wrapped around me like a protective cocoon. I reached for them both, pulling them into a hug, needing to feel their strength and love surrounding me. “I couldn’t have done it without you,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion.
We lingered in that embrace, our connection so palpable it felt as if the room itself held its breath for us. The silence wasn’t empty—it was full of everything we didn’t need to say. Slowly, I pulled back, meeting their gazes, my own filled with a spark of determination.
“There’s something I need to do,” I said, my voice steady but laced with emotion.
Marc’s brow furrowed slightly, concern flickering across his face. “What is it?” he asked, his tone cautious.
Instead of answering, I stepped closer and leaned up, capturing his lips with mine. The kiss was slow but purposeful, my hands threading through his hair as I poured everything I felt into it. I could feel the tension in him melt away as he deepened the kiss, his arms wrapping around me tightly.
When our lips parted, I turned to Cole. His darkened eyes searched mine for a moment before I closed the space between us and kissed him just as deeply. My tongue seeking entrance by licking his bottom lip. His grip on my waist tightened as he inhaled sharply, his wolf responding instinctively to the shift in my scent.
Allowing my arousal to permeate the space, I watched as their expressions shifted, their wolves responding instinctively to the shift in energy. The room felt charged, the air thick with anticipation. Their lidded eyes were locked on me, their surprise slowly giving way to understanding. The raw intensity of their emotions mirrored my own.
“Lucienne,” Marc said softly, his voice low and tinged with hesitation. “Are you sure about this?”
I nodded, my heart full of certainty. “I’m sure,” I said firmly, meeting their gazes without wavering. “I’ve missed you. I missed you both. I’m ready.”
Their smiles lit up the room, their love for me shining through in a way that left me breathless. Cole stepped forward, cupping my cheek as his mouth explored mine with growing intensity. My breath hitched, breaking into a soft, shaky sound as my lips parted.
Marc’s hand found the zip of my dress. His hands moving to my hips as my dress fell to the ground. Their touch, their warmth, their steady presence—it was everything I needed in that moment.
His breath fanned my skin as he bridged the gap between us, a tantalizing proximity. His hardened tool pressed against my back, announcing his desire. A low, throaty murmur resonated from my throat, vibrating with raw intensity. My desired matched his.
I reached behind me, my fingers brushed against the cool fabric of his waistband, seeking the zipper's edge. Successful in my endeavours, I sought to lower the waistband of his tight fitting boxer briefs. Finally, his hot hard length felt so good in my hand, and I realised that I wanted them both at once. My other hand reached to Cole, intent on repeating my actions.
“Allow me,” he murmured before deepening our kiss once more.
