Isla’s POV

“What?” I blinked several times, wondering if I had heard my friend correctly.

“Yes. Luna, Alpha. She claims to have important information.” Sasha explained. “She seems genuine, and we should see what she has to say.”

I turned to Aaron, who gave a slight nod of agreement.

“Yes. Let's check this out,” he said.

“I am coming.” I insisted before he could order me to stay here. “Sasha, wait here.”

As we reached the border, I saw a figure standing just beyond the line. It was a woman, her posture rigid and confident. I could sense the power emanating from her, and it only fueled my curiosity.

“Hello there,” Aaron called out. I could sense his uncertainty.

Approaching cautiously, I spoke, "Who are you, and how do you know about Carrie? What is it you want from us?”

The woman gave me a small smile before replying, "Luna Isla. Alpha Aaron. Good to see you both. My name is Celeste, and I have been closely monitoring your situation. You see, I have connections with those well-versed in the dark arts. They shared some valuable information with me."

Eager to hear more, I motioned for her to continue. Celeste's eyes darted around, ensuring no one else was within earshot before she spoke again.

"It appears that Mrs. Jenkins had made a deal with a powerful warlock to gain control over your estate and manipulate those around you. However, their plan was thwarted when they discovered Carrie's potential. They feared she could threaten their power, so they tried eliminating her. But she managed to escape and was found by your pack," Celeste revealed, her voice filled with concern and determination.

My heart pounded in my chest as the gravity of the situation sank in. I could feel Cleo surfacing, not liking these words. Our suspicions had been confirmed. Mrs. Jenkins was not only after our territory but also sought to control Carrie's powers for her nefarious purposes. But we weren't going to let her succeed. It hurt my head to think that even though she was locked away, she was still causing problems.

"What can we do to stop Mrs Jenkins's sidekicks and protect Carrie?" Aaron's voice interrupted my thoughts.

He touched my back as if soothing my negative thoughts away.

Celeste's eyes sparkled as she nodded, understanding our pain and frustrations.

"There is a prophecy, passed down through generations, that speaks of someone with immense power who will rise against the forces of darkness. I believe Carrie is that someone. We need to awaken her true potential and help her harness her abilities. Only then can she face Mrs. Jenkins and end this threat."

A surge of determination coursed through me as I looked at Aaron and then back at Celeste. "We will do whatever it takes to protect Carrie and bring justice to those who seek to harm our family. Please, Celeste, guide us in awakening her powers."

Celeste nodded, her expression filled with a sense of purpose. "I will do everything in my power to help you. Together, we will prepare Carrie for the battle that lies ahead."

"How can we be certain of your trustworthiness?" Aaron's voice brimmed with caution and scepticism as he posed the question to Celeste.

Celeste's eyes softened, her expression conveying sincerity and a tinge of sadness. "I understand your concern. Trust is not easily earned, especially in circumstances as scary as these. However, I am bound by an oath to protect those with extraordinary abilities and to keep them safe from those who seek to exploit their powers."

She paused, allowing her words to sink in before continuing. "I have dedicated my life to battling the forces of darkness, assisting individuals like Carrie in understanding and harnessing their innate potential. My loyalty lies not with personal gain or ulterior motives but with ensuring the safety and wellbeing of individuals like her."

Her voice grew firmer, filled with the conviction of her words. "I offer you my commitment to safeguard Carrie and guide her along the path foretold in the ancient prophecy. My intentions are pure, and my allegiance lies with the forces of good."

“She is genuine. She's telling the truth. I can feel her honesty. She brings only goodness for Carrie.”

My wolf suddenly sounded, and I immediately knew she was right. Cleo had been quiet lately, but this Celeste seemed to have a certain vibe about her that awakened my Wolf. I was curious about this female.

My curiosity piqued, and I felt compelled to ask the question lingering within me. "What are you?" I inquired, both intrigued and astounded by the extraordinary presence Celeste emanated.

Her voice, filled with a quiet strength, carried a hint of mystery as she replied, "I am a guardian, born with a connection to the ancient forces that shape our world. I aim to protect those who possess extraordinary gifts and ensure their potential is nurtured rather than exploited."

I turned my gaze towards Aaron. “Aaron," I whispered through our private mind link, my voice tinged with hesitation and hope. "I truly believe we can trust her. Cleo, my wolf, senses the authenticity in this woman. I've learned to rely on her instincts, and they tell me she is genuine."

My words hung in the air, momentarily suspended as I waited for Aaron's response. The weight of the decision we were about to make, the fate of our pack resting in our hands, felt almost unbearable. But I knew deep down that we had to take this leap of faith. For Carrie's sake. For our family's sake.

I glanced at Aaron, searching his eyes for any sign of uncertainty. It was in moments like these that the strength of our bond shone through, our connection stronger than ever.

Aaron's gaze met mine, his eyes reflecting a mix of caution and consideration. "I trust you, Isla," he finally murmured, “And I trust Cleo. If she senses that Celeste is genuine, then maybe it's time we do too.”
