Why are they taking so long, I can’t stop pacing around it has been hours it’s already nighttime. The cabin has been like that all day. I have tried all I could to pass through this freaking barrier, but I haven’t. Just as I am about to tap into the barrier again with all my might, something weird happens. I fall through, finding myself in a entirely different place.
The weather, and environment changes, it's even day time here, since I fell flat on my face, when I get up I am met with three sets of eyes. Mr. Noah, Anna and some weird looking woman. Her white hair is so long that it's blowing freely against the wind.
I get up nervously, my whole being afraid of what I am reading on their faces, I am just afraid of asking.
“Is everything okay miss Powers?” I ask Ruby's mom. She just looks at me and shakes her head. The tiredness evident on her face and eyes.
“No, please don’t tell me my Ruby is…" I rush past them and into the house. I stop in my tracks when I see three unconscious Ruby's lying on the wide table. They are identical, they look so peaceful, and I don't think they are breathing.
I walk slowly towards the table, but some invisible force doesn't allow me to fully reach them.
“What the hell happened in there.” I ask feeling my rage escalating, it's the only feeling I can feel now because if not, I am going to break down.
“Hey don't panic son.” Ruby's mom takes my hand.
“How can I not panic, mom.” I ask, a single tear escaping my eyes. “She is lying in there cold, mom.” Why am I calling her mom again. She is way younger than me.
“She is going to be fine, she is just in a deep sleep.” She assures me wiping there tear off my face. I feel relief washing over my body, as she explains what is needed for them to wake up. I would even give my life if it meant saving Ruby.
I smoke out in my demon form, of course outside the barrier, apparently if I do that in the circle I am going to be trapped in limbo for all eternity. I don't know if it's true, or they are just playing with me.
It takes me just twenty minutes to locate Damien's wolf running in the field at his pack mansion under the moon. I stop in front of him, his beta I presume, brings him clothes after he finally shifts.
“What do you want here bastard.” He comes at me all angry. I just smile, he is just a baby to me, I would whip his a without even blinking, but for now, I am here because I want my mate to be okay. I want to be able to be with her without her feeling guilty, I want to take her around the world, I just want to be the one to fulfil all her desires.
The hope I am feeling after seeing the three girls lying on the table is unexplainable. I am finally going to have my mate, I will never have to share. I just hope all goes well.
“I am not here to argue with you fool…" I continue to explain everything about Ruby having her sisters in her and how they are already separated. He breaks down after hearing all this, of course I don't really care about him. We find Rowan, it doesn't take much to convince him. After that I teleport them to the place where Ruby is.
We get there right in time, the witchy woman draws blood right from our arteries mixes it, then opens each Ruby's mouth and drops some amount on each Ruby.
“Now what?” Noah asks, even if I don't know him, I can tell how worried he is. Rowan can't stop pacing around and Damien is seated on the floor leaning on the adjacent wall, and are those tears in his eyes?
I just keep imagining Ruby getting up and running into my arms, and that's what is keeping me sane.
“Now we wait.” Witchy woman says expressionless. But the confidence in her voice is evident.
After like five minutes two Ruby's spring up, my heart flinched, as I watch slowly as they get down from the table. They are covered in a white wrapper reaching their knees and it's tied at the back of their necks. It's like a movie or some joke, they are identical I can't even tell them apart, but why is the other one still sleeping.
I see miss Powers walking towards her daughter's, shaking and tears streaming down her face. I want to move but my legs seems to be stuck on the floor. My mind wishes to move, but my heart tells me that my Ruby is the one who isn't awake.
“My babies.” She says enthusiastic, pulling them into her embrace.
“Mom.” They say in unison, the voice is just the same. My heart can't stop beating so fast, by this time Rowan and Damien are already beside them.
“Oooh, you called me mom, my Pearl and Rashel.” She says, are those their names? And how did she recognise them?
My knees give in, I fall to the ground knees fast. My chest starts tightening, the reality is hitting me now. What if she doesn't wake up.
“What about Ruby?” I manage to ask. The witchy woman looks confused.
“She was the host, and there is no guarantee if she will wake up.” The woman says.
“What, you didn't tell me about that Nessy.” Miss Powers asks letting go of Pearl and Rashel.
“Everything has consequences, Anna.” She answers without any remorse.
“No, not my Ruby. Noah, our Ruby.” She cries, Noah rushes to her side.
“She will get up, you'll see.” He says, comforting her.
“But we are here, mom.” Pearl or Rashel says, I can't really tell who is who. I want my Ruby, though. “It's our time now.” She adds. What does that even mean? Do they know how much Ruby endured having them stuck in her, I want to cut her tongue off but I stop myself. She is an exact replica of my Ruby so I can't hurt her, it will be like I am hurting Ruby.
'Ruby, please get up for me, you promised not to leave me.' I call into my mind. I try to listen to her thoughts, but there is nothing, I can't even feel her presence.
'Please Ruby fight, for me, I miss you so much, I want you in my arms again.' I say pushing my words into her unconscious mind, I hope they work. I hope my words find her whatever she is now.
I watch as Damien goes onto his one knee and extend his arm, Pearl my mate. He says laughing and crying at the same time. Pearl smiles and reaches her hand, Rashel rushes into Rowan's arms, I am left just watching. I feel devastated seeing Ruby lying so still, and I can't even go near her because of the barrier placed around her.
“What will happen to her now.” I ask, looking at my Ruby.
"We just have to wait demon." Nessy or whatever her name is says. I sit flat on the floor, I will wait right here for her to wake up. I will not sleep, eat or drink. If she dies, I die.
