Chapter 41

Porter smiled as he finished the song and walked straight to Janine who’s still in awe of everything that’s happening.

It’s complete. He’s finally complete.

“Come again?” He asked as he held her arms, in disbelief of what she just said. He, too, is in awe of everything.

Janine looked into his eyes and smiled sweetly. “Yes, Porter. I’m going to marry you.” She repeated.

Porter smiled and pulled her in for a kiss. He didn’t want to kiss her in front of her parents but his urges are killing him. He wants her lips. He wants to own her. If possible, he wants to take her. If only he could do that now.

“I love you, you know that, right?” He asked her as he connected their foreheads. “I’m going to tell you how much I love from this day forward.”

Janine smiled and hugged him tight. Everything was worth it. All the pain, all the sacrifices, everything. Porter is everything to her now. He has become her world now.

“I love you, too.” She spoke softly.

Porter nodded and went down on one bended knee.

Janine’s eyes widened upon seeing the sight. He’s going to…

“I know the folders have been unveiled and you already agreed.” Porter started. “But I can’t let this moment pass without doing it the generic way.” He took something out of his pocket.

Janine’s eyes widened when Porter opened the box of the ring in front of him. It was simple but elegant. Just her type, although the ring is not necessary. She was going to marry him no matter what happens anyway.

“Will you be my wife?” Porter asked as he looked up and met her gaze.

Janine’s eyes started to water again. Damn, how was it possible for her to stay calm in the middle of all this? Her hearts about to leap out of her chest and she could barely hear anything because of her beating heart.

“I promise to never hurt you. But if I do, I swear I would console you in the best way I can for you to never leave me.” The speech began. “I promise to always be there for you, be everywhere and anywhere with you. I will answer to all your whims and demands without complaining because it’s always my pleasure to make you happy. I will never leave your side. I will be there for and with you all the time. All the damn time, Baby. And lastly, I’ll do the sacrificing. You don’t need to do anything for me. Just be there and I’d be complete.” He smiled.

Janine’s tears fell from her eyes and started to cry upon hearing his words. All hell will break loose if she won’t end up with Porter. It may seem a bit fast that she’s very sure of what she’s feeling right now, but how can she stop herself from wanting to be with him for the rest of her life when he’s all that she needs?

“Will you be my Mrs. Kim, Janine Kwon? Will you be the only woman I would love for the rest of my life?” He asked again.

Janine wiped her tears from her cheeks and nodded. “I will. I’m going to be. Yes. Let’s get married.” None of her words made sense but she’s happy. She’s happy that she’s going to spend the rest of her life with someone who loves her so much.

Porter slid the ring on her finger and stood up to give Janine the sweetest kiss he could offer. He’s more than happy. He’s happy that Janine’s with him but he’s happier now that she said yes to him. She’s going to be with him. She’s going to spend the rest of her life with him.

“Thank you.” Porter said in a soft voice. “Thank you for keeping up with me.”

Janine shook her head. “No, thank you. Thank you for not giving up on me.” She told him as she cupped his cheeks. “You’re the only man I would ever love with this intensity.”

“I intensely love you, too.” Porter said as he planted a kiss on her forehead. He looked at Mr. and Mrs. Kwon who were also in tears after everything that happened.

He knows that it’s going to be hard for them to let their only daughter go and marry someone because is he is in their position, he would always want his daughter to be with them forever.

“Sir, Ma’am…” His voice trailed. “I promise to always make your daughter happy. I won’t stop her from spending time with you. I won’t jail her in my arms. I swear I won’t.”

Mr. Kwon nodded and hugged Janine tight. Mrs. Kwon joined in, too. “Finally, Janine. Finally, you’ve met the man who will least likely hurt you.” Mr. Kwon spoke. “I will always be watching you.” He joked and Janine laughed.

Mr. Kwon let go of Janine and turned to L. “You better take care of my daughter, Porter.” He told him.

L nodded. “Always, Sir.” He replied.

“Dad.” Mr. Kwon corrected. “You can call me Dad now. Drop the sir. I’m not a professor.” He kidded.

Porter smiled and bit his lip, overwhelmed by the acceptance from the Kwons. “Yes, Dad.” He replied and Mr. Kwon tapped his shoulder.

Janine looked at him and smiled. “It’s official.” She beamed. “I’m going to marry you soon.” She chuckled.

Porter nodded and wrapped his arm around her waist. “Let’s not waste time now, then.” He began. “Let’s visit the house I am building for us.” He continued.

Janine looked at him. “It’s not done yet, right?” She asked.

Porter nodded. “See after two to three weeks and our house is done.” He replied. “You want to get married in two to three weeks?” He raised his brow.

Janine narrowed her eyes at him. “Are you in a rush?” She asked.

Porter chuckled. “I am always in a rush to be with you.” He replied and kissed her cheek.

Janine reddened. “You’re such a sweet talker.” She beamed.

“Only for you, Baby.”

Janine smiled at him and held his hand. “Then, can we visit our house?” She asked.

Porter smiled back and nodded. “Of course. Everything for you.” He replied as he led her out of the house after asking for Janine’s parents’ permission to leave for a while.

Mr. Kwon permitted them to use the car parked on the garage, so they would not worry about going back.

Porter opened the door and asked Janine to get in before rushing over the driver’s seat. “I really have to ship my car.” He muttered as he revved the engine to life.

Janine looked at him. “Then what are you going to use when you go to Seoul?” She asked.

Porter looked at her. “How many times do I have to tell you that I will be where you are? You want to stay in Busan? I’ll stay here with you. No questions needed, Janine.”

Janine chuckled upon hearing his remark. “You whine like a kid. I was just asking.” She teased.

Porter pouted. “I wouldn’t whine if you don’t keep on asking those questions.” He remarked.

Janine laughed at how cute he looks and didn’t dare to reply.

Porter stopped the car at a huge lot with a huge mansion.

Janine’s eyes widened at the house that’s almost finished. It was not a house, alright. It’s as big as River Oh’s mansion, if she could remember it right. She looked at Porter with a questioning look.

“That…is our house.” He trailed.

Janine’s jaw dropped. She was not expecting a huge house from Porter. All she ever wanted was to live with him and she’d be complete. A huge house was not necessary.

“What?” Porter blinked.

“Where’d you get all your money for this?” She asked.

Porter smiled. “I have my funds, Janine. Don’t insult me with those questions, alright?” he replied as he unbuckled her seatbelt. “Come on. They’re just going to finish the interior then we can already live here.” He told her.

Janine nodded and walked out of the car.

Porter wrapped his arm around her waist and led her inside the house.

Janine looked around. “Are the workers on a day off?” She asked.

Porter nodded. “But we can go inside.” He assured as he took out a key from his pocket and unlocked the door.

The doors were opened and Janine’s eyes widened. The floor was covered with red carpet. The living room was done and just needed appliances to get officially done. There was also a local bar that’s still unfinished.

The dining area is almost done. The lavatory is installed and the cabinets are all in place.

“Do you like it?” Porter whispered.

Janine smiled but was still in awe, although she nodded. “I don’t even know…”

“You don’t have to know, Baby. I built this as a surprise for you.” Porter kissed her neck and pulled her close to him.

Janine looked at Porter who’s staring at her with a serious expression. “W-what?” She asked as her heart started to beat fast. Her breathing is getting heavier by the minute.

Porter smirked. “You said we could kiss, right?” He asked.

Janine’s eyes widened. Now she knew why Porter wanted to go here. Now she knew.

“But—”

But before she could even protest, Porter’s lips were already owning her. Well, he owns her and it just became official.
