Chapter 461 Aiden
Chapter 461 Aiden
Rowan asked Leroy to pass a message to Milan: [She didn't want to meet him at the Runyon Mansion. If he wanted to see her, he would have to come back home while Courtney was at school.]
Leroy went to the Runyon Mansion to get Milan's opinion.
Before he could even see Milan, Simon and Bruno outright refused.
Simon, furious, said, "They may have had their issues in the past, and maybe Milan wronged her, but they've been married for over twenty years. Milan has always done whatever she wanted. Now, when he's sick, she expects him to drag himself back home to see her? How high and mighty does she think she is? Can't she come here to see him?"
Even the usually good-natured Bruno was angry. He told Leroy, "Send her a message. Tell her your father isn't coming back. If she really wants to see him, she should come here. She knows the way, and besides, they're still married. She's still part of the Runyon family, so it's her responsibility to come."
"Uncle Simon, Uncle Bruno," Leroy sighed, trying to reason with them. "I know you have issues with my stepmother, but this is something they both want. My father wants to see her, but she doesn't want to leave the house. If he's willing to go see her, why should we stop him and be the bad guys?"
"Leroy, your father can barely get out of bed. How can he handle the trip back and forth?" Simon said urgently.
Leroy replied, "That's exactly why I suggested asking him first. You both know better than I do how much he cares for her. If he doesn't have much time left, seeing her one last time might give him peace."
Bruno opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Simon. "Fine, Leroy's right. If he wants to go, we shouldn't stop him and leave him with regrets."
"Alright, go ask him and let him decide," Bruno agreed reluctantly after seeing Simon's approval.
When Leroy asked Milan, he agreed without hesitation.
Simon and Bruno were furious but had no choice but to arrange for him to be taken back.
Michael and Isabella were relieved they didn't have to go to the Runyon Mansion, avoiding the rest of the Runyon family, especially Patricia and Aria.
When Milan saw Rowan, she coldly reminded him, "Now that you've seen me, keep your promise to them."
Milan smiled bitterly. "I just got here and haven't even spoken to you. Do you have to be so heartless?"
"Keep your promise first. We can talk about everything else later," Rowan said coldly.
"Alright," Milan agreed.
He looked at Michael and Isabella and said slowly, "I remember that incident. I had a private room at that bar that wasn't open to the public. I usually went there on weekends. That Saturday, I went as usual, but before I could start drinking, I got a call saying Leroy's mother had fainted, so I went home. I don't know what happened after that."
"I remember that too," Leroy added. "My mom was sick that Saturday, and I was home. My dad came back, which he never did on weekends."
"So, you're saying that room was always reserved for you and not used by others?" Michael asked, catching the key point.
Milan nodded. "Yeah, but I only went there on Friday nights and weekends. The bar wouldn't dare use it during those times, but I can't be sure about other times. Maybe they rented it out to make extra money."
"What's the name of the bar? Who's the owner?" Michael asked.
"It's been closed for a long time. The owner was a friend of mine, but he just invested money and hired someone else to manage it. I think his last name was Taylor."
Isabella blurted out, "Was his name Aiden Taylor?"
"I never paid attention to his first name, just knew his last name was Taylor."
At this point, Milan started having trouble breathing. Leroy quickly brought over a portable oxygen tank to help him.
Milan glanced at Rowan, who showed no concern, and pulled the mask off his face.
Leroy was about to persuade him, but Milan said slowly and hoarsely, "It's fine. I'll be okay after a rest. I've said everything I needed to. Can you all leave so I can be alone with Gabriella?"
Rowan also said, "You all go. I'll stay with him."
Leroy nodded and left with Michael and Isabella.
Since hearing Milan's information, Isabella had been deep in thought, her brow furrowed.
Michael held her hand and comforted her, "Isabella, there are many people with the last name Taylor. It can't be him. He's from Silvercrest City. Why would he come all the way to Silvermist City to run a bar?"
"My grandmother told me," Isabella murmured, "that Aiden brought me back from Silvermist City. She said he worked at a restaurant here as a manager and met my mother there. Maybe the restaurant she mentioned was actually that bar."
That made sense.
Natalia was a celebrity. Even if she had a child in secret, she would want to find a father for the child. She chose Aiden because they already knew each other!
"Who is this Aiden? If he's still alive, you could ask him," Leroy suggested.
Michael cleared his throat and replied, "Aiden is Isabella's adoptive father, but he's gone mad and is in a mental hospital. We can't get any answers from him."
"Bring him to me. Maybe I can help him," Leroy said.
"You're a psychologist. Can you treat mental illness?" Michael asked, surprised.
Leroy was silent for a moment before explaining, "Mental health is my main field. Being a psychologist was just for Calista..."
Michael apologized and patted his shoulder, then called Terry to arrange for Aiden to be transferred to Silvermist City.
Handing Aiden over to Leroy might be their best chance. Terry didn't have any better options anyway.
After the call, Michael told Leroy, "We'll send Aiden's wife and daughter too. They caused his breakdown. Maybe you can use that."
