Chapter 43: Me ?

"You must really want me to scream" Diane stated when Ian did not budge.

Ian hissed.

"You don't seem to know what my screaming from your room would imply to the people in the villa" she added.

"Ahhhhhrrrggghh.." She screamed loudly and Ian forced his hands on her lips to stop her.

"I wish the paralysis had an effect on your Lip" he stated and she cursed underneath his fingers, her voice was muffled but he could hear it clearly, she had called him an asshole.

"I will divide the bed, you keep quiet for the rest of the night" he said as he reached for the pillows on his furniture and used them to create a partition on the bed.

"I can't sleep" she said a while after they had both settled down in bed.

"Then don't" he replied slightly annoyed.

"I can't sleep looking upwards could you tilt me to the side?" She asked.

"And go past my partition of the bed? No way" he replied.

"Just do it" she half pleaded.

"You didn't have a problem sleeping like that the past five days you were unconscious" he replied.

"I was unconscious for five days?" She asked and he nodded in reply.

She tried to shake but she could only make a tiny motion on the bed.

She grunted and breath out in anguish.

Ian had gotten tired of seeing her struggle before he tilted her to the side.

"Okay this is uncomfortable, I think I'll sleep facing forward" she said, she could feel his rage worsen but she was not concerned.

He tilted her back to her position.

"Could you bring my hands to my stomach?" She asked and he did it subconsciously, he was about to sleep when she said,

"The blankets"

He looked at her for a while before he picked up the bed cover and peeled it up her skin, they exchanged eye contacts for a second before Diane looks away.

She could feel the soothing air left from Ian's chuckle as he turned to the side of his bed, she hated herself for being as stupid as not checking which poison she laced herself with.

A lone rolled down her cheek with silent sniffles, Ian hears it but stays quiet until she falls asleep.

While she is asleep Ian trails his fingers on her face, wiping her tears then his fingers move from her eyebrows to her beautiful nose and finally to her lips, the softness of her pink lips soothes him and he bends over and kiss her, before turning away to sleep.

Diane squealed in excitement forcing Ian awake.

"What is it" Ian rubbed his eyes as he spoke sleepishly.

"My fingers" she muttered in a bid to suppress her excitement, Ian turned to face her fingers, they were moving.

"So?" He acted as if he hadn't noticed.

"I am not going to be a paralysed wolf for the rest of my life"

"One moving finger, not so much of a big deal"

"You cursed wolf" she murmurs.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing"

"You will be able to move your body again but it will take at least four months" A physician stated.

Diane tilted her head away from the physician's face trying to hide away her sulking face from the physician who seemed to had caught a glimpse of it "be glad" she retorted.

"Huh?"

"Many who were saved from the paralytic death always ended up as paralysed people, you are lucky to be able to walk again"

"In the span of four months every bad thing that could possibly happen would have happened"

"Isn't that good? You stand up to face the good things"

"Not when it could be averted"

"Not when you have the ability to stop it"

"Then pray, pray to the moon goddess earnestly, in the past she rose a vailant soldier out of the belly of her most reverend worshipper Luna.."

"Defitri" Diane cut in.

"Diane" The physician called out to Diane shock and surprise.

"How did you.."

"I said I have five time surprise for you didn't I?"

"Defitri?"

"We do not have time Diane"

"What is the Luna's surprise to me?"

"How is a walk into the past for an answer?"

"Huh?"

"You said you've read every story there is to me, now what do you say to living it?"

"How?"

"That's for me to know and for you to wonder" Defitri replied waving her hands over Diane's face, Diane fell into deep slumber, opening her eyes to a reality different from her's.

"Welcome to the first Evergreen pack" Defitri said in her own body.

Diane felt intrigued looking around the Evergreen pack, it was very different from the current one, she felt a sense of belonging to it.

Just them the she heard the clanking of swords right in front of her, a shiver ran down her spine, she looked around again, it was a battle ground.

"What the hell is going on here" Diane queried in shock.

"Fear not, the blades cannot harm you, you cannot be seen or heard" Defitri assured, walking through two clashing people as a form of reassurance to Diane. "We are like ghosts, only that one of us actually is, this is the past we are not in human form because an alteration to whatever happened here will cause a change in the future, this is nothing but a walk through" Defitri said, Diane tried it out by walking through a person.

"Wow"

"Right about now is my birth time, are you ready for a surprise?"

"Okay"

Defitri led Diane through the battle ground with most of the Evergreen epsilons dead.

"Evergreen was never the formidable pack in war, but if you would look over there you will see that .."Defitri said pointing at the leader of the opposing pack Epsilons.

"Luke?" Diane exclaimed in shock.

"No Alpha Lucas Rowley of the Red Moon pack" Defitri said.

Diane was in shock at what she was seeing.

"Are you ready?" Defitri asked

"There's more?"

"There's always more to every story"

Defitri took hold of Diane's hands and everywhere turned to night, Diane could see tents set up everywhere.

"You can do this, don't give up Dakota" The sounds emitted from one of the tents.

"Let's go in" Defitri said.

"And witness your birth?"

"And witness it" Defitri replied as they walked in.

The head of the mother was bent inside as the midwives held her legs apart.

"The head, we see the head" One announced and within a few seconds the child was born.

"It's a girl, and she has the mark of prophecy, a queen from the belly of the Omega, Dakota your daughter" They hailed emotionally.

"My child" That voice hit Diane hard in the face, she waited for Dakota to raise up from the bed with her throat in her tongue and once Dakota did, she felt her body give way.

"Me?"
