Chapter 2 She Had Saved Michael's Child?
Five Years Later.
Screech!
"Be careful!"
A sudden brake sound tore through the long street, causing passersby to turn their heads.
A beautiful woman was seen being knocked down in the middle of the road to save a young boy.
"Honey, are you hurt?"
Jennifer, disregarding her pain, lowered her head to look at the boy in her arms with worry.
She was Jennifer who was rescued five years ago after being thrown into the mountains by Jessica.
Today, she just returned to the country to find the children abandoned by Jessica and retrieve everything that belonged to her.
Just happened to encounter this little boy who almost had a car accident.
Perhaps because she had been pregnant before, she instinctively rushed over, not wanting the child to get hurt.
At this moment, the boy was looking at Jennifer, his eyes blinking seriously.
After a while, he shook his head and said, "No."
Hearing his sweet voice, Jennifer relaxed and said, "That's good."
However, her eyes remained on the boy.
The boy in front of her was handsome, like a little angel being by the side of God, just thinner than children of the same age.
Jennifer felt heartache and care, speaking out, "You are too thin, and you should eat more, okay?"
As she spoke, she couldn't help but rub the little guy's face.
So adorable.
Feeling her movements, the little guy trembled, and his eyes instantly widened.
Just now, his body seemed to have been touched by an electric shock, feeling tingling all over, a sensation he had never felt before, and it was so magical.
After calming down for a while, the boy blinked his eyes, indicating that he understood.
"So cute."
Jennifer smiled even more gently, feeling her heart about to be filled, she picked up the little boy and asked, "Do you know where your family is? I'll take you to find them."
Not being able to see the child, the family must be so worried.
But as soon as the boy heard Jennifer say she would take him to find his family, he immediately hugged her neck tightly with both hands, pressing his entire body closer to her.
Jennifer thought he was just scared a moment ago and didn't think too much, gently patting the boy to comfort him.
Just as she turned around, she caught a glimpse of a figure approaching with an oppressive aura.
Without hesitation, Jennifer subtly shielded the child with her body.
She saw a man who looked like a celestial being and had the demeanor of a king walking towards her.
The man exuded a natural aura of oppression, making people look up to him.
However, his appearance was strikingly similar to the little boy in her arms.
He was stunning and awe-inspiring.
Jennifer tried to maintain a steady tone, "Are you the child's father?"
The man's voice was low and expressionless, as he simply said these words, "I’m Michael Whitfield."
Michael? Jennifer instinctively took a step back in panic.
Michael was the top CEO of Fobton, with extraordinary abilities. He was a man of unparalleled talents and could only be admired from afar.
Rumor had it that he refrained from worldly pleasures and women, but strangely, he had a child whose mother was unknown.
So, she had saved Michael's child?
"Did you hit him?"
Jennifer was shocked in her heart, and then she heard Michael's cold voice.
At this moment, Michael stood indifferently in front of her, his gaze carrying a cold that seemed to pierce through her heart, and his strong aura made the surrounding temperature drop slightly.
Jennifer was nervous, quickly gesturing to explain, "Just now, the boy was almost hit by a car, and I happened to pass by and save him. Please take him for a thorough check to ensure everything is fine."
Finally, she tried to ease the atmosphere with an awkward smile, but she still held the little boy tightly in her hands.
She was reluctant to let go, even though the man in front of her was the child's biological father.
"You're overthinking."
Michael still remained cold and expressionless like an ice sculpture. His gaze finally fell on the little child, his brows furrowing, "Are you getting bolder? Go back!"
The little boy trembled under his harsh tone and hurriedly clung to Jennifer's neck again.
Jennifer felt a twinge in her heart, and with courage, she met Michael's gaze and said, "Mr. Whitfield, he was just scared, and you didn't comfort him. How can you scold him?"
She knew she had no right to accuse Michael, but she couldn't stand to see the boy being wronged.
"Are you teaching me how to do things?"
Michael was angry, finally taking a serious look at Jennifer.
Her features were lively and ethereal, with a mix of purity and allure. Having seen countless beauties, this woman before him was truly different.
However, trying to catch his attention in this way seemed rather ignorant.
Michael sarcastically remarked, "This car accident should indeed be investigated, or else some people may take advantage of it."
"Do you suspect that I did it on purpose?"
Jennifer was surprised that the highly renowned CEO Michael could misunderstand her like this, her tone slightly unfriendly, "I kindly saved your child, and how can you think so poorly of me?"
Despite Jennifer's anger, there was no change in Michael's expression. He simply added a warning in his voice, "Put away thoughts you shouldn't have, understand?"
"It's truly unreasonable." Jennifer was infuriated by his rudeness.
Did he always think this way about other people?
Did he have paranoid delusions?
"You're holding onto my child without letting go, and is it not for another purpose?" Michael's voice was extremely calm, yet it carried a chilling danger.
