CHAPTER 49
There were guns and all kinds of guns inside that room. What the hell did Massimo need guns for?
Before negative thoughts could completely take over my mind, I turned around and headed out, swallowing hard. What the fuck did I just see? As I walked down the hallway, there was another room to my left that was open, and out of curiosity, I opened the door wider and entered.
Inside, there were suits, white shirts, guns, watches, and so many more things lining the wall facing me, and another wall was full of weapons.
"What the fuck is this?" I gasped. "Why are they even here?"
What was Massimo into? He really needed to give me some answers. Scared and confused, I made my way back out of the room, but then, I remembered I had to give the tea to Chicago. I again headed back down the hallway and opened the door to the room the man had pointed me towards.
"What the actual fuck!" It was a meeting room—like, seriously, a gang meeting room.
I moved further in and placed the cup on the table. There was a file on it, and I opened it.
Massimo Feorenzo
Leader of the Italian mafia, also known as Black Scorpions

Killed more than a thousand innocent people for money
Drug lord

Smuggl—
My eyes were wet from tears. My heart hurt from the betrayal. Before I could read further, I heard a coughing sound. I turned around and saw Chicago there.
"Well, you weren't supposed to find out about this, but since you have, let me tell you: it's all true," she said and moved towards the desk.
More tears came, even as I brushed them off with my hands. "You knew all along? "I asked.
"Oh, Kaylee, Kaylee, Kaylee…we work for him. We are his gang members. We kill whoever he wants, and he pays us." Chicago shrugged. "You know, this is all very horrible. He is like this: he will get a new chick, make her fall in love with him, take her body, and the next thing you know, he will kill her after making false promises, "she said, sitting in one of the chairs and grabbing her tea.
"You are lying," I said through gritted teeth.
"Well, it's on you if you want to believe me or him. After all, you have seen his file. If you want to read more, go ahead," she said, gesturing to me with her hands.
I felt a hard lump in my throat and swallowed hard to stop myself from crying further.
'Get a grip, Kaylee. You are Kaylee Jenn, the billionaire. Be strong. You are not weak. You get that? You are not weak.'
Shaking my head, I looked at Chicago, who only smiled. "And you know, you being in his bed is nothing new. I have been in his bed more than you ever will." She shrugged.
I scrunched my nose in irritation. Anger coursed through my veins. "Are not you with Cane? "
"Oh, sweetie, Cane knows all about it." She winked, laughing.
"Wh-hat?!?" I couldn't believe this. Could they be more pathetic?
"It will be better if you leave without telling Capo, or else he will kill you after taking all your property…why do you think he bought a 30% share in your company?"
What! I couldn't believe this. I ran my hand through my hair. So this was his plan? I worked day and night for my empire, and he wanted to take that away from me?
"What should I do now?" I asked, more to myself than to Chicago. Still, she answered.
"You should pack your stuff and get out of here. Make sure to not go to your own house; he can find you there. I will give you an address, and you can go there," she suggested.
I nodded and went out to pack and escape before anyone could notice me.

Third Person's POV:
"Everything is going as planned. She will be there before tomorrow. Now, she's all yours. Make sure they can't find her," she said and hung up the phone.
'The game is on, Miss Kaylee Jenn and my oh-so-handsome Mr. Feorenzo,' she thought and smirked.

Kaylee packed and left the mansion. No one even noticed her absence. She bought tickets and went back to New York City. Though Chicago had given her an address in another state, she had wanted the comfort of home, so after collecting some things from her apartment, she booked a hotel room and stayed there.
She would not go back to Massimo. He was in the fucking mafia. She had thought that mafia only existed in bo—
Wait a minute.
Wait a fucking minute.

**Flashback**
"Kaylee, don't panic, okay? They were the Russian mafia, and they did bad things. The Italian mafia hates them because of their human trafficking and so much more, like what happened to my family. We try our best to control crimes like rape and all—"
"We?" she asked, getting up.
"Leave it and listen to what I was saying."
•••
"What happened to the Russian mafia? Are they still after you guys?"
Massimo smirked. "They can't. The Italian mafia erased their name and mark from this earth years ago."
**End of Flashback**

How could she be so fucking stupid? Shit!! Kaylee face-palmed.
'Well, I fucked up big time.'
