Chapter 55
Rosalie's POV
I woke up feeling weak all over my body, and I have to admit that Cameron is really wide in bed-no one should compete with him. At the same time, I really enjoyed it, just as he promised.
It didn't hurt like the one we had at his second house, and I thought I was in heaven until I reached my peak.
A smile was playing on my lips at the thought of it, and I couldn't believe I was the one urging him to go harder. He's been so gentle with me, and I know it's because he doesn't want to hurt me again. But I loved his roughness last night, and I don't mind how he took away all my strength. Now, I'm weak this morning, but I love it so much.
Cameron was still sleeping, his arm wrapped around my waist, and I couldn't help but gaze at his irresistibly handsome face. This is the best opportunity to admire him, and I could easily spend the entire day lost in his face. The thought that I wouldn't see him for a while made me cherish this moment even more.
I rested my head on my palm, a smile spreading across my face as I continued to watch him, unable to look away. But I couldn't help but scoff when I noticed his tousled hair.
I really did justice to his hair last night, and I can still remember how I pulled at it when I was lost in pleasure while he was kissing me passionately. Clearly, last night was unforgettable, and I can't stop thinking about it.
"Am I so handsome that you can't take your eyes off me?" Cameron suddenly mumbled, a teasing glint in his eyes.
He opened his eyes, a knowing smirk on his face, and our gazes locked.
"Oh no!" I mumbled, realizing he must have been awake the whole time.
"I understand-I'm handsome, so I know it won't be easy for you to look away," Cameron said with a sarcastic smile, and I couldn't help but feel my face turn deep red.
"Did you just wake up, or have you been awake for a while?" I asked, hoping to gauge whether I should be embarrassed. I was clearly staring at him with a smile on my face, and I knew I must have looked like a fool doing it.
"I woke up before you and decided to let you sleep a little longer because, let's be honest, I definitely used up all your energy last night. I knew you must be exhausted," Cameron said, winking at me. His playful gesture made me feel even more shy and embarrassed.
I quickly hid my face against his chest. "Oh my goodness, what did I just do?" I thought, and then I heard Cameron chuckle. We stayed like that for a few minutes, neither of us saying a word, until Cameron began to get up from the bed.
I assumed he was heading to the bathroom and thought I could use that moment to shake off my embarrassment. But I was surprised when Cameron suddenly lifted me off the bed.
"What are you doing?" I asked as Cameron maintained a straight face, focused on where he was carrying me.
"We're going to bathe together, and..." Cameron began, and that's when I realized he was heading toward the bathroom.
"Maybe we can have another round," he added, and I gasped in surprise, a mischievous smile spreading across his lips.
"What the hell!"
•••
Athena was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. Since the club had burned down, she had taken her part-time jobs seriously, leaving her with little time to rest. Instead of taking a break, she preferred to pick up another part-time job, determined to earn the same amount she had when she was still working at the club.
That's why she was working double the hours she had at the club. It had been incredibly challenging for her, but she felt she had no choice. However, today she received unexpected leave from her part-time job, where she was supposed to be right now. She had no idea why, but she found out about it just that morning.
She decided to use the two hours to rest before heading to her other part-time job. However, she noticed that something was happening between Carter and Gabriella, even though Carter hadn't come out of his room since last night. He had returned home with a tear-streaked, sad expression and hadn't said a word to her, which left her feeling worried sick and it had been weighing on her mind since last night.
Today is the day the Smith family will finally confess to everything they have done in court and face sentencing. Gabriella left early, and Athena confirmed that something was definitely happening; she knew Carter would have followed Gabriella if nothing was amiss.
"I don't even like that girl in the first place, and now she's making my Carter sad. What an ungrateful fool! After everything he did for her, she still has the nerve to stay here. What a shameless girl," Athena mumbled, irritation etched on her face as the memory of Gabriella walking out on her last night replayed in her mind.
"She's rude and getting bold. I let her stay in my house, and she walked out on me. She's really going to hear from me," Athena said, refusing to let it go.
After finishing preparing breakfast, she made it just for Carter. She decided to use her two free hours to make sure he ate, especially since he hadn't eaten anything since last night. If she didn't ensure he had something before leaving for work, she knew she would only end up worrying.
Once she finished serving the meal, Athena headed out of the kitchen and made her way upstairs to Carter's room.
She tried to open the door without knocking, but it was locked from the inside, prompting a sigh of frustration.
After knocking for a while without receiving a response, she decided to call out his name.
She wondered what could have happened between them that left Carter hurting while Gabriella seemed perfectly happy. Regardless, she was determined to find out today and ensure that Carter wouldn't harm himself because of that foolish girl.
"Carter, open this door!" Athena called out loudly, but he remained silent, not even acknowledging her presence. Frustrated, she sighed.
She didn't expect Carter to open the door easily, and now she was at a loss for how to get him to let her in.
She was still standing by the door, lost in thought when it began to crack open. Her heart leaped with joy as she waited for Carter to open it fully.
As soon as Carter swung the door wide, he spotted Athena still standing there and thought of closing it back, but she quickly stepped into the doorway, blocking it. With no other option, Carter released the door and retreated to his room, sitting at the edge of his bed.
His face was so red, sadness etched all over it. "If you're here to force me to eat, you might as well not bother, because I won't eat it," he said defiantly.
Athena scoffed as she set the meal down on the table and then returned to sit beside Carter on the bed. "Not after I spent hours making this for you."
"But I never asked for it! I didn't say I was hungry!" Carter spat, his frustration aimed squarely at Athena, leaving her gasping in shock.
