Chapter 28

Porter was busy playing with Janine’s hair as they cuddled on the couch.

Janine was so relieved that Henney wasn’t around. Or else, she would have told her to break up with Johann right here right now.

Sure, Henney was all for her happiness but she’s not amenable to cheating. She won’t side with Janine on this. Not when Janine holds her fate on this relationship.

“I love you.” Porter whispered making Janine ticklish. He chuckled. “And I’ll love you even more.” He added making Janine chuckle.

She gave him a look as she tried her hardest to impose a poker face.

“What?” Porter asked but was smiling from ear-to-ear and seeing that makes Janine smile as well. Porter chuckled. “What’s wrong with telling you that I love you?” He asked.

Janine narrowed her eyes on him. “Nothing!” She beamed. Perhaps, she’s accepting her fate. She had to choose, eventually. She knows that. But right now, she has to know who to choose. She has to give herself time to choose between the two.

Is she falling for Porter? Or is this just a phase?

Is she falling out of love from Johann? Or is this just a phase?

Everything is blurry in Janine’s mind and she has to know the answers. She has to clear it. She has to feel something more for one and less for one.

Thus, she has to give them both a chance, right?

Porter smiled at her. “You’re the most adorable girl I have ever met in my whole life.” He told her. “Even though you’re the fiercest as well.” He chuckled.

Janine narrowed her eyes on him.

Porter blinked. “What?” He asked as he hugged her. “But even though, you’re still the only girl I would ever love.” He whispered to her as he planted a kiss on her forehead.

Janine smiled. This is her feeling with L. She knows it’s wrong but it feels so good. It feels so surreal.

“Would you go on a date with me tomorrow?” He asked her and Janine gave him a look.

“A date?” She asked again.

Porter nodded with a wide smile. “Let me tell you how Porter Kim makes girls fall for him.” He told her. “But then, in your case, it’s going to be extra special.” He winked at her.

Suddenly, Janine felt excited.

Let’s be real now.

Janine likes Porter. She’s attracted to him. Whether she likes it or not, her heart is beating really fast when he’s there. Her heart is longing for him when he’s away.

She’s definitely feeling something for him.

But what she’s not definite of is that if she loved him more than she had ever loved Johann. Damn. Johann was the only man in her life before L came. How could she even compare her love for the two?

“Let’s go, Baby?” Porter asked her as he reached for her hand while riding the elevator.

It was a good thing that Johann is out of town for some business proposals. He’s been tasked to handle minor matters as he enjoys his Christmas vacation in Korea. He didn’t want to but it was the only way so he could come back to Janine…who’s going on a date with Porter today.

“Where are we going?” Janine asked L as they reached his Camaro.

Porter opened the door on the passenger’s side and assisted Janine to get in. “You’ll see later, baby.” He beamed as he planted a swift kiss on her cheek.

Janine immediately blushed as his sudden gesture. Is it just her or is Porter extra sweet today?

Sure she knows that he’s serious with every word he told her last night but she doesn’t expect anything right now. She just wanted to have the most normal time with L and see if he heart could handle it.

Porter came to the driver’s seat and smiled at her. “Are you ready, Baby?” He asked.

Janine smiled and nodded. “Wherever you take me.” She replied.

Porter chuckled and revved the engine. Going to where the date of his life is going to happen.

--

“Photo museum?” Janine asked as they arrived at the front of the biggest photo museum in the whole Korea.

Porter smiled and nodded as he helped her unbuckle her seatbelt. “I love taking pictures, Janine. Now, I’m telling you more of me. I want you to know me as Porter Kim not just your cocky and handsome supervisor.” He winked.

Janine scoffed. “You sure are cocky, Porter Kim.” She told him and he just chuckled.

“Only for you, baby.” He beamed as he assisted her down the car.

He immediately wrapped his arm around her waist as he gave the car keys to the valet.

They went inside the museum with big smiles on their faces. Hell, this is the day that could make him get the upper hand. Porter’s never going to waste this opportunity.

Janine was awed as they entered the museum. They weren’t joking when they said that this museum is one of the best museums in Korea. To Janine, this is way beyond the best.

She looked around and saw the unique photos taken by famous photographers. Unique and simple. Some are elegant and abstract. But Janine loved the candid shots of the common people walking on the streets.

“This is good.” She said as she pointed at the photo taken in Myungdeong on a rainy morning. People were on their umbrellas and it showed how the rain was pouring down the street and on the umbrellas. “It’s simple but it conveys a different meaning.”

Porter smiled. “Yes. It looks good.” He beamed as he watched Janine admire the photography.

They walked and looked around for more photos.

Janine was amazed at how photographs could be this amazing. She only knew that photographs are captured memories. They could bring back some memories that somehow were forgotten.

But this. This exhibit is one of the bests.

“This is amazing.” Janine beamed at Porter who was smiling from ear to ear. He was really happy that Janine liked this date. At least she’s enjoying her time with him.

Janine suddenly laced her fingers with his and dragged him to the abstract photos.

Porter’s heart leaped when she held his hand without permission. But hell, it felt so good. This felt so good. It’s as if he’s the real boyfriend and they are a real couple.

Life never felt this good.

“Let’s take a picture,” he suggested as he brought his phone out. He regretted not bringing his favorite camera. But hey, his phone’s better than nothing.

He held her closer to him with his face touching hers as he snapped a couple picture.

Janine frowned. “Hey! I wasn’t smiling!” She complained because the happening came by too fast and before she knew it, the photo has been taken. She wasn’t prepared.

“You’re beautiful.” He told her. “This should get posted here or something.” He teased her and she hit his arm playfully.

Porter looked at her frowning at him and chuckled. “Alright, one more.” He said as her face lit up immediately.

“You count.” She ordered.

Porter smiled. “One, two, three. *click*”

Janine was shocked when L planted a kiss on her cheek. The picture shows her wide eyes as L was smiling while kissing her cheek.

“You cheater!” She beamed at him but he just laughed.

“Baby, you’re so adorable.” He told her. “Makes me want to keep you inside my pocket forever so no one could ever see you.”

Janine rolled her eyes at Porter and walked, leaving him behind.

Porter followed after her and held her hand. “Baby, don’t be mad please.” He tried to coo her.

Janine harrumphed and L smiled. “Don’t you dare act cutesy on me right now or I will kiss you on the lips.” He warned her and Janine immediately looked at him with a serious face. He smiled. “Better. I don’t want other people seeing you cute.” He spoke. “I couldn’t even stay calm with Johann as my only rival. I don’t want to have more.” He told her in a sweet way.

Janine looked him, biting her lip to prevent her from smiling. How can she not smile with all those sweet words from Porter?

He smiled at her. His dimples are showing and Janine couldn’t help but adore his perfect face. What has she ever done to make this one go head over heels for her to the point that he was willing to be her other man? It really just doesn’t make sense at all.

Well, nothing ever made sense with Janine these past few days anyway. She’s too preoccupied with her feelings for Porter and Johann and she couldn’t even think straight.

Porter looked at her as he held her shoulders. “Look, baby,” he started. “You’re the only one I see. No. You are ever going to be the only woman I would see from now on. Don’t you even forget about that, okay?” He asked her as he searched her eyes.

“And please, don’t act like it’s a bad thing to fall in love with me.” He finished making Janine smile.
