Our anniversary as a mate, Alpha, and Luna.

Serena's POV

I stood on the balcony of our room at the new packhouse, Kane my mate, just completed. Staring at how far our territory had extended, a once small territory that wasn't known is now as popular as other Territory like Alpha Keith's territory, although it's still not as big as the Alpha King territory it's no longer as small as when I first met him, when I was deceived by his uncle.

Was I deceived or was me and father been greedy wanting power and riches and the only way we could think of having all these things was through alpha Keith, it wasn't my thing to be evil but greed had no place with good. Greed and evil always go side by side. We lost a lot of things, I lost a lot of things, I lost a mate and my peace of mind but I am still here, picking the piece of me and starting a new life with my second chance mate and our kids, one, I had with my first mate and the second with my second chance mate. I was still in my thoughts when an arm wrapped around my waist and his chin buried in the nook of my neck, I didn't the goddess to tell me who the scent Belinda to.

I let my back rest on his bare chest, embracing all the comfort that it brings. "what is my little mate thinking?" Kane, my mate, his soft voice filled my ear, his breath fanning my neck as he nibbled my ear.

"Just been grateful to the goddess for you, for Jonah and our little pumpkin Jasmin," I answer without battering my lashes while tilting my head to him, to feel his lips against my neck.

"Happy anniversary my Luna." He greeted me with a husky voice as his fangs greased my neck skin, I knew he wanted to mark me again, for some reason, best known to this naughty mate of mine, on every anniversary of ours, he loves to stake his claim on me.

Knowing what he wanted to do, I rest into his arms, and let his fangs find their way into the skin of my neck.

"Ahh..." I whimpered and moaned at the same time, I was already too aroused to even think of foreplay.

Twelve years after our union, nothing changed, I still found myself aroused whenever we came in contact and worse of it, when his fangs were buried in my neck. I knew it wouldn't take long before my knees buckled and I begged for his touch and his pleasure.

Today, marked it twelve years since I realized the goddess had given me a second chance mate, something I never thought would happen.

The horrible one, one who had let her selfishness take the life of her mate, one who planned on killing someone else to keep my secret safe, yet the goddess was merciful, she had blessed me in so many ways that I don't think I deserve, especially my second chance mate.

Our pups, Jonah and Jasmin, the first I had with my fated mate and the second I had with my second chance mate, the male that is more than just a mate to me, but a father to my thirteen-year-old son, Jonah. Kane, came into my life when I had no idea how to be a father and a mother to my boy, he was a double blessing for me. The day I gave birth was the day I found him as my second chance mate.

I could still remember how his scent filled my nostrils when he walked into the ward, telling me that Luna Zara asked him to bring fruits for me. The goddess sure knows how to forgive and even forget how awful a person could be.

Our pups are right now in the territory of Alpha King Keith and his mate, Zara. How funny things could be, making friends with the people we both wanted their mate. I wanted Keith while my mate wanted Zara. The same person I had set Zara up with wanting to blackmail Zara, here he is in my arms, wrapping me like I was the most delicate thing in the world.

"I love you, Serena." He whispered as he cleaned the blood from my neck as a result of his bite.

I turned my body around as his eyes dilated, and they were focused on my chest. I was wearing those sheer gowns having a low-cut neck, exposing my cleavages. My hand snaked around his neck, sniffing my laughter, knowing my wear was affecting him. "And I love you too."

"Are you happy being with me? Happy that I am your second chance mate? Did I make you happy for these twelve years?" My lips curved into a lopsided grin.

I watch his eyes staring at mine, as they search my deep soul.

Through all the years, never for once did I feel unhappy around him. He was the perfect mate for me.

We have gone through a lot, at my lowest point he was there, and never for once did he make me feel unloved, he was the best mate, I could ever ask for.

"Happy? Was that even a question? You always do and you will always do." His eyes could convey so much information at a time and his emotions were not something he could hide from me.

I could read him like a book, just as he could read me like one, they were no secret and I am glad this one person was the one the goddess fated to me. She gave me a chance to know the meaning of the word, fated mate.

Back then, the notion I had about fated mates was wrong. I always felt the male partner must take all the blame for their female partner but with this second chance, I knew we are supposed to look out for one another.

Mates are not supposed to be selfish, "thank you for accepting me as your mate, I don't know how I would have survived if I hadn't found you, watching everyone with a mate beside them was the hardest thing I had been doing all my life."

"Shush... The goddess knows how miserable I would have turned out if you didn't accepted me as your second chance mate, I did not deserve a mate and yet the goddess gave me one, not a cruel mate but someone that could love me and give me joy every day of my life. You made me who I am today, I lost my pack, my father, and my fated mate but you came and gave me all, because of you, I became a Luna, something my father had told me, he would never give to me and then a mate and best friend I didn't see coming. Someone who got my back anytime."

"You and me, I will always be yours."

"And I will always be yours." His lips smashed against mine, making the last words die down my throat before he groaned between our lips.
