Chapter 88 Smoke and Spite

Chapter 88 Smoke and Spite
Bianca

Marseille has always felt like a city made for secrets—sunlit cafés with shadowed corners, narrow streets made for slipping away unnoticed, and the kind of soft, humid air that carries gossip like perfume.

Bianca sips her espresso slowly, tapping her manicured nail against the ceramic as she stares out the window.

Sienna sits across from her, legs crossed, sunglasses perched on her head like a crown, scrolling through her phone with the practiced detachment of someone deeply obsessed with herself.

They’re waiting.

They’ve been waiting.

But now—finally—something.

A quiet buzz. Bianca’s burner phone lights up.

She answers with a lazy, “Yes?”

A gravelly male voice answers. “They’re on the move. The woman and the three men boarded a flight out of Denver this morning. Destination: London.”

Bianca’s lips curl into a slow, serpentine smile. “How very predictable.”

Sienna leans forward, eyes gleaming. “So they’re heading back to the UK?”

“Confirmed,” the voice says. “Looks like they’re planning to be there for a while. The new property’s being renovated.”

“Good. Keep watching,” Bianca says coolly. “And if you catch anything worth using—photos, videos, patterns—we pay double.”

She ends the call.

“Well?” Sienna prompts.

“They’re heading to the UK,” Bianca says, swirling the last of her espresso. “Perfect little nesting trip for their perfect little poly playground.”

Sienna snorts. “I bet they’re already measuring for monogrammed bassinets for the next time that slut gets knocked up.”

Bianca’s eyes narrow. “Let’s see how perfect things are when their relationship is blasted across the tabloids with the right… edits.”

Sienna grins. “Blackmail, scandal, fake leaks? I’m in.”

“I have a friend at a PR firm who owes me a favor. One fake tip-off about this dirty affair, and Selene’s reputation will go up in flames.”

“Do we even know which of them she’s officially with?”

“Does it matter?” Bianca lifts her chin, her face full of vicious malice . “In the public’s eyes, a woman can sleep with one man and be worshipped—or sleep with three and be destroyed. We just need the right angle. And that bitch will be finished”

Camille, who’s been sitting beside them pretending to scroll through her feed, shifts uncomfortably.

Sienna turns. “Something to say?”

Camille doesn’t look up. “This feels… ugly and wrong .”

Bianca lifts an eyebrow. “Sweetheart, it is ugly. That’s the point.”

“I just… I don’t want to be part of ruining someone’s life.”

“Well Good,” Bianca says flatly. “Remember she ruined Sienna and my life first. And also you don’t have to do anything . Just listen.”

Sienna laughs. “Relax, Cam. You’re not pushing the button. You’re just holding the bag.”

Camille mutters something under her breath and goes silent again.

Meanwhile –

The detective sits in an idling car across from a beige apartment building in the quieter district of Marseille.

She finally emerges.

Bianca.

Same sleek hair. Same designer sunglasses. Slight limp in her step like she’s favoring one foot. She laughs at something one of the women beside her says, then steps into a black car.

He lifts his camera, snapping burst after burst.

Then dials.

Jonathan answers on the second ring.

“It’s me,” the detective says. “I’ve got her in my sights . She’s here.”

Jonathan’s voice sharpens. “Confirmed?”

“Visual match confirmed. Photos taken and Time-stamped. She’s using a different name, changed her hair colour , but it’s her. She is with two different women ”

Jonathan exhales slowly. “Good work. Keep that viper in your sights. I'm alerting my connection at Interpol, I want this handled properly so that she can't slip away. And make sure to get in on their conversations , spare no expense on whatever equipment is needed."

The detective watches Bianca’s car disappear around the corner.

“Don’t worry,” he says. “She’s not getting away this time.”as he starts his car and starts to trail them.
