Ares was still in shock at Diane's confession, deep down he could not deny the fact that it was enough reason why she chose not to be with him, that day he had Ian completed the signing formalities with undue difficulties and Ares set off for his pack feeling defeated by Diane's mate who he had not the opportunity to meet.
"Are you satisfied?" Diane asked Ian who shamelessly nodded like a child who had won a competition without competing.
"Then where is Yvette?" She asked and he did not answer.
"I did not promise to return her to you" he retorted and she frowned.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I only guaranteed you her safety, isn't that a better deal?" He asked and she clenched her fist.
"That maid, she is a member of the Raez bloodline is that why you take interest in her?" He asked but she did not reply.
"Return the maiden to my side" she said.
"I have already given you the freedom of having your door open isn't that too much to ask for?" He said and she frowned at it. He was retracting from her room when she pulled out a dagger from her bed.
"Ian" she called out holding the dagger out.
"Who is it that you plan to strike? Is it me?" He asked un bothered.
"It is only a fool who would attempt such folly" she replied as she drew the dagger to her neck.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Ending this chapter" she replied.
"When I returned from my pack I had only but two ideology of peace" she stated.
"The first was me gaining my position as the Luna of the pack and putting an end to this stupid postulation of a war of pride but then that is just one silly dream isn't it? You won't even let me own your house speak more of your pack, how could you when the purpose of my existence to you is a play toy you put to suffer at leisure"
"When I met Ares I felt hope, hope that the war would not begin if I got married to him instead, that way none of you had me, none of you could hurt me" she continued with tears in her eyes.
"You win Ian, you are the fucking victor, after everything you've forced me to my second option, my death" she smiled sadly.
"If Luke did not have something to fight for them he wouldn't and even if he did I would not bear his blood on my head, I would not live to watch my pack suffer for the mistakes of the past, instead I will be reunited with my lover in death" she smiled as she pressed the dagger of her neck skin, blood slowly dripped from it.
"It's over now Ian" she cried and was about to plunge the dagger further into her skin when her hands involuntarily stopped.
"It's not over yet" he retorted
"The story is far from over" he continued.
"The story ending can only be decided by the most powerful person in the story and I say it is not yet over, you are not allowed to die off like this Diane, do you know why?" He asked.
"Because this story is mainly about you, your family is the villian in my life, your father was the man who drew my father's blood" he stared into her tears filled eyes which searched his in fear, their both hands were firm on the dagger.
"In the past I had decided that i would kill Luke in your presence and watch you live your life suffering but since you wish so much to be reunited with him then sure why not?" He asked.
"Just wait a little bit and I will reunite you both in death" he said before drawing the dagger out of her hands and throwing it away.
"Too late" she giggled pointing at her injured neck, her blood was darkish red which indicated that the dagger was poison laced, and even its tiny contact with her blood was dangerous.
"If I say you live, then you live, even the moon goddess cannot oppose to that" he said.
Her eyes was slowly closing.
"Is this what it feels like to end?" She asked in tears a light smile plastered on her face when she suddenly passed out.

"Let us begin as friends" Luke proposed to Rose as they ate silently on the long dining table.
Rosalyn had been surprised when Luke asked to eat with her but she was shocked even more by his words.
"Did the sun rise from the west today my Lord?" She asked maintaining her almost silent and composed nature.
"We have lived together for almost a year and I have never eaten once with you, it is only naturally I begin to feel curious" he said.
"I have lost my appetite my Lord and I wish to return to my chambers" she said but her growling stomach said otherwise.
"If I make you uncomfortable I am willing to leave" he said and was about to rise up when she stopped him.
"I am being childish please have your seat and your meal" she said feeling defeated while Luke just chuckled, she shut her eyes tightly and looked away twisting her mouth into a pout as she expressed her embarrassment.
"I am the one who should feel embarrassed" he chuckled more.
"But you do not instead I am the one suffering from the shame" she said cutely.
She was happy at this tiny gesture of his she had forgotten the nights of pain he had given her.
"So friends?" Luke asked and she pouted a bit as if she was thinking before she nodded yes.
To her it was a good start while to him it was a way to ensure that he did not cause her undue pain while he chased after Diane.
That night they chatted heartily like a real couple.
