CHAPTER 51

Third Person's POV:

Massimo brought Kaylee to his mansion in New York City. The whole way there, she thrashed and tried to run away but failed.

They entered his mansion's driveway, and Kaylee again tried to run away. Just as he opened the car door, she managed to run off. Massimo stood by his car, massaging his temples. Kaylee stopped In front of the gates that had closed behind the car.

The guards stood there, emotionless as always.

"Open the door," Kaylee ordered. But they ignored her. "I said open the door!" Her voice was louder this time.

"Sorry, ma'am. We can't," one of them said without looking at her.

"Okay. If you can't, then get the fuck aside so I can open it," she said and walked furiously forwards them.

"Stop it, Kaylee. No one is going to help you," Massimo said tiredly.

"Oh, you listen here. I am Kaylee Jenn, the billionaire. You can't fucking stop me," she said, starting to walk towards him, but she stopped as soon as he started to take slow steps towards her.

"I know," he whispered.

She blinked. He moved towards her, and she backed away, her back hitting a tree behind her. "W-what are you d-doing? Stay a-away," she stuttered—not because she was afraid of him but because she was afraid of herself. She might give in to this sexy beast.

Massimo came closer to her and placed one of his hands above her on the tree trunk and the other on her waist.

"What am I doing?" he whispered huskily.

Her breath hitched. "Y-you are t-trying to seduce m-me."

'God, what the hell? Why am I stuttering?'

"Are you nervous, baby girl?" His nose touched hers, and his eyes fixed on her lips.

"N-no."

"Be a good girl and follow me," Massimo said and grabbed Kaylee's hand, dragging her towards the front door.

"I am not going in!" she yelled, but he pulled her anyways.

"I will call the police on you. They will arrest you, and you will rot in hell all your life," she yelled, but deep down, her heart sank as she listened to her own words. Only God knew that she didn't want that ever to happen.

Massimo dragged her through the front door, into the house, and past various doors until he reached his bedroom. He pulled her in and locked the door behind them. Kaylee turned around and tried to open it, but she couldn't.

"I will call the cops on you. Wait a minute. Just wait a minute."

Massimo pulled his coat off and threw it across the room. "Go ahead. Call them," he said, sounding bored.

Kaylee tried to find her phone, but it wasn't in her hand. She put her hands in her pockets, only to remember that she was wearing her pajamas. Massimo turned around, amusement filling his eyes. "Oh, sorry. You don't have your phone. Well, it will be here soon. Until then, here. Call from my phone." He took his phone out and offered it to her.

Kaylee looked at the phone for a good three seconds, then took it.

"9-1-1." Massimo smiled as he told her the number for the police.

"I know!" she roared.

"Sorry." He put his hands up, backing off.

She dialed the number, and someone answered the call. "Hey, hello. It's me, Kaylee Jenn. "

"Oh, yes, ma'am. How can we help you?" the guy on the other end of the line said, beaming.

Kaylee smirked, putting the phone on loud speaker. She gestured with her hands to Massimo, seeming to say, 'Just see' as she pointed two of her fingers at her eyes, then at the phone. Massimo smiled in amusement, his eyes twinkling at her. He nodded, assuring her that he was fully focusing on her. "Yeah, so this guy here kidnapped me, and I tried to escape, but his men won't let me," she said.

"Oh, okay. May I know where you are? Do you know who this guy is?"

"Yeah, actually, I don't know where I am, but his name is Massimo Feorenzo," Kaylee said, smirking.

"Sorry, ma'am…who?"

"Massimo Feorenzo."

The minute she said his name, the line went dead.

Massimo acted surprised while Kaylee looked at phone. "Hello?" The line was dead. "He hung up?" she asked herself, her voice growing weak. She was embarrassed as hell.

He stood up, came towards her, bent down, kissed her forehead, and said, "I am tired, baby girl. Let's just sleep." With that, he went to take a shower.

•••

A week had passed, and Kaylee was doing her work from home. Massimo had told her many times that he just wanted to protect her, and that was why he was not allowing her to go out. But she was still hell-bent on escaping. 'If the police can't help me, then I will help myself.'

She refused to talk to anybody because she now knew that everybody here was in the mafia. Marco tried to make jokes here and there, but she gave them all the cold shoulder. She had thought they were all her friends, but they had all betrayed her by not telling her the truth about Massimo. Chicago kept giving her the stink eye, and Massimo was still trying to figure out who was behind all of this. Who was trying to harm his girl?

"Someone is a traitor from our gang. Someone close to you, "Marco said.

"How Kaylee found out about the mafia thing is out of my head, "Cane said.

"Someone must have told her, "Marco said.

Massimo had kept quiet as his two confidants talked, but now, he spoke up. "They gave her the wrong information. She said I have the blood of innocent people on my hands because I kill them for money," he said, puffing on his cigarette. "And she believed it."

Marco laughed. "I mean, that's funny. We give people money so they can survive. Why the hell would we kill innocent people for money? "he said.

"Someone has a personal grudge here, "Massimo said, and Cane and Marco both nodded. "Find who it is."
