Chapter 25 Kidnapped
I blinked slowly, feeling my head pounding so loudly I thought I might die at any moment. I frowned and sat up slowly, but the headache became worse. I stared at the strange environment, but I couldn’t understand anything.
The room was small and old. The walls looked like they had been painted a million years ago. The room looked old-fashioned and smelled strange, like animal blood, and I coughed as the toxic scent burned through my nostrils.
Then slowly, I began recalling everything that had happened.
Candice!
The sudden attack—and my eyes widened.
Where the fuck am I?
My ears started picking up whispers—no, not voices… music! A group of people were singing!
What was happening?
I gazed around the room again, and this time my chest slowly tightened out of fear.
I was kidnapped!
And where did they bring me?
My eyes drifted to the ceiling, and I saw an animal, dried and hung up, and I almost threw up.
The singing was getting louder, and it sounded like an incantation.
An incantation?
The only beings that chant incantations are witches!
What am I doing in a witches’ zone?
I instantly stood up and was about to run out when I felt a force pull me back, making me stagger on my feet. I turned to see what it was—and saw that it was a chain.
A chain?
I was chained to the bed? Not just one arm—both my hands.
Then I felt chills all over my body. My lungs felt useless at that moment because I couldn’t breathe properly.
I tried to break free with all my strength, but it felt useless. Instead, my skin hurt more with every struggle.
Then someone flashed through my mind, making me stop struggling instantly.
Candice!
We were both together before the incident happened. Where is he? I hope they didn’t do anything harmful to him.
What if they killed him?
My heart squeezed painfully at the thought.
“No! It can’t happen!” I muttered, returning to trying to break free from the chain.
“He’s an Alpha. They can’t possibly do anything to him, right?” I thought, but at this point, my fear was growing deeper.
I tried for minutes to break the chain, but nothing seemed to work.
If anything happens to Candice, I won’t forgive myself. I forced him to come.
If I hadn’t told him I needed fresh air, we wouldn’t have been in this position.
I just hate myself right now!
I kept trying and trying, but to no avail. Instead, I let out a hiss as the chain cut deeper into my flesh, bleeding slightly.
I burst into tears and screamed my lungs out before I could stop myself.
“Why am I here? Somebody save me!” I screamed so loudly it could shake whatever house I was in.
I kept screaming and screaming until my throat started hurting.
Suddenly, I heard a clicking sound, and my head snapped toward the door. I realized someone was trying to open it. I tried to stand up again, but the chain pulled me back.
Then slowly, the door creaked open, and my breath hitched at the sight of the person in front of me.
A woman dressed in a long black cloak stood at the doorway—tall and terrifying—entering the room with a deadly, dreadful presence.
My eyes dropped to her nails. They were long and painted black. The scent from them reached my nose, and I took a sharp breath, realizing—it was blood.
Her fingers were adorned with black rings.
Not only that, her lips were painted black too—and they also seemed like blood.
I won’t lie—I was shivering.
She carried the strong aura of a powerful witch, and what terrified me most was how old she might be.
She looked—and smelled—so powerful.
Immediately, I prepared myself defensively, but judging from the way she stared at me, she didn’t look like someone who was about to harm me.
Instead… she was looking at me with so much care.
And for a moment, I was confused.
What’s happening?
Slowly, she walked toward me, maintaining eye contact, and I felt even more confused.
She came close—too close—and was about to touch my face, but I pulled back.
Shocked.
Why is she trying to touch me? Witches aren’t friendly… unless you are something very important to them.
The lady paused, then stepped back slightly and smiled.
And to be honest—it was terrifying.
“I can see you are awake,” she said after a long silence.
“Where am I? Who are you? What am I doing here? Please—I need answers,” I said, my voice rising in panic.
She pressed her lips together and sighed.
“Please, dear, calm down. It’s bad for your health to shout. Soon, you will find out. Just be patient,” she said calmly.
And honestly, my fear only deepened.
What is she talking about?
Then my mind returned to Candice.
“Where’s Candice? Where’s the Alpha you kidnapped along with me?” I asked, my body shaking with fear. I hoped nothing had happened to him.
“Calm down. Candice is fine and alive. You don’t need to worry. And stop being scared,” she said softly.
I was confused by how kind she was being to me.
“Why are you so nice to me? What do you want? And why did you kidnap me?”
She stared at me for a while, then acted as if she hadn’t heard anything I said and turned to leave.
Locking the door behind her.
Seeing that, I felt my hope shatter—completely broken.
I wanted to see Candice. I needed to know where I was.
None of this made sense.
Minutes later, the music started again.
An incantation.
Like they were trying to invoke some spirit.
And I won’t lie—I couldn’t help but panic even more about Candice.
I hope they haven’t done something bad to him.
I was restless for hours as they kept chanting the incantation.
No one came.
There was nowhere to run.
The room was sealed.
And I was chained to the bed.
I knew that by now, everyone in Candice’s pack must
have noticed we were gone… maybe they even thought we had eloped.
Moon Goddess, help me.
I snapped my head toward the door as I heard footsteps approaching.
