Ruby
The moment I step out of the cab, from nowhere, someone blindfolds me and gags me. Before I know it, I’m floating on air as if someone is carrying me. I am not given a chance to either speak or defend myself. I try to pick on the scent, but It’s unnoticeable.
I hope they didn’t do anything bad to my mother. I try to calm myself, hoping my mates would feel my fear and come to help me. Weirdly, I don’t sense any danger. Maybe it’s because I have faith in my mates.
In just a moment I’m placed down and the gag is removed, though my hands are held in place behind me.
“Please let me go.” I beg. But I don’t get any response. I try to free myself from the persons grip, but they are too strong for me. Why is my life always so dramatic?
“What do you want from me?” I ask, slowly their grip on me loosens, the blindfold comes off too, and suddenly, I’m blinded by the lights the moment my eyes open, I can’t even tell where I am. I start backing away trying to find an exit or somewhere to go. I cannot see the person who had carried me.
I gasp as Owen, Rowan, and Damien appear before me with smiles plastered on their faces. Was this a prank, after going radio silent on me the whole day?
“OMG, do you want to kill me with fright?” I ask, finally releasing the breath I didn’t know I was holding. "Whose idea was this?" I ask anger boiling up in me.
“We are sorry.” They say in unison as they all get down on one knee, I thought they were apologising when they went down but when they remove tiny red velvet boxes from their pockets my heart flutters. Even with my anger they look dashing, they almost take my breath away.
“Ruby.” Owen starts, “for the last ninety-nine years I’ve waited to meet you patiently, but when I was almost a hundred years I lost hope. As demons the hope to find our mates fades as we approach hundred years. I thought I would never find you, then Damien invited me to his party, I thought it would be lame, but I just had to go because of the treaty. What I hated the most was interacting with other realms, but I still came to his party and I met you. The moment I laid my eyes on you, with that beautiful blue dress you had on, time seemed to have stopped, I could hear my cold heart beating so frantically as our eyes met and at that moment I knew the wait was worth it.” He pauses and smiles. His words fill me with immense joy. I didn't expect this at all.
“Ruby.” Damien says, “you are my mate my Luna and I would give up absolutely everything just to be by your side, my love. You are my better half, the woman created for me. And I will do everything just to always see you happy.” All the anger I had for them earlier evaporates, all I’m left with are tears of joy streaming down my eyes. This was truly happening, I have been wishing to live with them, and the goddess heard my prayer.
“Ruby Darling, I am not going to promise anything, I believe my actions will speak louder.” Rowan, a man of few charming words says. Every word that comes out of their mouth melts my heart. My love for them grows even stronger.
“I don’t know what to say, you just took me by surprise.” I smile and cry at the same time.
“You don’t have to say anything baby, but there is a word we can’t wait to hear from you.” Owen says, his ruby eyes glowing.
“Ruby will you be my wife?” they say in unison, I gasp placing my hand on my mouth. I knew they were going to say it, but when I actually heard it, it made me feel so special. I nod first before answering. “Yes Owen, Damien, Rowan it will be my pleasure.” I say.
Each of them opens their boxes, Damien’s has a beautiful diamond ring on it, Rowan’s has a gold bracelet and Owen’s has a ruby necklace. Wow, how unique, I once thought I would have to wear three rings. Damien places the ring on my middle left finger, Rowan a bracelet on the same hand and Owen places the necklace on me.
Suddenly, a cheer is heard beyond the blinding lights, that’s when I realize there was a crowd watching us, the lights go down, and they are replaced by normal lights.
“My darling congratulations.” My mom steps forward, hugging me so tightly. I notice a man behind mom, he seems so familiar for some reason. His face is all so emotional, it's like he has been crying.
“You knew mom, and you didn’t tell me?” I ask. I am aware of my mates hands all over me. wait a minute my fiancé's, how lucky.
“How could it have been a surprise then?” she chuckles.
“Congratulations my friend, I really envy you.” Zama says hugging me.
“Were you in on this too.” I ask.
“Of course, you are my friend right.” She smiles, but it doesn’t reach her eyes. She seems somehow sad. I will ask her about it later.
“Come on baby.” Owen literally pulls me out of Zama’s arms.
"I'll speak to you later my friend." I say smiling but I don't get any response from her.
“You must be hungry.” Damien says, completely ignoring her as well. Did they have a collision I don’t know about? Well, that will be a story for another day. For now, let me enjoy my men.
After dinner everyone leaves except the four of us.
“I’m still mad at all of you for not speaking to me today.” I say pretending to be angry and look away.
“We are sorry, baby. We will do anything to make it up to you.” Owen says kissing my cheek. They brought their chairs so close to mine that our breathes meet.
“Anything?” I ask smiling cheekily.
“Anything.” Rowan and Damien answer nodding. They is a little worry evident on their faces though. They are genuinely sorry.
“Alright then, let’s go back to the hotel.” I say, I’m so horny, and they must know it because my pheromones are all over the place.
“Say no more, Love.” Damien scoops me off the floor, Owen and Rowan place their arms on Damien’s shoulders, and in a moment we are back in the hotel room.
I’m so happy that they now get along so easily.
