The Mission
Charlotte headed back up to her room with Nate as she awaited their return.
"I won't be able to sleep, Nate.", she said as she looked out her window looking upset.
Nate watched as her sadness filtered through the room into him. Walking up, he stood beside her allowing her to feel his presence.
"I will stay with you and be with you through it all. Stay with me, don't let me go. I will be here for you until they return.", he said calmly.
Charlotte turned to him throwing her arms around his waist and burrowing her face into his chest. She held onto him tightly as she began to cry.
Gently he placed his arms around her and patted her back with one hand while holding the back of her head with the other.
He did not say anything more and allowed her to find a safe place in his arms just to feel.
She knowing that her family went out to finish the dangerous battle without her, gave her pause and worry.
Across town Yibo stood at his office window looking out as he ran his hands through his hair. They had not gotten any closure to the culprit today than they did yesterday and he felt sick about it.
Evan sat on the couch with his head in his hands feeling completely helpless. Every avenue they had taken to find the person who ordered the hit on Charlotte, turned into a dead end.
Wiping his hand down his face, Evan leaned back against the couch. 'I have lost her', he thought to himself.
Just then the phone on Yibo's desk began to ring. Walking over to the phone, Yibo answered the phone and stood still as he listened to the other person on the line.
"It is me.", Jeh said calmly. "We have it under control, there is nothing you need to do except sit still."
Yibo relaxed his shoulders as he sat down in his desk chair. "I understand", he said simply.
"I wanted you to know we are moving on him now.", Jeh said clearly.
"I understand. We will not move. We will await your call when it is done.", Yibo said comfortable with the progression of things since Jeh had called.
With that Jeh ended the call. Yibo then made a call stating, "Tell everyone to hold and not move on anything. I will follow up shortly. No one is to move without my order."
As soon as the call had been made, it had ended.
Evan sat up straight on the couch looking directly at his Father for an update.
Yibo spoke clearly to his son, "It is all being taken care of by Charlotte's Team. They will inform us once complete."
"Damn it!", Evan said has he slammed his fist onto the arm of the couch.
"We didn't protect her and we didn't fix it either. Fuck!", he then stomped out of the office slamming the door behind himself.
Yibo felt sorry for his son, but knew that this is the best path for Charlotte to be safe. His team doesn't even know where the culprit is. This is not the time to have a pissing contest to try to beat each other to the kill. The most important thing in this is Charlotte and however the threat can be eliminated is the correct path.
The van carrying the team pulled into the underground garage of the apartment building where the hateful man had been staying. Backing the van up to the elevator they were met with security guards whom nodded to them advising without words that they were onboard with the taller guard. Remaining in the van to control the video feeds for the building, Axel kept the van running.
Exiting the van quickly, Seth rolled the wheelchair into the waiting elevator pressing the button up to the specific floor they needed. Taser in hand, Grayson stood ready. Bull remained hypervigilant with gun in hand.
The elevator floors increased as they rose to the appropriate floor. The doors opening, the team swiftly traveled to the left where two security guards awaited their arrival. The taller of the guards nodded his head as he opened the door allowing entry to the apartment. The team entered the apartment clearing the livingroom without words. Proceeding to the right they entered the bedroom, finding the asshole on the bed seemingly passed out. Grayson stepped forward without missing a beat and tased the hateful man. Seth stepped forward zip tying the hands and feet of the unconscious man.
Lifting the man as if he weighed nothing, Bull threw him into the wheelchair. Placing a shirt over the top of the man holding him in place to the chair as well as covering his ties, they turned and made for the exit.
Exiting the apartment they entered the waiting elevator that the taller of the guards had been holding for them. The taller of the guards smiled with appreciation as he nodded to them as they headed back down the elevator.
The doors opened to the garage without any issues. The van waiting, the wheelchair rolled into the back in seconds, ramp pulled, and doors closed.
Exiting the underground garage they headed to the rendezvous to meet up with Alan.
The drive took time to get to where they were going. Periodically Grayson would tase the captive to ensure he did not wake. The smell of alcohol on the man was already potent but Grayson saw an opportunity for payback and he took it.
Finally they pulled up to the land where laser tag had been held. This time there were no assistants waiting to welcome them as they had arranged it this way.
Backing the van up aiming it toward the building, Alan stepped out with a smile knowing everything had went seamlessly.
The prisoner unloaded, Bull threw him over his shoulder making his way to the rear of the property where Alan had everything set up.
Axel had set up motorized lines in the pattern the SUV had been pushed when the assault on Charlotte had happened.
Bull placed metal cuffs on the hateful man and lifted him up attaching him to the starting point of the line.
The point of keeping him unconscious was due to Charlotte being awakened from sleep by Bull holding her in place while the truck began to spin.
Bull became vindictive when someone hurt his little girl. He would make certain that whatever fear she may have experienced would also be felt by this piece of shit!
Axel started the motor of the lines jerking the occupant sideways as Alan threw water over the hateful man forcing him awake.
The eyes of the hateful man grew wide as he began to fly through the air while the guys opened fire on him. They were sure not to hit anything important as they intended for his fear to last as long as the time it took them to secure the safety of Charlotte from the assault.
Just as the hateful man came to the end of the line, he threw up both from the motion and the alcohol.
Bull without holding back, took a step forward and placed the barrel of his gun flush against the forehead of the man and pulled the trigger. Just like that the punishment was complete and threat neutralized.
Axel radio called the clean up crew as the team made their way to the SUV that Alan had brought beginning the trip back to the mansion.
